You could probably get a road (or even just a path!) under the elevated highway intersection to connect this neighbourhood to the uni area. Might help with connectivity :)

I'm not having much depression. But I'm quite ill, there are a number of days I just can't turn the pc on to play. I do feel on those days that these videos give much the same pleasure as playing does. So Biffa helps our mental health.
"After eightea" would be nice for this area, I think. Maybe you could add some paths for cycles, a tram‐stop and paths under the autobahn for pedestrians and cycles to the rest of the city.

Also, at 34:08 the one side of the intersection has both lanes forced to turn into the new housing area.
33:01 You only allow right turns from where the road comes in on the right side.
The backside of my house shares a wall with the Cemetery: best neighbours ever! Not a single complaint!

I'd love that irl! Maybe I'm weird, but I think cemeteries are great to stroll around on. No one will bother you and there's always something to look at.
It's a bitter sweet feeling finally getting to this video. Been bingeing this entire series back to back. It sucks that I'm now at the end of this playlist, waiting for another upload but it means I can go watch another of your playlists.
While sorting out some of the mass transit, I feel like it is a perfect opportunity to add a monorail stop. Maybe not run a track all through the community, but have one station along the outskirts where the track already exists.
Put an elevated monorail next to where the motorway is and have it connected to an existing line or add a new one
Can confirm there must be 5 pubs for every church, or 1 pub for every 4 homes which ever is greater. For name "Steeping Kettle" or could you rename one of the pubs to The Steeping Kettle
Love the new estate. It could certainly use a few more paths esp. on the outside next to the motorway and metro. Speaking of the metro, maybe give them a stop?
Loving the new build, Biffa! Need more UK based shops to avoid keep get pub after pub occuring. I must admit my UK city also suffers the same issue.

I was thinking on the road where the 2nd and 3rd exits of the new area comes out it might be appropriate to have some high rise buildings in there. Perhaps frontage of shops onto the road and then a collection of taller buildings in the area. You could then add a metro station onto that side of things, which would likely benefit everyone in the area.
I think high rises would clash too much but dense with high rise ban so "mid rises" might work. I agree on the metro.
@@kaltaron1284 My thought would be "what would planners do". Given a nice housing estate and plenty of great schools for the kiddies, they would want to glom on as much housing for low to middle income to match up with this otherwise lovely housing estate. So you might have a build up, but it would most certainly end up with at least a couple of higher rise buildings in the mix, maybe 1 or 2 streets in. Certainly the makings of a local high street, public transit, some low rise office buildings that would probably have government services in them, and the like. Oh, and kiddy parks.
@@OldManBadly Having mid rise on the other side of the street as well and then going higher (housing and offices) might look good but some of the high rises would look out of place next to the bungalows IMHO. Using the rest of the space next to the terrace houses for mid or evenhigh rises could look nice and help with filling up the population needs.
24:15 The shops could use an outlet directly out on the main road to alleviate the traffic at the main T intersection at 29:39. And there should be another way out by the schools onto the East Kettling road by that high density neighborhood next to the roundabout at 34:21
Love the new estate - adding trees toward the end totally transformed it too! I don't know that I know very many bungalow-only estates though - I would say certain streets or areas of a development might go to bungalows with other streets being houses would be more common but really love the way it looked 🙂
The 4lane road with bus lanes that goes into your new section has part of it only letting traffic into the new section. The two lanes both turn right. Maybe you want to let one carry on straight?

Hey Biffa - you should call the district Sunshine Parks or Sunshine Estate cause the roads look like a sun! Plus it’s really flat so all the houses would get lots of sun.

the town I grew up in had the Library in the same building as the town hall, which also housed the police department, and had the ambulance services directly across the street.
I can’t remember if your using the parking mod that keeps track of buildings that need parking but if so the schools and shopping areas might need some. Also don’t forget the walkability! Otherwise I love the video! Thank you for giving me something happy to wake up to!

