Good stuff - Thank you! Another tip: Don't make your voice talent worry about timed pauses and all that. have them record each line or segment with a brief pause and put a clicker strike between lines or segments, the cut those into individual files with your favorite sound editor software, free or otherwise, (the clicker strikes will show a sharp vertical line in the audio graphs, making division points easy to find) and insert those individually into your video, or, complete your video, and lengthen or shorten the pauses to make a custom audio track in your audio software.
I'm the one who thought that I would not need the tutorials for beginners. It is simple to use but you simply need to go through all the tips and tricks first. I liked this video, well done!

Hey Solo Boss, I appreciate your in-depth instructions. Although Ads are annoying, it's much more annoying to not know WTF to do when doing one's poor best to create a mind-blowing video :) You deserve your Ad income. Bravo!
I am not sure how to adjust the amount of ads in a video. TH-cam adds them automatically to the video so I am not sure if I can adjust them. It's very low ad income... lol I haven't really had time to look into the details of the TH-cam partner program yet as far as how to work the tools, etc because I am producing these other videos. It takes a really long time to make these videos. The current one I am working on has been 4 months in the making. I am almost completed with it. Perhaps another couple of weekends like this one. 16 to 20 hours ever Saturday and Sunday. Been working on this since 5am and it is now 1am so time for bed. Then I'll get up tomorrow and work until around 1am. Then 4 to 5 hours a day after a full days work working with a variety of clients in I.T. :D To be in the TH-cam partner program, you need to have 4,000 watched hours and 1,000 subscribers to even apply. An application does not guarantee admission. I didn't become a TH-cam partner because of ad revenue. There are other perks you receive when you become a partner and I wanted those but then ads... so.... I kind of left it alone and took the good with the bad.
I'm glad that the video helped you. Check out some of the other tutorials that I've created. I'm working on another one now that should be ready in a few weeks.

@@SoloBoss I have a question if you don't mind? Can you explain the resolutions bit please. Complete beginner when it comes to this sort of thing. My first video was for facebook. But if I wanted to upload it onto youtube, what would I make it in? Hope I'm making sense. Thanks
@@joygill5842 Funny as I am creating a video about this right now. My next video is a doodly walkthrough and it goes into resolutions inside that video that has a dedicated chapter all about resolutions. The first thing to understand about resolutions is that the numbers that you see mean how many dots or pixels are across your screen or what somebody is looking at when they're watching your video. So if you see 1920 x 1080 then that means 1920 pixels across and 1080 pixels High. This will make it look like a rectangle. If you see 1000 by 1000 this will make it look like a square. Easiest thing to remember is that when you create your video in one resolution you must export it in that same resolution. Doodly does not automatically transfer these numbers for you. 99.9% of the places out there require you to have a 1920 x 1080 resolution. If you stick with that when you're creating the video and you stick with that when you're exporting the video you'll be fine. You'll run into a little bit of bumps with Facebook and Instagram because in some of those places they put up a square thumbnail for your video which cuts off stuff on the side of your video but they still play it in a 1920 x 1080 resolution. I hope this helps answer your question.

