Sold my '92 851 in '96 for £4500. Always regretted selling it. It had some nice features like the fold-out pillion grab handles under the seat, and of course the fuel injection which was so rare for the time. Tricky bikes to ride at first, I remember stalling it about five times the first time I rode it.
Oh mate that’s a shame, at the time you think your doing the right thing, when I think of some of the bikes I sold (or crashed) , was good to ride one now, obviously not like todays Panigale but you know your on something special
Thanks fellas defo the best bike channel out there ,it's nice to see bikers who know what they are talking about when it comes to the classics my first bike kh250 in 1976 on to a z1000 in 78 then a 900 Z1B my dream bike and still is but I love these new Ducati s think you would like to see mine and a couple of my mates bikes a Laverda Jota 1000 and a Ducati 900 ss Bevel all three bikes are mint condition, were thinking of having a day out down to your shop to meet the guys and a look around if that would be ok with you I will let you know when, that's if you don't mind ,cheers
Thanks a lot , really appreciate it, hey we just love motorbikes and are lucky to get to ride all different ones so I try and show you’s , that’s some cool bikes yous have got there ( we do have some that come to the shop now and then) of course come down , always got time for people down here :)
I was lucky enough to import an 851 about 5 years ago from Germany. First ride I found it to be an awkward clumsy thing until I got it out of town and pushed it harder, then it made sense.. I found the harder I tried the better and more fun it got .. great bike love them.
Stu Sne yeah exactly that mate, when I first got on it felt heavy but once moving it was good, I know you could probably get a bad one , like all old bikes but for something 30 years old it’s still good, obviously not like a Panigale but for it’s age it’s still a good bike
Your videos are awesome, very professional and also very funny ! Have you ever tested a Ducati 916 or 996 or 998 ? I did not find any video on those iconic bikes and would be eager to see one. Greetings from France
Bonjour …Thanks , really appreciate it, glad you are enjoying them, well funny you should say that.. will have something hopefully soon on a 996… and In France …..just something coming up in next couple of months ..shhhhh don’t tell anyone :)
@@ProjectMoto Happy to hear that ! I just sold my 1198S Corse to buy a Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak after having seen your video on this amazing bike. Now I start to look for a 916 or 996 or 998 as a second bike to go back to roots !
I am 5’8 .. obviously everyone is different but I found the riding position ok , nice old school sitting inside the bike rather then perched on top like a modern bike
Very nice video! Makes me think of my 888, which I sadly sold about 5 years ago.... Now I have a look at the again and prices have gone up with app. 80% :-(. Bugger.....
TheDucpilot thanks a lot, yeah the 888 is one of my all time favourite bikes , see one at a trackday the other week, just looked awesome... and yeah the prices have gone up a lot over the last few years
@@ProjectMoto I start it up every weekend, and also do some short rides near Laguna Beach, CA. But mostly just a collectable for me. I have other bikes to ride more frequently.
Love the intake sound on that V2 but prefer the looks of the 851.....Have I ever mentioned how much you look like a pecan nut...a pecan nut with a grey beard.

Panigale is fantastic, but 851 is epic 👌
Agree , as good as the Panigale is, literally the best sports bike there is …but these are just awesome 😎
Love the look of those bike's 🥰
Shane Phillips same here mate, one of my all time favourites , and the 888 , still look so good today
Considering buying an 851. How tall are you and was it a tolerable riding position? Thanks👍🏻

Awesome , you have one of my favourite bikes 😎
Miss mine….
I bet, they are really nice 😎
Ih ave the same bike with just 1,100 original miles
Wow that’s low mileage , you ever get to ride it at all or is it in a collection/on display? Bet it’s really nice, love the 851

Jucati 😆
Yeah I don’t know why the manufacturer spells it wrong with a D?? it’s a jucati mate 😂

It’s the sun that makes my beard look lighter 😂😂
