Whatever the ordeal filiming was, a beautiful movie it is.

I absolutely love this movie. Lots of fond memories. Plus I had an unreasonable crush on the ghost who hit him with a toaster. I was a weird kid. So anyway, to summarise, second only to Die Hard as my favourite Christmas movie and I wholeheartedly agree that this is massively underrated.

A definite Christmas classic in my family! When Scrooged was 1st released in theaters, I was 4 maybe 5 years old at the most and had a big crush on Bill Murray. My aunt and uncle took me and my 2 brothers to see a movie and at the theater ,they asked us to pick the movie we wanted to see. I immediately saw the theatrical poster for Scrooged which had a skeletal hand lighting a match for Bill Murray holding a cigar (thumbnail of this vid) and I said "let's see this one!" And my brothers agreed. I remember our uncle was cool and about to get us tickets when my aunt looked at the rating and said it did not look appropriate for children, "especially a little girl " (me) I think we spent the next 20 minutes pleading but my aunt wouldn't have it. We were so disappointed. The following evening our mom who had heard what happened told us to get ready and in the car, we had to go grocery shopping but much to our surprise, she took us to see Scrooged at the theater. One of those small but memorable childhood memories. The audience we saw it with was laughing and clapping throughout it and even singing along with the end credits. As soon as it started airing on HBO we recorded it and watched it every season from Thanksgiving to New year's day. It's not a perfect movie but it's great for what it is. Kind of underrated IMHO.

Workplace violence was a thing when this movie was made. ‘Going Postal’ was coined because it happened with disturbing regularity. But people understood back then that laughter robbed something of its power, a skill very much lost today.

A Christmas classic that my wife and I watch every year. Another thing this movie predicted - TV programming for pets. While Preston seems intent on entertaining his cats, he also asks if Frank knows how many dogs are in the US (Bill Murrays face during this scene is great!) - and now I see commercials all the time for Dog TV, programming for dogs. Who would have thought?

But the media tells us that mass shootings are almost constant, and they would never lie to us as part of a Marxist plot.

Definitely a classic I try to watch it whenever I can quite honestly and it’s so underrated in it’s day😎

I remember this movie! I was 15 and still in Soviet Uniot and saw it from a SAT TV channel, probably FilmNet, and it was ammazing! Strange, crazy, hardly to understand. It was the Zeitgeist!

One of my First VHS's I ever purchased as a kid. Would love to see more unseen footage/outtakes and documentaries on this film one day. It would be magical

How versatile is Richard Donner? He did Superman: The Movie, Lethal Weapon, The Omen, and Scrooged. Amazing.

You missed one of my favorite cameos. Bill Murray walks by a street band playing 'We Three Kings' and jeers them. The band is actually composed of Miles Davis, Larry Carlton, David Sanborn, and Paul Schaffer!

"Maybe learn to play your instruments". Schaffer would appear with Murray in appropriately enough, A Very Murray Christmas, written by Mitch 'Scrooged' Glazer.

This was one of my top 3 Christmas movies as a kid, beside Die Hard and the Ref. My family (when I was in my teen years) used to watch them every holiday. Well except Die Hard, that I just watched all the time haha.

My favourite Christmas film along with Gremlins and Black Christmas (1974)
Bill Murray was King of comedy films back then, Tootsie, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Stripes, Groundhog Day

I used to hate this movie. And being a massive Bill Murray fan since I was like 3, it pained me that I didn't like this movie. It was only when I entered my 20s and my own sense of humor became much more cynical and I started to really appreciate improvisational comedy that I went back to Scrooged. Now I love it and is one of those 'watch every Christmas'-type of movies, right along with A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation.