I just paid $235NZD for Doodly and Doodly Enterprise Membership despite never having done a whiteboard animation before. So when I saw the pay one time $67 I took that opportunity only to discover you had to purchase more to gain more lol. I have watched just 2 of your tutorial videos here, I have subscribed and liked both video's because if that's all we have to do to show our appreciation for the time and effort you put in to making these tutorials then maybe we should be paying you ! lol Thank you
Yes, we all found that out. LOL... The more you pay the easier the software. I have around $600.00 US invested in total. If you want color, you have to buy the rainbow addon. The company has to make money somehow but I would feel better if the software was programmed better. Yes, I appreciate you liking and subscribing to the channel. I will be working with my cohost on some other videos we will be putting on the channel that have to do with starting a business in the United States. I am also working on a Doodly walkthrough video. There are a total of 10 chapters and I have 4 more chapters to write the script for so it will be a bit. After that I have to record and edit the script and then sync it up with the video. Beyond that stitch it together with the intro/outro/version videos, etc and then I get to create a Thumbnail in Photoshop and fill out all the TH-cam SEO portion. LOL Yes, I only ask that you like the video, share it with other people , subscribe and let the video run until the end.
your not done yet, you have to pay another 67 for color, we should consult a class action, one time fee is just that and shouldn't have all these extras to milk us of our money
@@williamarvai945 The software gives you exactly what the advertisement says and nothing more. After you purchase the software you will be hit up with multiple upsell emails to purchase more items. While it's true that you can use the software with just the $67.00 purchase, you don't get color images without another $67.00 purchase and you don't get the extra characters, additional sound effects or the additional 35 fonts without the additional $97.00 purchase for Enterprise. Then you'll want additional characters from. The marketplace and those cost money. So overall, while you can get away with the $67.00 one time purchase and you do get a lot for only $67.00, the software is designed to keep you purchasing afterwards. What they don't tell you is how many bugs the software has, the slowness of rendering and the other many issues that come along with buying $67.00 software. You don't find that out until after you purchase. They also don't tell you the software is memory heavy so your computer better be able to handle it. Additionally, they don't inform you that the software is crazily designed so you cannot have any of your projects on your computer. They are all kept on the Bryxen cloud so if Bryxen ever does away with Doodly, you lose all your projects and they are not exportable to anything else other than a rendered .mp4, webm or mkv file but nothing where you can continue working on your project later if they go under or close up shop.
@@williamarvai945 The lawsuit would ultimately fail. They are not false advertising. Bryxen has very carefully planned their marketing. They give you 100% to the T exactly what their advertisement states and nothing more. There is a 1 time fee. You can use the software for $67.00. You do get the characters. They never promised color. There are upsells for every software. Basic version to Pro, free version to upgrade silver to gold, gold to platinum, etc. The company needs to survive and support the software. Doodly may be laggy, have lots of bugs and lack a LOT of features but Bryxen keeps putting money back into the software and keeps improving it. They release a new version once a week almost like clockwork. My new video I am working on now, I actually go over all the updates in one of the chapters. I also go over the bugs you might run into and give you a behind the scenes look at what it took to make the video a reality in the 4 months I've been working on it.
Good catch Nancy. Spelling and grammar are very important in a doodle. You'll find a lot more of those beginner mistakes like that in this video. These mistakes have been purposely inserted so people can find them. You are the first one to point this one out. Good eye.
@@NancyMcCurry Ha ha ha ha You're pretty funny. Your students have a wonderful teacher. In this case, I have it in my description that we've purposely placed beginner mistakes throughout this video. Thus far I have had one person point out something that wasn't planned.
I very much agree that watching the simple tutorials does provide a newby with a solid foundation of what is involved in making Doodly videos. So watch them! (The only complaint I have is that the tutorials have irritating background music in them which distract away from the otherwise excellent tutorial content. Why do people think you need to put thumping music in the background for a tutorial? These are TRAINING videos, not MUSIC videos! The annoying soundtrack (even though not loud) contributes absolutely nothing to learning how to use Doodly, yet potentially distracts away from the learning session.)
Hi Randy, Very excellent comment. To answer your question within the comment requires a few different pieces of analysis. Music is an important part of the background. It is not very desirable to have a viewer to listen to blank dead space when the trainer is not talking. So the music is very light in the background there to take the place of that dead air when the trainer is not speaking. I address this concern within this tutorial and provide comparisons and suggested music levels. Now, the more in depth version of this analysis that I don't talk about in this video, as it is a beginner video, that you've hit on the head and the exact reason for the choice of that sound track for this particular video: Choosing the right sound track. This can be a double edged sword as I also explain in the video. Choosing the correct sound track is an intermediate concept so I do not talk about it in a beginner video. You are the very first one to notice and I was wondering if anyone would notice this since it is very light. If you read the description, I've purposely placed beginner mistakes throughout this entire video and this is one of them that has been placed and took quite a while to settle on this sound track. This allows for the viewer to go through, watch the video and then re-watch it, see if they can spot the mistakes and decide what they don't like about the video and just not repeat it in their videos. There was a lot of time spent on finding this sound track for this video so congrats on being the first one to catch or mention the music in this video. I was starting to think this one was going to slide by and not get noticed and the time I spent searching for this would have been wasted. I take a very different approach to creating tutorials for beginners. I want to give the beginner doodler the chance to see and hear what they don't like about the video so they don't have to go through trial and error in their own videos. In addition to placing beginner mistakes throughout this video I also have a playlist for Learning and Common Errors that allows new Doodlers to watch the videos, decide what they don't like about the videos and just not repeat those items in their videos. Check out those video shorts as they help train the beginner when deciding what you don't like and don't want in your own videos. great video! very polished and professional. I'm sure watching yours and Doodly's tutorials, I will still be guilty of all the mistakes. I'll find out soon if I am cut out for making videos, especially whiteboard animation. Since your whole video (15 min.) seems to be all whiteboard animation, I am curious ... how long did it take for you to create this video?
I believe I mention that in the video. This was one of the first videos I did and it took a long time to create. About 60 hours I think I put into this vide if I remember correctly and yes it was all whiteboard animation.

