The fact that Judy was able to be a Mother that her kids love and adore, despite Hollywood trying its hardest to destroy her, shows what a wonderful soul she truly was.

My heart does actually go out to Christina Crawford because I am actually open to the idea that much of her recollections of her mother are true. Yes she may have written what she wrote out of revenge but also healing and wanting to open the door for other victims of similar circumstances to come forward. It sounds like Liza had a different experience with her mother - difficult at times but not in the same way and nowhere near as bad as the media depicted, and Judy was much warmer and more vulnerable. I've always admired the way Liza talked about her mother.
Over and over Liza was asked about her mom throughout the years, and over and over she always spoke lovingly and honestly about how her mom loved her and that they were just a normal family. Liza is a beautiful person, you can feel the love she had for her mom.
If Judy sounded like Liza while doing an interview, the press would have accused Judy of being drunk or high, especially if she slurred her words like Liza was doing. I appreciate that Liza said some very very nice things about her mom. Which I truly believed. I don't believe that Judy ever was worried about Liza showing her up, Liza's not that good. She isn't in her moms class. A couple of those tapes they showed of her singing with Judy, Liza hit some very bad clinkers, Liza is talented, but, not as good as her brilliant mom. Lorna's a better singer than Liza, but neither no longer have any kind kind of a voice left. And Liza showed some arrogance about herself during the interview. I do like that Liza talked about her mom being a genius. I've got more but, i'll stop now.

I think Liza should have returned to her Mum in London instead of staying in New York ok? Her Mum asked her coz she needed her! But Liza told her she couldn't!! As she was under contract! And her Mum( Judy) said to her break it! And Liza told her I can't Momma! I can't let the audience/people down! If Liza would had said, sod the contract! To be with her Mum! Judy would have lived a lot longer! 47 is no age these days is it? Just my opinion!!
...Why can't these celebrities get the clue, through *ALL* of Liza's interviews, that although Judy suffered from depression, and struggled in Follywood...she was *still a great mom* ??? Yes, she was brass...but, it was rooted with immaculate Love. I totally loved Judy. And I Adore Liza. ♡
You really hit the nail on the head. I know people try to transform Judy Garland into some kind of super human goddess. She was an ordinary woman with an extraordinary gift. She was so horribly abused by the industry and it makes me so sad. They took and took from her. I'm sure there were ugly sides to her personality, like all of us have. She loved her children desperately. I truly believe she loved her children and wanted to give her babies what she was deprived of as a little girl. I've watched her interviews and she was a very witty and intelligent woman. Liza is her own genius. I believe what Liza is saying in these interviews. There was substance abuse that probably wouldn't have happened had the studios not mangled her emotionally and physically. God bless all her kids. All three of them are pretty cool people.