Thank you for your recent video about timed traffic lights. In my current city i came to a intersection that i cant just add a round about or yield signs. Your video inspired me to test timed traffic lights, and now i have several in my city and traffic is flowing better than ever! Im now at 78% traffic flow now with the timed traffic lights, i was at 23% before using the yield signs.
I feel a memorial for the queen would be nice to see. 😔

Hi Biffa. I've noticed that the junction with the bus lane roads into the new housing estate is forcing cars into the housing estate!
Came here to post this. Both car lanes are left only, leaving the bus lane as straight ahead. (Not sure that's helping the bus lane either.)
It was fine when he made the auto-adjust on the junction. Seems like that got improved in regards to bus lanes but then the roundabout messed things up and he probably didn't do auto-adjust again.
an underground walk/bike path connecting the new housing complex and the triangle shopping park would be nice

You could add one of the fancy new elevated metro stations on the squared of shopping place so the people in the district could be hooked up to you metro setup?
That would help this new area for transport quiet a bit.
Aside from that I love the new district it fills the place really nicely
It just makes me giggle that you pass over some disaster or another in the last few episodes, pause, and then keep going like nope not gonna worry about it. I find that hilarious.

You could put some allotments in the larger gaps between the backs of the houses. That would be fairly realistic

Nice build Biffa, but one thing I will probably never understand: you preach road hierarchy but often enough ignore public transport hierarchy.
A bus line should either be a collector to get people from a neighborhood to a higher tier or be a "point to point" line with few stops to connect hubs. Your lines are quite often a wild mix of both going all over the place. Didn't you delete one of those messy bus lines in a recent city fix and replaced it with proper, local lines? 😉
You have a monorail line right next door, so you could create a local bus line that meanders through the area and feeds people to the monorail and maybe some other "tier 2" PubTrans like a tram that gets people to neighboring districts.
Alright, he's going to build a new area. Look at that metro! That's prime to swing off in a new direction... Oh no, the contractor puts in wibbly wobbly roads with no transit. lol
Oh no, I've reached the end of this amazing playlist... I absolutely love this city, but Feltham gives me massive American suburban vibes, or at least very un-British. Not being British myself (I'm Dutch), I'll obviously believe you if you say that there are lots of neighbourhoods like that across the North Sea.
It's been a blast watching you build this city and I can't wait for the next episode!
If you keep the pubs in the market square, I say it should be called “The PUBlic Square” :)

I feel as though a big area like that would have through roads. Not just two access roads on the same side.
Also 30:01, an asymmetric road would help.
Some sort of foot bridge to the shopping centre wouldn't go amiss either.
Love your new area, defo seen loads of these type estates around England! Only things I feel its missing is a little community centre (where they'd do coffee mornings and go on coach day trips) and a little "shopper-hopper" bus route to town and back, then it would be perfect.
This is a neat trick! I'll give this a try. Last video you did ask to put videos of detailing in the comments... and I recently watched "Flying Train Park - Asturis 13" where he's building with the procedural objects mod. My mind was blown. And I hope you might give this mod a stab.

please can you build a erea for recidential were you only place the zone and not thuse the buildings your self .( thus let the game disite witch buildings to build from all the british buildings you have)
Fantastic, as always, but I'd like to see more paths/alleys connecting the various cul de sacs so that people can walk more freely between areas.

Might i give the suggestion for the small remaining area to be super high density (we need people!) maybe some skyscrapers? perhaps it will offer as a nice counter balance to the bungalows. Cheers!
I'd to see you RCE & FewCandy do a collab. Like the top gear trio, you could be set challenges, or given (the same) 'broken' cities to fix, or projects to build, and we get to see 3 different creators solve the same problem in their 3 different ways.
Alternatively you could take turns setting evil challenges for eachother.
Bottom line is, those of us that known all 3 of you, will love seeing the crossover, and for those that only know one or another of the channels get introduced to new creators. Good content for us, new subscribers for you.
The only downside I can foresee, is two of you taking the challenges seriously, whilst RCE just puts knobs on everything, but is that really a downside?