There is no fast way to sync the voice to the text. It is trial and error. Record your voice over first then make your video and sync the video to the text.
The tips are incredibly useful, and there are lots of things that I hadn’t considered (the one about adjusting volume levels is something I had never picked up on before). One point though - I totally get why you say that a good audio track is vital, it becomes much more engaging, but isn’t it the case that some alternative form of engagement must also be used, especially in light of the statistic that 85% of facebook video is consumed with volume turned off? I don’t pretend to know what that alternative may be (interesting GIF at the outset, for example) but that must be there, I think. The other thing I’ve noticed on looking through peoples’ offerings is that the old basics from when I used to do presentations for business seem to have gone by the board, but I think they remain relevant. The main adage was always “tell them what you’re going to tell them, tell them, then tell them what you’ve told them”. So many doodlies launch into the video and don’t actually let you know what it’s about until a minute or so in. Personally speaking, I have continued watching because I wanted to know about the techniques that have been used, but any casual browser would have said “what’s the point of this? I’m out of here!” long before the message is delivered
Hi JillandFrank, I switch my account to a brand account and it lost all of my replies. So I am now replying back at everybody again so that other people can see my replies when they come to the channel. Yes you are correct that some alternate form of Engagement needs to happen however, since this is a beginner tutorial we do not discuss advanced concepts. We want people to be familiar with the basics so any type of advanced concepts like engagement or using a third-party program to make effects are not going to be part of this beginner tutorial.

I love the content, although I thought for a moment that we were advocating cannibalism with the statement, "Eat Healthy People." Perhaps a comma would have been useful :-)
Ha ha ha ha ha ha... That's awesome. With this video, I did not put it through Microsoft Word or Google docs on purpose. There are a ton of common beginner mistakes that have been purposely placed in this video and grammar is definitely one of them. I place them in there just so people can go back through them and say oh well I caught this and I caught that and you did this in your video and you talked about doing this but you did that too. This gives people the advantage of being able to re-watch the video so that they can catch the mistakes that I purposely placed.

I’d love some advice on how best to Sync voice with assets please? For example, It would be great if the start and finish of each asset had some form of visual indicator in the timeline.
Unfortunately the only method is manually to sync up the voice and the assets using the duration delay and the basic audio bar on the audio timeline. There is no magical method to syncing up your voice over with the assets on the canvas. Doodly is not that advanced. It is a basic reveal program with very basic functions. To request features be added to doodly you can use their feature request forum. If you open doodly and go to the help then you should be able to see feature request or customer support or something to that effect. In the Facebook group there are plenty of references to asking doodly to include a new feature.

I didn't have these videos when I started so I was as frustrated as can be which is why I started making these videos; so you don't have to go through what I went through. :D
Hi Ruth, Click on my icon next to my name and click on videos. There are tons of tutorials we provide. We are currently going through a lot with repairing with some software but we're in the middle of writing a lot of tutorials for photo editing that will go along with our tutorials for Doodly. Additionally, go to www.scrfix.com and scroll to the bottom. Click on Doodly Tutorials. There you will find the Doodly tutorials we've written at all skill levels with the accompanying videos if they exist.
Not yet. That is an intermediate to advanced concept. We are working on the beginner tutorials first since those take the longest amount of time. We will do one on this but it will be a little while. TH-cam deleted all my replies to everyone when converting the account so I am going back and retyping everything again so other people can view the replies.
I've just purchased the software today. Besides having background music, is there a way for sounds themselves to be inserted, as 'assets'? -ie does Doodly offer this? or does it allow me to insert my own sounds/animal noises etc.?
Hi Dessye, The answer is yes you can fade assets into the canvas. Yes, you can import your own sounds. Here are some resources that will help you learn Doodly. Another possibility, as a quick answer - produce your video, then open it in a video editing program (there are some good easy & free ones, or whatever you use) and then put in your foley sounds and so on in that application.
Just signed up and of course created my first video without watching any tutorials, lol. I know I made a few mistakes, but that's ok, better next time. I'll be sure to watch tutorials now. After you make an adjustment, when previewing, is it possible to continue where you left off, or does the preview have to start every single time from from the beginning?!

hai sir, yesterday i buy doodly standed version . now i am learning please guide me this timeline is very big space how to reduce (top to bottom ) little small because i cant see this right side bottom items more i hope soon you answer me thanks
Hello, From your question, I am presuming you are talking about the layers on the right hand side. No doubt that the user-interface for Doodly needs some severe help and it is not a good design. There are 2 very tiny scrollbars to the right hand side of the layers. The first you can see which is gray colored but there is a hidden black scrollbar directly to the right of it and it will allow you to see 1 more layer. Your request also highly depends on the resolution of your computer as well as how zoomed in your zoom settings are set. Another bad user interface design in Doodly is the fact almost everything in Doodly is super tiny except the layers on the right hand side which are huge. This means if you set your computer to a higher resolution, you'll be able to see more layers but you won't be able to see anything else which is a very bad design. To help you out a little more in learning the software, watch The Design Hub's Doodly software Walk-Through. th-cam.com/play/PLUG2lEVrUICigzbjp8iflMI617jASTMyf.html This may not have been the answer you were looking for but hopefully it has helped.