Judy Garland has always been my personal icon. Her acting and music was amazing. Gone way too early. Liza is just like her mother...Every single year I watch "Meet me in St. Louis"...and pretty much cry every time I watch it. What a great human being.
I've lost track of how many times I've seen that movie. Would you believe that I'm looking at it right this very minute? I never get tired of seeing it ❤
Whoever put this together: thank you. It must have taken a very long time. Especially considering that it's not like putting together a compilation of modern interviews, where everything gets uploaded to TH-cam and you just grab clips from each video and string them together. These clips are from the 1950s onwards. Hunting them down will have taken a long time. Interviews like these ones might only have existed as a reel of tape for decades, which could easily get forgotten about, lost or damaged. Whoever put this video together has created a historical artifact just by hunting down these clips and putting this compilation together. Many of them may well have been lost to time otherwise.
@@kevinburke6055 It's too bad her marriage to Jack Haley Jr. didn't work out. That was interesting, Dorothy's daughter and The Tin Man's son as a couple.
Liza is the epitome of class and kindness, always saying positive things about her mom. Unlike other celebrity children like B.D. Hyman, Christina Crawford, etc....Liza truly loved her mom and is such a warm and good person.
Not all parents are the same and some haven't been good parents because of their own issues, like Joan Crawford. My mom was a borderline and paranoid schizophrenic. She was a psychological mess who did the best she could.
@brianwalsh1401 yeah and just because someone loves their mom doesn't mean they were good mom. Judy did best she could but she certainly floundered. I think Liza had a lot of denial about her childhood.
I swear I never knew How Sweet Liza was. And how dedicated she and Judy were to each other. And she always had to hear about how she was just like her mother, she just couldn't be herself....it must have been hard but liza handled it with dignity.....and with kindness
Judy and Liza reminds me of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher relationship! If Judy was still alive she would be So proud of Liza! Way to Go Liza for being who You are! You are Truly an inspiration!
Liza absolutely dotes on her mama, makes me love Judy even more, I also have a fondness for Liza too, so respectful. Make me wish I was born way earlier than I was to appreciate them more. My generation don't have a clue about real talent
imagine having to answer the same questions over and over and over again. Liza handles this so well, giving an interesting answer every time without being repetitive!!
My gosh, Liza inherited a lot of things from her mother: her looks (especially those eyes), her way of talking, her energy and that same incredible talent. Liza is a good daughter, very loyal and positive about Judy.
Liza always spoke her mind. It's funny at 4:40 she asks her if she could go down the yellow brick road and ask the wizard for one wish what would it be? lizas response is. That you wouldn't ask me another question about my mother. That is classic.
I love her so much. She doesn't get enough credit for actually completely understanding every thing about what performing is - and for having done it far better than most.
I've never heard anything about her not understanding completely about performing. Why would people say that, when as a child, you learn from osmosis when your parent excelled in the entertainment industry. I mean my daughter's first modeling jobs were walking at NY Fashion Week because I'm a former Paris Haute Couture model. It's really a like a master class into the business.
I love how she's inspired and been influenced by her mother but very much carved out her own niche. It can't have been easy and I love how beautifully and respectfully she talks about her mother.
Wow. Good for Liza! When she got older, I thought she was a nut case. Not at all. She inherited her mom's charisma and talent. As we all get older, our flaws are more exaggerated. I love that she defended her mom and was proud in general.
1:13:50...I want to apologize to Liza, for being one of those many people, that loved her mom *So Much* , that we hated their derogatory media too, and we desperately grieved at the loss of her mom...to the point, that we desperately desired to hear her sing her mom's songs, with the voice that she inherited from her mom. I totally understand, and respect the letting those songs lay to rest, with her beloved mom. She and Judy had a pact of love. I SO Admire that. You're a darling Liza. ♡♡♡ May God bless you. You are the ideal, perfect daughter. Never doubt that. ♡
Liza, is the BEST daughter a mother could ask for - even after the media dragged Judy's personal issues out of the closet, no matter how it affected her, Liza stayed LOYAL to her mother - even after her mother's death. The world loves to hear about the bad stuff and Liza could have made millions off of a "Tell All, Share the Garbage" book, but she didn't do that...Liza is the perfect model of what a daughter and best friend should be! Being the child of such a huge star is extremely difficult - especially when you're trying to make your own mark in the business and everyone is so focused on your mother's life they overlook your extraordinary talent. Good girl, Liza -
I think LIza's greatest moment was in "Caberet," with Joel Gray. I think of all the great women who played the part on Broadway, Liza WAS Sally Bowles. She was simply born to play the role. I really enjoyed this video, thanks for posting.
