I think it is the most beautifull version of the 851. I modified my 851 monoposto strada to look just like it: Verlicci pipes, gold Marvic wheels and floating disks. Wrapped the front turnindicator lenses in red foil and deleted the mirrors. Stunning bike!

Back in 1995/1996, I passed up a used 888, because I had my heart set on a brand-new M900 Monster. Twenty-four years later and I'm really starting to regret that decision!

Twin port injection , no starter motor , just a paddock stand , should have a box of spares that came with it , they sound amazing with those verlichi pipes , I recommissioned one about 15 years ago it had been abandoned in a warehouse for about 12 years , it had done only 4 laps around goodwood then put away. The factory made less than 20 and were supposed to be sold to factory approved race teams , to be honest if you had the money you could get one .

For the street you are correct. In 89 the strada was/is 851, but this bike is 888.