very good video. i am thinking to purchase one for my youtube video creation. the video guided me a lot. I am bigginer in youtube channel and do you advise to purchase (invest ) at this stage
Hi Dr. Karlekar, That question is one that requires a lot of in depth knowledge about the answer. I will try and make this short. Short Answer: If I knew back then what I know now about the software, I probably would not purchase the software. You may stop here or read my VERY EXTENSIVE and VERY DETAILED answer of both good and bad to help make your decision. With that being said, there are a tremendous amount of benefits to Doodly but also a lot of downsides. The marketers for Doodly are amazing. They play this off as a one time purchase and so easy, just drag n drop and then they offer a reseller program that is very enticing for people so you will see everyone has that on their channel that tells you how wonderful Doodly is but they are motivated by receiving money. I am not a reseller for Doodly but I may sign up one day because of money. If people are going to purchase they may as well purchase through me... :D The one time purchase is very deceiving. After you purchase, you are bombarded with automatic emails about purchasing more for which you must to make the best out of Doodly so expect to put about $400 - $1,200 into Doodly to really get the best benefit from it otherwise you will be very disappointed with your purchase of $67.00. The $67.00 does not get you everything. It gets you exactly what they tell you and no more. You get basic black and white characters. You do not get the upgrades to new characters as they come out, you do not get colored characters, nor do you get the club membership, nor all the sound effects nor the templates or all the characters. Now, with that said, the company has to make money. It takes tens of thousands of hours to make those characters. It takes thousands of dollars and thousands of paid man hours to create these deals companies to get you these sound effects and all of the stuff Doodly does get you so you can understand, the company needs to make money. They cannot make anything by giving this stuff away for free but that doesn't stop you from feeling like you have been duped by the company because after you purchase, they want you to purchase from the market place for $500.00. They want you to purchase the rainbow addon for $97.00, the masterclass for another $90+, enterprise addon for $97.00, Voomly, Toonly, etc etc etc... See where this is adding up. All of those addons are definitely worth the price but nothing is mentioned about that anywhere in their advertising which leaves you feeling duped. Again, a lot of work comes into play with all of these additions so you cannot expect the Bryxen company to give it to your for free but that still doesn't forgive the feeling of it is not a one time fee because they immediately want you to spend over $1,000 bombarded with these emails. The added bonuses you receive from purchasing is worth every penny by all means but it just doesn't stop that feeling you receive when initially purchasing. Then the Facebook group. I've always gotten the feeling the Facebook group is run by a bunch of power hungry kids. When I first got on, I guess you are not allowed to leave a signature in your posts so my posts kept getting removed. I would look to see why and there was no information there so no communication whatsoever so I was banned from the group multiple times. I kept signing back up and getting approved and this process repeated because there was 0 communication and their rules did not say, don't leave your information. It was really a frustrating experience. I did write support and they straightened things out and I was let back in and I am guessing they are happy about that choice because I have helped 100's of people and submitted designs for Doodly to better the poorly design user interface that they have corrected. If you say ANYTHING negative or something that can be construed as negative about Doodly or the Facebook group, boom your out, banned or your comments are removed or locked. If you ask any support questions in the Facebook group your comments will most likely be locked. As a beginner user, this leaves you feeling like a concentration camp. Even the rules say that we can ban you for any reason and if banned you will never be allowed back into the group, it's crazy. I was lucky to be allowed back in because there was no communication to me when they were removing my posts. I even posted asking why my posts are being removed and that post was removed with no communication... ahhhhhhhhhh So Brad Callen came into the Facebook group asking for opinions and he wanted to know "why" our answer was our answer. I gave him my honest opinion for his question telling him about the Facebook group and telling him about the issues and telling him that I didn't trust the company enough for his question. The Facebook group admins removed my post. I went to support and wrote the same thing and asked that they give it to him and they responded to me it was because I spoke bad about the Facebook group and I responded to them that it was part of the "why' that Brad Callen requested. I still don't believe they ever gave him my opinion so that was a bunch of wasted time and that is too bad because feedback like that is so valuable to a company. With that said, there are a lot of people like me in that Facebook group that are willing to help you learn Doodly and with these videos I make your life 10,000 times easier than mine was when I first started. I try to make these tutorials in such a way that the knowledge you learn from my tutorial is not just for one version but for all versions when you learn something from my tutorials. Let's talk about the programming of the software. The software is extremely poorly programmed. It is very laggy with longer designs and is designed so that you do not own your own files. The sources files are on the Bryxen servers and if there are ever any issues they are not on your computer and never will be on your computer. This will go into very technical details but I will try and keep it as non-technical as possible. See this 30 second video to understand my next statements. What makes your computer fast: th-cam.com/video/8G2IeKyCVIo/w-d-xo.html First the images are not kept on your computer when you are using the software, EVERYTHING is loaded into the memory of your computer. This is so bad for performance and 100's of other reasons like buffer overflow errors, memory mismanagement, poor