tiffsaver: I really enjoyed Liza as Sally Bowles role in "Caberet", too. I recently saw an interview where she described how she came up w/ Sally's look. I had always assumed that the director or make-up artist(s) for the show would have created the look, but Liza said she had a very firm idea (in her mind's eye) about how Sally should look, so she actually cut her own hair in that very distinctive style (having a stylist clean up the edges, once she got it how she wanted it). THEN she passed a make-up supply store while walking down the street - and saw in their window the various sets of long eye-lashes.....She bought several pairs & also purchased a set of individual lashes. For Sally's look, she applied a few pairs of eyelashes, then topped the look off with several extra long individual lashes ON TOP of those already applied pairs of lashes. She commented that she had a friend of hers (who was a drag artist & familiar w/ applying false eyelashes) help her accomplish the actual applying, since she was new to false eyelashes & felt she needed some help with creating the desired look. Liza went on to say that the Director almost passed out when he first saw her (after her transformation). She said, "I was real lucky that he liked it, otherwise I don't know what we would have done!" I found this info astounding, as I just always assumed there was some sort of artist behind the scenes that created this VERY distinctive look. Liza was & IS a very creative artist - even down to the minute details....Guess that's her Minnelli blood shining through! ;-)
I ADORE Liza in Cabaret. Her voice was Astonishing and her character was great. By far one of my favorite musicals and movies in general. She took that role and owned it.
Liza Minnelli is quoted as saying, 'I was never much of a singer, but I did know how to present a song. Honey, I've been doing it for twenty years'. This was not false modesty, I think. However, I disagree, she is one hell of a singer and yes, her presentation is faultless. She truly is a great star. God Bless my darling.
I caught earlier in the interview, or maybe on the first half of this post, where Liza says she didn't have her mom's gift of a voice. She said she had to learn how to present the song because she didn't have her mom's talent. Which to me is total nonsense! Liza has a fantastic gift just like her Moms. They're two extremely gifted singers. They both could sing their stinking faces off.
Judy's voice was such a force of nature. Her early live radio recording of "Broadway Rythmn" on the Shell Chateau Show in 1935 is somthing to listen to because she was only twelve years old. I understand Liza's insecurity because Judy Garland's legacy is just that powerful to live up to.
I loved the story she told on the Phil Donahue Show about how she was on stage singing with her mother! LOVED IT! Great to see her siblings in the audience, as well! ♥️♥️♥️
Liza seems so down to earth and self-possessed in these clips, and it makes me sad thinking of the struggles she's had in mid-life. She was also just absolutely beautiful as a young girl.
goodness , only 35 minutes in and I already got weary of hearing reporters ask liza about judy - I can't imagine what it was like to go through that for years! And as Liza repeatedly said , it's not so much that it's annoying to be asked about her mother , it's just annoying that usually the person doing the asking is heavily framing the questions based off of the perceived tragedy Judy went through ... and keep pressing and pressing for a sad anecdote as if they get off on someone else's pain. The fact that I have only watched 35 minutes of this so far and am already tired makes me realize how composed and gracious Liza was. Always smiling , looking to the bright side - at least publicly. You can tell that she was raised by a former vaudeville star, those performers knew what it meant to go on with the show.
I really am touched by her loyalty to her mother all the decades of her life being asked she never once bad mouthed Garland No doubt Judy was an absent mother for huge swaithess of Liza's life despite the fairytale she tells I get the feeling that underneath the surface chaos of Garlands life Liza knew her mother loved her and really to a kid what else counts? which is the source of her loyalty
I don’t believe that. Judy was a working mother like any working mother. Honestly Judy probably spent more time with her kids than a lot of us do with our own.
I think Liza and her siblings have been amazing where their mother is concerned, and very intelligent. I think they knew the press really wanted to drag the darkness and secrets out of the closet through them and they were honest but very diplomatic and generous, probably because despite any real issues, they knew the press could exaggerate and twist things, and deep down, they always loved their mother like you say.
@@winterwilliams3618 obviously not None of them were at Garland's last wedding despite Joe only being 12 and Lorna 15 A very involved mother would have had her children there
After 81 all of her answers about her mother are rote. Pat answers. She stopped giving real in depth answers. She refused to be poked and prodded. Good for her.
She was her mothers twin, completely. Nose, mouth, jae, ears, hands. Everything. They were both so incredibly beautiful. After all Judys children went through with her its amazing to hear them talk so highly of her. To praise her as a mother. I dont doubt she was but I know that the horrible moments usually overshadow any good there may have been. She raised well mannered, beautiful children.
I'll have to see pictures of her father but i definately see judy in her and they have similar beautiful doe eyes :) The way they talk, their humor, mannerisms and openness is also similar and I love the way she talks about her mother.
How dare Barbara Walters accuse them of not being educated (regarding the moving around/on the road with Judy). Liza and Lorna are both very articulate in interviews, always composed (amazingly so!)and sensible. The education they had from their mother and circumstances and experiences is better and broader than any school of books. And the fact that they were never left behind, but always loved and kept with her was the greatest lesson and gift of all.
Joan’s daughter Christina was left out of her mothers will because she was a ungrateful narcissistic brat who to get even wrote a book full of lies & half truths. In some ways it was Joan’s fault she spoiled her two eldest children rotten & it turned both into horrible adults. She was more strict with the two young children who are today wonderful human beings.
I saw Liza in concert in Worcester MA back in the winter or spring of 1983. Her guest star was her sister Lorna Luft. Liza was incredible and so was Lorna....at the time I didn’t even know that Lorna could sing. She was awesome! That concert blew me away....all the while realizing they were Judy Garland’s daughters!!
