I eat whatever grows on my property... even if that's white tail. ;)

    We've never ate Pumpkin soup, but we are going to try it now ! Y'all made it sound like something that we would like. I'm glad that you informed the public about GMO seeds. Are y'all going to have any Cherokee Tan Pumpkin seeds, to sell ? I am growing Seminole Pumpkins, right now and am anxious to lay hands on some Cherokee Tan. Are your Pumpkins setting fruit ? Our Blue Bayou Pumpkin , that we ordered from you, are growing and we can't wait to see our first pumpkin.

    Carrots planted close together will cross breed. Know this if you plan to collect seeds. I dug all the wild carrot out of my carrot beds today and gave them to my rabbits today for this reason. You've gotta have a great tilth to your soil for Viper Carrots. I planted mostly all round carrots bc I'm still improving my soil tilth. I planted about (8) different round carrots. Handsome shirt and cap Travis! Your giving your wife something to look forward to:-) I've been watering my lettuce am and pm to ward off bitterness. It is so pretty. I'm growing Johnny's Ridgeline, a romaine and Botanical Interests Oak Leaf. It looks so pretty who needs flowers. Up here in PA we need to prep for winter like my rabbit who is again shedding and the tent worm that showed mostly black unlike last year that showed mostly a lighter shade until the very ends. We are in for a doozie of a winter! I laid eyes on one of my (2) shovels in the basement today. I've got regular and spicy Mesclun mix planted. Up north I've planted Ice Queen, Icy Emerald, and Igloo just to mention a few. There are far too many types of onions. Radish is a MUST grow for me here in Pittsburgh, PA. It winter kills and leaves a wonderful tilth to my soil in the upcoming spring. I is easily broadcast unlike oats which need to be planted. I have already stepped on many of my radish cotyledons in planting mums and Butterfly Bush but I planted 5# so there will be radish. August is a perfect month to plant them in PA. I will plant some turnips for my own guilty pleasure. Excellent show! Thank You🍆

      @@gardeningwithhoss Just planted another Butterfly bush that I got on sale. I have (12) roses to plant that I got on sale for $6.99 each and you know they retail for $39.99 each. I've got to transplant my Brunswick Cabbage, Red Bull and Jade Cross Brussels. I'm going to look up on line how much light they need. I found out "Like most vegetables, cabbage needs at least 6 hours of full sun each day; more is better." The question is whether to plant these jewels over near my evil nbr where I have others planted, mid property, or in the back southern garden. I think I'll do mid property.

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure which varieties were genetically modified. But the important part is that those GMO seeds can't be bought by the general public. That's why we said there's zero chance of buying them accidentally.

    Thanks for all the great information, really enjoy watching each week. Just wondering what corn seeds are coated with that makes them pink. Thanks again for all the great products.

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our hybrid sweet corn seeds are coated with non-systemic fungicides like Thiram and Fludionoxil. These are pretty standard for all hybrid sweet corn. They are non-systemic, which means they don't get inside the plant. And their half-life is usually pretty short, so they're not sticking around for a while in the soil. We don't sell any seeds with systemic treatments that get inside the plant and subsequently inside the fruit.

      Yes, double rows on drip tape. We've got several videos showing the process. Drip tape does well in fall. When buried, it doesn't freeze. It also empties well so there's not much water inside the tape to freeze.

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      80 lbs per acre is the equivalent of 1.84 lbs per 1,000 square feet. If you use a fertilizer like our 20-20-20 or Chilean Nitrate that's roughly 20% nitrogen, you would need a little less than 10 lbs to get that 1.84.