computer performance, slower computers. This is the reason Doodly lags so badly. This design is just not good and never will be good unless your computer has 96GB of memory installed into the computer. This is why it takes so long to render your videos. The rendering time is horrendous in this software. I can render a 46 minute video including the Doodly video I exported in 30 minutes using Adobe Premier. Doodly, it took 11 hours to render a 15 minute video. The undo and redo functionality just doesn't work properly. The layers section was a mess until Brad took my design suggestions are passed it to their development team. The layers section is still not designed well but it is a lot better than what it was when I started with the new design. I am not sure if Brad took my suggestions because I was helping someone out within the group or because he liked the suggestions. He asked me to PM him directly with my suggestions and I did this but I have never heard anything back and my other suggestions were not taken into consideration so I am thinking that left me thinking that he didn't really care about my suggestions. I am still unsure if his request was an underlying message silently telling me to shut my mouth about saying anything bad about Doodly in the group or get banned or if he was really interested in my designs to make the software better. I haven't written him since because I didn't receive any communication for the PM I sent him. There are a ton of Doodly fanboys that will fight to their dying day about how amazing the software is and how wonderful it is but that is not the case. The user interface design is really poorly designed with almost none of the basic features you would expect from any designed software nowadays. The back end is really poorly designed and is programmed and designed around two things, allowing the Bryxen company to hold onto all content you create without the ability to transfer it anywhere else and allowing you to make more purchases very easily because their marketplace works flawlessly, surprise surprise but even their marketplace UI design is not user-friendly and needs work. Even when you import an image into Doodly, you can delete it but if you try and export it, then it exports as DAS file which is useless except for in Doodly. Now there are a lot of really awesome things that can be done with that DAS file "in Doodly". There is 0 Quality Assurance in Doodly. It seems like whenever the programmers program something, they don't program it correctly and the users are the Quality Assurance testers. The problem with using this methodology is the company isn't Microsoft and doesn't have a billion users so most of the users are not qualified to be quality assurance testers and they will tell you that themselves. It takes someone like me to get in there and stick with the software to be able to tell them that their GIF animation images are programmed incorrectly and show them why or that their layers are programmed badly because they have 2 scrollbars. People like me take a look at this software and run because it is just not worth it or they use it very minimally in their every day business and just chalk it up to a loss. With that said, there are a lot of benefits to the user-interface, you can copy and paste entire scenes from one project to another perfectly. You can copy and paste images called assets from one scene to another. Templates and sound effects are available. This is as much as TH-cam allows me to type.
@@RajshekharKarlekar You're welcome. I could have gone on for another 5,000 characters easily but I ran out of characters... So I guess there is a 5,000 character limit when leaving a comment on TH-cam. Ha ha ha ha
Thank you for the video. I would like to sell videos to small business in my country. I have some questions : 1. Which fonts do you recommend ? 2. Do you think Doodly Rainbow Add-On is essential in order to make money ? (does it worth it ?) Thank you !
Hi Pierre, 1. Which font: I answer this in the bad fonts chapter in this video. We settled on Homizio and Roboto after a LOT of trial and error with fonts. Even Homizio has its drawbacks. Always check and keep a copy of the licensing with fonts. 2. I have seen some extremely clever Doodles without the rainbow. Rainbow add-on is not a necessity to make money but you have to have a very good design eye to make it work and people tend to stick with a colored background or chalkboard. You can also upload your own images and you don't have to use any Marketplace or doodly supplied images. However, if you want to make your life easier, get the rainbow add-on.
Hi Pip, Thank you. I am not part of the affiliate program for Doodly but I can most certainly look into that. Great idea. I will look into adding it to the list of videos to be created.
I have one coming up that is a complete doodly walk through. That touches base on syncing the voice over with text. As far as scenes and transitions, watch my Scene Transitions and Exit Animations video tutorial. I go into great detail on that subject. th-cam.com/video/hOOP2gTTP1I/w-d-xo.html Thank you for the suggestions.
They need more lessons period. or at least newer ones. The tutorials on the site have a different layout and menu options than what doodly currently shows. Also, they don't introduce the entire platform...just the editing part, so you can't learn how to make project folders, organize the projects, or how to organize and sort your imported assets...etc unless you just play with it
I've been working on a video tutorial for the past 4 months that will teach you all that. However, Bryxen just released updated tutorials. My video goes into a greater amount of detail and hopefully will only take me a couple of more weekends to release but they do have their new ones out now that delve into the information the previous ones lacked.
Hi, If you Google free for commercial use fonts in your language then you should find fonts you can download. Read the license agreement to see if you are allowed to use the font for commercial use or if attribution is required. Doodly supports TTF fonts. If you would like know know how to install fonts into Doodly, look at the description of the beginner playlist and there is a link for The Design Hub Doodly walk thru and Hla does an amazing job of explaining Doodly howto's.
That is in my next tutorial I am working on now. There is a portion of it that I touch on how Doodly does not have a spell check so use Google Docs, Microsoft Word or some other item before putting your text into Doodly.