I remember the exact time I first saw the Wizard of Oz in the theater as a little child and I was soooo in awe....so excited...and I watch it every year especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas - And, I met the last little Munchkin and his wife who passed away 2 or 3 yrs ago and he signed a photo at an event I was attending....happy memories. Easter Parade and Meet Me in St. Louis are two of my other favorites....I watch on DVD from time-to-time. They made some fantastic movies back then....classics that I got my kids and grandkids hooked on and even went to the summer Hollywood cemetery movie night....so fun.
9:24 I understood that sentiment. Her momma was their home & where ever they were as long as they were together they were always home. That’s something a lot of people never understand because they associate material things for stability. It’s never that. I hate it so much that Judy was so scrutinized by the media. That shadow of scrutiny was also over casted on her children as if they owed the public some type of answer as to why they’re so damn happy. As if they shouldn’t be. The media is evil.
I respect Liza and how she posed in front of the interviews. There's this one quote that stood out for me. 25:00-26:03"...[Moral values: Lia's memory about false story on newspaper about her mother]...(L)you need to tell them [press] the truth, so others [public] won't misunderstand... (J)No, let them, build their own legend....I'll live by my own morals.
Judy garland suffered the deepest depression in a time when depression had no treatment, that is the tragedy that garland fought against depression the only way she knew how and succumbed to it in the end 💔
This was great fun to watch! Back to back interviews that have all been nicely joined together chronologically - such a brilliant idea! Just a real treat to watch! Thanks for posting this ~
The Line," I loved it when we made taffy" , put a smile on my face bc of ,that I recall, the (1) time my grandmother and I made taffy, I said ouch too hot ( even with butter on hands ),she said you just need to toughen up -of course they lived through the great depression so that was to be expected, and well what grandmother doesn't want her grand kid to be ready for the world and besides, in the end it's one of the best memories - we're going to go through it together.
Judy seemed like a great parent. You could see how devoted she was to her kids. She didn't neglect or abuse them regardless of her problems. Her strength was super human. Most people would have self destructed long before.
I love how Liza calls Judy "mama",so sweet.we all have life stories,we all fall, even the people called "righteous ",have flaws and downfalls in this life🙂
Wish so much that I could write Liza a letter. One that she would read personally. I have been a life long fan of hers, even in her fan club when I was a Freshman in High School. I adore her, and can see her mother in her in every performance. Fan for life, Liza ….if your out there...
Ron Weasley just write her a handwritten letter, mark is as personal and confidential and mail it to her. Staff will never open a letter marked as such. I do it all the time and always got a personal reply. If you want an autograph, enclose a stamped return envelope, your favorite picture and $10.00.
Judy Garland’s mom is to blame for the struggles Judy had with pills. I saw a documentary which stated at a very young age Judy’s mom gave her daughters ( The Gum sister’s- later Garland Sisters ) meds to wake them up and meds to help them sleep. So they could perform and make money. Later the studios gave Judy diet pills. It is sad. I think it was very wrong to hook a child on these meds at a young age, no wonder she struggled.
Well that's how I Judy Garland got her addiction through her mom see like I was stating that Judy Garland pushed Liza Minnelli into the business because Liza was only two years old when she started in the business unless it does talk like a mom and you see see her mom in her when she speaking and she's happy and funny and tells jokes and stuff just like her mom she has that Krishna
Judy and Liza are literally legend. What I will never understand is why both the press and the powers-that-be in Hollywood worked so hard to destroy one and marginalize the other. Judy and Liza were two brilliant stars that shined regardless of how hard others worked to douse their light. It's no wonder they both had such a love-hate relationship with Hollywood.
Women have always had a hard time in the mans world especially if there was alot of money to made. Men thought they deserved to be paid more in Hollywood and everywhere else. Even today they think they should be paid more.
LIZA SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF HERSELF , SHE RADIATES LOVE , HONOUR AND RESPECT FOR HER MOTHER . SUCH HONESTY AND TRUTH IN LIZA'S ENORMOUS BEAUTIFUL EYES . I THINK LIZA NEEDED AN EYE TEST WHEN SHE MENTIONED DAVID GEST , ONE OF THE UGLIEST MEN PHYSICALLY REPULSIVE AND NOT A LOT OF INTELLIGENCE JUST ANOTHER USER AND ABUSER WHO USED LIZA .
Ask her about her Dad - I get the feeling she would adore it ....I am an ardent Judy fan but I see her love and ,somewhat regret, that no-one asks her xxxxxx
This was the price successful children of Hollywood stars paid back then and even in the modern era to some extent . A lot of people in the media unable to separate them from their famous parents . I even remember when Drew Barrymore used to get asked about her famous Barrymore ancestors
"Life was always speeded up in my family." Unfortunately, her pun was intended, sadly, (the look in her eyes gives confirmation) and at the time of interview Liza was facing similiar issues and how to deal at that time. Not just in one sense or reference to one particular issue, time, or place. LIZA CARRIED A PART OF HER! JUDY GARLAND IS A LEGEND!
I have such respect for Liza. All my life I knew of her but never really heard her talk and I'm impressed. For some reason Liza and Judy Garland were not stars I gawked after. There were other 1930's or 40's stars I was more enamoured of. But now I see them in a whole different light
Exactly! We'll never see a class act like her again when it comes to the offspring of famous parents because most of them fail in the industry and then write their tell all books for revenge and money 🤑
The fact that Judy was able to be a Mother that her kids love and adore, despite Hollywood trying its hardest to destroy her, shows what a wonderful soul she truly was.