Both north bound lanes are right turn into the housing estate. Makes for an interesting one-way traffic system similar to the industrial train docks with all the trucks.
Hey Biffa! Loving the new area. Just a tip, I think it would be great if you built areas with Ped/Bike infra in mind, instead of going back to it after the area is built.
I really like this new estate, it looks like a very nice place to live! I think the night market would actually fit in really well, but with the upcoming pedestrian update maybe a pedestrian shopping area? Since you mentioned this is a place where mostly the elderly would live and/or young families with kids :D
Hey Biffa, I think it will be a great idea using the tram in this state just for internal movement, so the small shoping center can work as a mini-hub. For avoiding too many trafic, you could separate it from the entrances and exits of the state, what do you think?

Name idea for the new estate of bungalows: Tea Cozy. I can't help thinking of old grandmas with crocheted tea cozies when I think of tea-related terms to connect with an old person's estate.

The right turn off the main road (where you had the roundabout) is forcing all lanes to turn into the subdivision. It may not make the traffic worse, but it is making the through route less attractive and adding vehicles where they don't want to be.
I can definitely confirm, people have no issues what-so-ever about living next top cemeteries! Gotta say, this looks a lot like many welsh estates I've driven around. The main thing missing to make it feel really welsh, is a small industrial estate. Even the multiple pubs works! :-P
I like the build. And thank you for explaining some aspects of the Find It mod. I kind of neglected that mod but you make me think maybe I'm missing out on something with it.

That's really a cool british city I would love to visit, only a thing is absent for it : an old monument place in the sort of center of the city, like a castle or any historical place ! Just enough to make a main room for a visit embellished with the typical districts of England ! Hope it gives you ideas !

Absolutely love your videos just recently binged watched them :D, is there anyway you could add a moat around your castle area, and maybe a few more supermarkets like Tesco Morrisons etc as there are always so many in cities and towns, and also maybe worth adding a coffee shop in the business district :D

Near where I live there's an elderly housing development called "Leisure World" which is pretty similar to this. Maybe a fun name for the new area would be "Teasure World!"

Hi Biffa, I don’t actually mind the shopping area (quirky and impractical layouts are quite British, wouldn’t you say?) What I would do is change it so that the shops face inwards with a car park in the middle, perhaps with some trees and greenery for decoration, and an external carpark for spillover. This would make more sense to me, as then you would not have to circumnavigate the whole complex to reach a shop on the other side. I think it would seem more like a retail park that way. The outer ring could be for lorries and the like.
Great Trick, Definitely going to use it in my own city, as I'm terrible at trying find the buildings that I want for a particular estate (even with find it, cos I can never remember the name of the creator or the name of the item I want to use), as always another great estate that fits in perfectly with the rest of Blightea on the Wold, Would love to see another estate with Detached houses, maybe next to the new Feltham estate, give a bit of contrast between the bungalows and the Detached housing on the other side of the road. Also you say, "oh jumpy game" so much you might as well add it to the merch. Thanks again for yet another enjoyable episode, Biffa.

Loving the city and series. I think the mini roundabout would still be the right approach. However you forgot your lane mathematics! You had a 3 lane road going straight into a 1 lane road on the roundabout. So all the cars were crashing into each other. You wouldn’t have a roundabout with fewer lanes on it that the road you are on going into it, usually it would have same or more lanes. So a 3 lane road would have been minimum required.
Very funny to see that because of your special UK building style the traffic is getting blocked :-))

Biffa you should build a trolleybus line for one of the new areas you build. There used to be lots of trolleybus lines in the UK.
Edit: possible name for the district with the trolleybus line could be Tearolley, Tea-Rolley, or TrolleyTea.
how about adding a metro stop along the main road? i was there were multiple lines ending right before this estate. i think having almost 5000 people is enough for a metro.