Hey Amazing video. Just one suggestion. While overlapping the drawing, make the opacity of the overlapping drawing to less than 99% and it will not erase it, instead will draw on it. :) Awesome video btw
Awesome tip. I hadn't figured that one out yet. It is very rare that someone is able to teach me something in this software. That is just awesome. So you don't have to turn Erase Mode off, you just turn the opacity down below 100%. I am 100% certain that is a bug and not meant to work like that but that's fantastic! Thanks for letting me know. Most of the beginner errors you see in this video were placed there purposely so people could go back and try and spot them throughout the video and point them out if desired. Erase Mode is one of those beginner mistakes I purposely kept on throughout this video so people could see it and say why didn't he turn it off. Well, so they could see what erase mode does to a doodle. Did you see the scene transitions video? Scene Transitions: th-cam.com/video/hOOP2gTTP1I/w-d-xo.html Here is a video that I didn't put the beginner mistakes into it. Watch it. I would love your opinion on it. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
@@SoloBoss Yes... When I got the software, I too felt it was kinda a Bug, but got this solution In one of the Doodly forums. Btw, I'll be definitely checking out your other videos👍
This is a question that has been asked a lot in the Facebook group and the answer you will receive when you ask most people is that as long as it is a .TTF file then Doodly supports it but that statement is not accurate. Other people have said the font "The Fares" works well for Arabic natively. www.wfonts.com/font/al-fares I just tested an Arabic font from this website and it worked.
You would think so but I've watched and commented on 1000's of doodles for about a year now and everyone of them I reference back to this video because there is something in it I want them to watch whether it be the scribbling in chapter 1, the bad font, lack of sound, lack of drawing, etc. I even designed the video with a ton of beginner mistakes so they can watch it again just to spot the mistakes.
Doodly? Yes, it is in a lot of advertisements currently, so the answer would be yes. Are those advertisements successful? That, I don't know. Would I use it in an advertisement? .......... long pause......... longer pause.................. wooh.......... longer pause...................... I think there are a lot better tools for professional advertisements than Doodly but those tools are not as inexpensive and require a huge learning curve. :D
would have wanted to watch the video in full but the VO is making me feel zzzzzzzz. The tone of voice doesn't match what the video is communicating. New users will have to pay attention to the intonation and the speed at which they speak, if they are to create an engaging video, especially in these times when online learning is getting to be the "new normal".
Hi Don, Very good observation. When making a video the voice over should be engaging. It's definitely difficult to record a long stretch of talking in one sitting even when reading from a script. So it's best to record it in sections however when doing this, it becomes very difficult to get the same tone, attitude and intonation as the previous takes on different days. The advice contained within the video is still sound advice and although we have purposely placed beginner mistakes throughout the video, the voice-over was not one of them. That just kind of took place over many days at 2am recordings... :D Luckily, we segregated this video into chapters so if a viewer is looking for specific advice on a specific chapter, they are able to easily skip around and still get the advice. The user can even mute the sections, except for 100% audio, and take a look at the comparison videos we took a lot of time to create to see which one they prefer if they choose to have the sound muted. Thank you for taking the time and your knowledge to point out the inflections, or lack thereof, of the voice over. I am working on another video tutorial that will be released in the upcoming weeks and hope that one sounds better.
Hi Liz, Thank you for the feedback. I don't know if I can control the number of ads that TH-cam puts in the videos. I think this is an automatic thing. If I do have control, I haven't figured it out yet.
Yes, between planning, thinking of the script, writing, recording and editing the script, searching for assets, setting them, up, exporting, testing, syncing the audio and video together, severe lag in Doodly when you get a project that large, going back and adding beginner mistakes throughout this video and a lot more items, it took well over 100 hours to create this video.
Somebody has to design all of those images and then they have to create the reveal path for those images within the software and all of that takes a lot of time. Then there's programming cost, marketing overhead and other development cost. In addition, powerpoint doesn't reveal images so it's not really an apples to apples comparison. Price wise: Office 365 $99/yr home edition so over 3 years when they come out with the newest version of office is $300.00. Doodly: $67.00 one time payment Rainbow Addon: $97.00 one time payment. So price wise $164.00 one time vs. $297.00 and additional yearly costs beyond that. So the price is cheaper as well. There are a tremendous amount of reasons to not buy Doodly but the items you mentioned are not really an accurate description of those reasons.
I agree but some people are brand new to this and there weren't a lot of good videos out there when I made this video. If you are looking for something with a little more advanced these check out the scene transitions video tutorial. Scene Transitions: th-cam.com/video/hOOP2gTTP1I/w-d-xo.html
Hi, A couple of people have mentioned it thus far. When TH-cam automatically adds the advertisements in there, I don't know if I can control those and unfortunately have been too busy creating these free video tutorials to be able to really figure it out. As soon as I have a moment I will look into that but most of my time has been spent working on another free 13 video tutorial series right now that has taken up every weekend 16 to 20 hours a day and every day 5 hours a day for the past 4 months to create. I have 4 videos scheduled to be edited after those are completed and then I may have some time available to look into this issue. Up until then, accept my apologies for the advertisements TH-cam places in the free videos I provide. :D Edit: I did look at this and think I found something. It looks like TH-cam automatically added 5 ads to the video. I cut it down to 3 ads. I hope that worked. I will check the other videos that are 15 minutes or less and cut the ads on those too.
@@SoloBoss thanks, I am glad to know that kind of time is needed to make good video's. I don't feel so slow now!! BTW I watched all the tutorials. It's a bit overwhelming since their ad says create in minutes....
The Bryxen marketing team is an amazing team that I would hire in a heartbeat if I can ever figure out who they are because they are top notch. I don't know if it is in house. Everything they tell you in the ads is 100% accurate. You can create ads in minutes. They won't be good ads but you can create them. You do get the entire software for $67.00 but you don't get the addons such as color and the additional images.
That's an awesome tip. Thank you for sharing that.