@@terrysmith8749 Lanza was only two years old when she went into the business and I don't appreciate people saying that she decided to go into business she was in the business because of her mom pushing her there
I think Liza should have returned to her Mum in London instead of staying in New York ok?

Judy not cussing is just how my mother was. She would tell you off a million different ways but without one cuss! That's a brilliant mind!
Liza has the loveliest spoken voice I’ve ever heard
Judy Garland has always been my personal icon. Her acting and music was amazing. Gone way too early. Liza is just like her mother...Every single year I watch "Meet me in St. Louis"...and pretty much cry every time I watch it. What a great human being.
I've never seen that movie till last year I finally watched it and I'm in love with it ❤I love meet me in st.louis
Liza's voice is the most comforting sound I could ask for!
Her mother's voice was the same
Matt D She’s fabulous!
Ya dude honestly, I'm loving watching this mainly because of her voice and how she speaks.
Judy would’ve been so proud of her daughter Liza.
I'm proud of her too! So gracious and classy and intelligent. And beautiful.

Liza is the epitome of class and kindness, always saying positive things about her mom. Unlike other celebrity children like B.D. Hyman, Christina Crawford, etc....Liza truly loved her mom and is such a warm and good person.
Christina Crawford was abused… very different
Not all parents are the same and some haven't been good parents because of their own issues, like Joan Crawford. My mom was a borderline and paranoid schizophrenic. She was a psychological mess who did the best she could.
@brianwalsh1401 yeah and just because someone loves their mom doesn't mean they were good mom. Judy did best she could but she certainly floundered. I think Liza had a lot of denial about her childhood.
ok but Joan Crawford was an abusive asshole. I hope Christina’s doing well
She inherited her mom's wonderful sense of humor ,this was lovey tribute she fiercely loved her mother!
I swear I never knew How Sweet Liza was. And how dedicated she and Judy were to each other. And she always had to hear about how she was just like her mother, she just couldn't be herself....it must have been hard but liza handled it with dignity.....and with kindness
These interviews are like nosey gossip people asking questions, they enjoy hearing about others who suffer so it seems.

Liza looks like her father, but with the talent of her mother.
Liza sounds just like her mother.
What beautiful, expressive, and deep eyes Liza has...eyes of an artist, actress ☺
I think she's got her dad's eyes.
I love seeing Liza and Judy. Liza is very much her own woman. Very talented and genuine.
imagine having to answer the same questions over and over and over again. Liza handles this so well, giving an interesting answer every time without being repetitive!!
Liza has very soulful eyes.
She has her father's eyes
SO beautiful
My gosh, Liza inherited a lot of things from her mother: her looks (especially those eyes), her way of talking, her energy and that same incredible talent. Liza is a good daughter, very loyal and positive about Judy.
Yes - awesome mannerisms !!!
Liza always spoke her mind. It's funny at 4:40 she asks her if she could go down the yellow brick road and ask the wizard for one wish what would it be? lizas response is. That you wouldn't ask me another question about my mother. That is classic.
40:30
Ok. The response was at 40:40. I stand corrected LOL.
I totally get it! Comes with the territory I guess.
Considering other Hollywood stars ,she was a good mum, who loved her kids and kept them close
Judy Garland.. the evidence of her pure heart shines through in her daughter.
🎉❤
Three words perfectly describe, at least to me, Liza Minnelli.. Smart, funny and TALENTED! MY GOD the woman is enormously talented!!
and so grounded and down to earth.
Loved these interviews. Much respect and admiration for Liza. ❤️