To be in the TH-cam partner program, you need to have 4,000 watched hours and 1,000 subscribers to even apply. An application does not guarantee admission. I didn't become a TH-cam partner because of ad revenue. There are other perks you receive when you become a partner and I wanted those but then ads... so.... I kind of left it alone and took the good with the bad.
Excelente Video, Now I will Star making the adjustments.

Thanks
@@joygill5842
Funny as I am creating a video about this right now.
Great tutorial. Thanx!

LOL
Yes, I only ask that you like the video, share it with other people , subscribe and let the video run until the end.
your not done yet, you have to pay another 67 for color, we should consult a class action, one time fee is just that and shouldn't have all these extras to milk us of our money
@@SoloBoss this is the same as the in purchase apps for phones except those are free, they claim one time fee yet it isn't, it is false advertising
@@williamarvai945
The software gives you exactly what the advertisement says and nothing more.
@@williamarvai945
The lawsuit would ultimately fail.
At 8:50, I love "Eat healthy people! " Can I buy a comma? Eat healthy, people. English teachers save lives!
Good catch Nancy. Spelling and grammar are very important in a doodle. You'll find a lot more of those beginner mistakes like that in this video. These mistakes have been purposely inserted so people can find them. You are the first one to point this one out. Good eye.

Your very welcome. Check out the tutorials in the other playlists.
Hi Randy,
Very excellent comment.

Great video! Thank you. What's the best and fastest way to sync the voice over?
@@SoloBoss Regarding the step 1 (Write your script), do you have an article, video tutorial or any other ressources that can teach how to proceed. In this way, a such video can be a nice subject. Hope you will bring it soon.
Hi JillandFrank,
I switch my account to a brand account and it lost all of my replies.

Thanks for the excellent vid. I wonder if you can assist. I have version 2.6.6 Enterprise but the edit pencil by the asset settings is missing so I cannot use the fade feature. How do I get it?
Hi Geoff,
I am going to presume you are talking about text where the pencil does not exist. In the case in which you want to fade text in, watch my Smooth Fading video tutorial. That was the 2nd video tutorial I created in Doodly when I was learning the software so it is fast but it will show you how to snip the text out and fade it in and give you the pros and cons of doing this.

hai sir, yesterday i buy doodly standed version . now i am learning please guide me this timeline is very big space how to reduce (top to bottom ) little small because i cant see this right side bottom items more
i hope soon you answer me thanks
Hello,
From your question, I am presuming you are talking about the layers on the right hand side.

If I understand your request, you want to know how to perform the same or similar functionality that I am doing here in this scene. Is that correct? If yes, this requires:
1. Setting the exit animation to none in the scene settings.
2. Duplicating the scene
3. Setting all your assets to 0/0
4. Deleting your text in the new scene and then writing the new text.
My next tutorial I am currently working on talks all about this feature. There is a dedicated section in this tutorial just about working with the different exit animations. Click the notification bell and it will notify you when I release this tutorial.