I love how much Liza loves her mother. It is so touching... Judy Garland can rest in heaven in peace, knowing she absolutely did her best.
She said, "I was real lucky that he liked it, otherwise I don't know what we would have done!"
I found this info astounding, as I just always assumed there was some sort of artist behind the scenes that created this VERY distinctive look.
She really is known for Cabernet AND Liza with a Z!
@@KDL861 Yes in her own right for those things besides being the daughter of Judy Garland.

Wow! Yeah!

It pays to be modest if you're the daughter of Judy Garland (and you happen to be a singer). But she has amazing pipes.
Liza is absolutely amazing live. I've seen many of the "greats," and Liza is in my top 5 of the best of all-time.

She seem so well-rounded. Her mom is missed and so are all the other good entertainers.
I loved the story she told on the Phil Donahue Show about how she was on stage singing with her mother! LOVED IT! Great to see her siblings in the audience, as well! ♥️♥️♥️
I would love for Liza to write a book of memories .. she has lived an amazing life.
Liza seems so down to earth and self-possessed in these clips, and it makes me sad thinking of the struggles she's had in mid-life. She was also just absolutely beautiful as a young girl.
I always liked Liza. She had such a sense of humor and is still a cutie patootie!
goodness , only 35 minutes in and I already got weary of hearing reporters ask liza about judy - I can't imagine what it was like to go through that for years!
Troy Talks Same old questions over and over! Liza must’ve struggled with all that. But she is so enthusiastic about talking about her daddy. Cool!
The title says what the topic is.
Almost like the persons asking the questions , just want to hear Liza say something so bad about her mama, but that's not happening, ever. ⚘
I really am touched by her loyalty to her mother all the decades of her life being asked she never once bad mouthed Garland
No doubt Judy was an absent mother for huge swaithess of Liza's life despite the fairytale she tells
I get the feeling that underneath the surface chaos of Garlands life Liza knew her mother loved her and really to a kid what else counts? which is the source of her loyalty

@@winterwilliams3618 obviously not
None of them were at Garland's last wedding despite Joe only being 12 and Lorna 15 A very involved mother would have had her children there
After 81 all of her answers about her mother are rote.
I’ve always loved Liza’s essence. That says a lot about Judy. ☺️
She was the best mother she could be. She lived for her children. She wasn’t Joan Crawford.
She had no role model....that's for sure Judy's mother was evil jmho

9:24 I understood that sentiment. Her momma was their home & where ever they were as long as they were together they were always home. That’s something a lot of people never understand because they associate material things for stability. It’s never that. I hate it so much that Judy was so scrutinized by the media. That shadow of scrutiny was also over casted on her children as if they owed the public some type of answer as to why they’re so damn happy. As if they shouldn’t be. The media is evil.
Wow. Well done thanks! I don't know how she could progress through her grieving process CONSTANTLY asked about her mama.
I respect Liza and how she posed in front of the interviews. There's this one quote that stood out for me.

Sounds good but uhm…...mail it to what address? I don't know even if she even lives in the U.S. Thanks tons...wish I knew the address though.

ONE THING I ESPECIALLY NOTICED WAS WHILST BEING INTERVIEWED BY A HANDSOME YOUNG BLIND MAN LIZA ALWAYS KEPT EYE CONTACT WITH HIM .UH ! UH ! This was the price successful children of Hollywood stars paid back then and even in the modern era to some extent . A lot of people in the media unable to separate them from their famous parents .
I even remember when Drew Barrymore used to get asked about her famous Barrymore ancestors
I wonder how many people don't even realize Drew comes from a long line of famous actors?
I wish people still spoke with such respect and dignity!

"Life was always speeded up in my family." Unfortunately, her pun was intended, sadly, (the look in her eyes gives confirmation) and at the time of interview Liza was facing similiar issues and how to deal at that time.