Thanks. Glad you liked it.
very good video. i am thinking to purchase one for my youtube video creation. the video guided me a lot. I am bigginer in youtube channel and do you advise to purchase (invest ) at this stage
Hi Dr. Karlekar,
That question is one that requires a lot of in depth knowledge about the answer.
The one time purchase is very deceiving.
I even posted asking why my posts are being removed and that post was removed with no communication... ahhhhhhhhhh
So Brad Callen came into the Facebook group asking for opinions and he wanted to know "why" our answer was our answer.
What makes your computer fast: th-cam.com/video/8G2IeKyCVIo/w-d-xo.html
First the images are not kept on your computer when you are using the software, EVERYTHING is loaded into the memory of your computer.

Thank you for the video. I would like to sell videos to small business in my country. I have some questions :
1. Which fonts do you recommend ?
2. Do you think Doodly Rainbow
Add-On
is essential in order to make money ? (does it worth it ?)
Thank you !
Hi Pierre,

Hi Pip,
Thank you. I am not part of the affiliate program for Doodly but I can most certainly look into that. Great idea. I will look into adding it to the list of videos to be created.
I think more lessons should be taught about adding the voice-over,
syncing with text, scenes, transitions etc
I have one coming up that is a complete doodly walk through. That touches base on syncing the voice over with text.
As far as scenes and transitions, watch my Scene Transitions and Exit Animations video tutorial. I go into great detail on that subject.
th-cam.com/video/hOOP2gTTP1I/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the suggestions.

It is better to know the good and bad about a product before proceeding with purchasing and spending your hard earned money. Therefore the video I provided earlier has a bonus section in it about the downsides of Doodly. The first 12 chapters show you the good side and the bugs and frustrations bonus video shows you the bad side. This will allow you to make an educated decision on where to spend your money. Watch that video before deciding.
Alternatively, you can see the video directly on its own here. Just make sure to watch the other 12 chapters to see the good side before making a decision.

Here is a video that I didn't put the beginner mistakes into it. Watch it. I would love your opinion on it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
@@SoloBoss Yes... When I got the software, I too felt it was kinda a Bug, but got this solution In one of the Doodly forums. Btw, I'll be definitely checking out your other videos👍
Does Doodle support Arabic fonts? Thnx …
This is a question that has been asked a lot in the Facebook group and the answer you will receive when you ask most people is that as long as it is a .TTF file then Doodly supports it but that statement is not accurate.
Other people have said the font "The Fares" works well for Arabic natively.
www.wfonts.com/font/al-fares
I just tested an Arabic font from this website and it worked.
@@SoloBoss Appreciate your quick response … Many thanks …

You're welcome.
I think most of these are common mistakes but if you watched the videos for the program, you should have most of these covered already
Can you imagine this be used in a real advertisement?
Hi Don,
Very good observation.
Luckily, we segregated this video into chapters so if a viewer is looking for specific advice on a specific chapter, they are able to easily skip around and still get the advice.
This is great, but too many ads in between.
Hi Liz,
Thank you for the feedback. I don't know if I can control the number of ads that TH-cam puts in the videos. I think this is an automatic thing. If I do have control, I haven't figured it out yet.
It took 100 hours to create a 15 minute video!?
Yes, between planning, thinking of the script, writing, recording and editing the script, searching for assets, setting them, up, exporting, testing, syncing the audio and video together, severe lag in Doodly when you get a project that large, going back and adding beginner mistakes throughout this video and a lot more items, it took well over 100 hours to create this video.
IMHO- a lot of clipart and they charge A LOT for everything. Learn Powerpoint, it's cheaper
Doodly: $67.00 one time payment
Rainbow Addon: $97.00 one time payment.
So price wise $164.00 one time vs. $297.00 and additional yearly costs beyond that. So the price is cheaper as well.
There are a tremendous amount of reasons to not buy Doodly but the items you mentioned are not really an accurate description of those reasons.
Some kinda obvious... I still think the crazy hand is irritating.
I agree but some people are brand new to this and there weren't a lot of good videos out there when I made this video.
If you are looking for something with a little more advanced these check out the scene transitions video tutorial.

Lol, 10:12
Glad you found it funny. A little bit of dry humor to make a point. :D
Way too many ads.
Hi,
A couple of people have mentioned it thus far.
Edit:
I did look at this and think I found something.
What they don't tell you is about the bugs and frustration using the software for which you will hear about in my videos. :D
Great👍Job✊Keep👈 it up.
thank you
You're very welcome, Max.
