- This video will cover each armour kit for every workbench level tier to find the overall best for each scenario. For this video, we will focus on three primary stats which includes projectile, cold and radiation statistics. Armour kits are grouped into workbench level tiers, starting with primitive/level 0 tier kits followed by level 1, 2 and 3 workbench kits. Additionally, the video includes graphs to display armour protection and comparison against other kits.

When I started the game, me and my friends played on a monthly wipe noob server and I remember it took us like two weeks to even leave the base with a weapon and I eventually said to them ‘look let’s find some guides’ and we found your channel and binge watched every single one. I feel like there should be a metric for damage resistance other than AK bullets. The comparison between maybe the semi-auto and revolver would be good info too.
Especially for lower-tier gear. Nail gun, hunting bow or revolver hits seem like a better matchup for the kinds of weaponry you have a reasonable chance of survival against. If you're fighting an AK dude in primitive gear, you're going to have a hard time either naked or in wood armor.
Def make one then!!
It would've made so much more sense! AK hits don't make sense at all considering the tier of these gears.

Just a note, if you have skinbox or a repair bench with you, you can swap the hazi skins between artic suit for cold proc. and hazi for rads.

I live in the snow so this was helpful. I pay attention to stats, I have the wolf headdress, face bandana, jacket, hoodie, pants, Frog rubber boots, and leather gloves it’s good in the cold, when I go for a monument or Chinook loot I switch from leather gloves to roadsign gloves for a little bit better projectile protection. Thank goodness my neighbors are noobs and only bring revolvers because I haven’t lost to them yet. Thinking about running them off entirely but then my fun will be gone.
all you need to survive in the snow day or night is 37C cold
all monuments (except the red card puzzle for launch and the broken cooling tower in power plant) will not go over needing 26 rad protection even puzzle rooms.
and i may be wrong on this one but i believe that scientists do bite damage so a high bite kit is good for oil rigs and cargo

a tip , there are three types of rads in rust :low rads 11% protection needed,medium rads 26 % protection needed(at military tunnels) and high rads 50% protection needed(launch site top or power plant broken reactor)in concluzion the best rad protection its 26%

I've found that the best all around armor for early/mid game is Wolf/Bandana/Poncho/Hoodie/LeatherGloves/HidePants/WoodPantsArmor. It offers 90%Protection/42%Cold/31%Rad/38%Bite. The great thing about this is it only cost 2 SewingKit/45 Leather/55 Cloth/1 Wolf Skull/1 Rope/200 Wood for the whole set! For a solo like me, it really does make a huge difference. I always look at armor with Cost/Protection efficiency. Always abuse the HidePoncho+HidePants combo. They are really inexpensive. You can rock the long sleeve T-Shirt until you unlock the Hoodie. I usually rush the Tier 2 ASAP for Garage Doors anyways. This armor combo can really last you the whole wipe. If you don't have anything or lost all of your sets, just rock a BoneArmor. Just never go out naked honestly.

Nightvision + bandana + snow jacket (dark skin) + tactical gloves, pants, boots, kilt. Snow jacket and pants are enough to stay on a monument in case combat helicopter passes by. I'm sure the projectile protection is insuficient, but this kit allows you to survive a night in snow biome oil rig even if you became somewhat wet durring driving the boat. Tactical gloves help with aim.
Nightvision for flying the mini at night.
A lot of other minor considerations, but nothing beats snowjacket and pants durring looting under a combat heli, very strong utility kit.

I was looking for this kind of guide when I first started, I could only ever find armour guides instead of clothing, I wondered what to wear with my metal armour, but I know now hoodie, boots and trousers with the metal armour, kilt and gloves

You should compare the tier 1 weapons vs the tier 1 clothing. I think that would make more sense than just comparing to ak. Great video though
Your content is super helpful.It would be very cool if you run some simple site with all tables ideally printable. Or it already exists?
Another tip too. Hazmats are not good against scientist. It’s best to use multiple good armor because of the way their damage is calculate. If you notice scientist never headshot because they just hit you for a base damage of you total avg armor. Hazmats have 1 stats while a total avg of a set of armor could = more protection even at level 1

if you have workbench level 1-2 you can craft hella good radiation and cold protection you need: miners hat, bandana, snow jacket, tactical gloves, pants and boots
All AI do bite damage, even scientists and tunnel dwellers.
I love this video too, I know it sounds dumb but I always thought what was the point for wearing armor if I was still gonna die😂, now I know the percentage and feel more confident

Also the t1 radiation kit with the riot helm and bandana will have the highest melee to head protection in the game sitting at 90%
riot helmet, bandana, hide poncho, wooden armor pants, tactical gloves, frog boots and a wetsuit will make you have no radiation in the main launch site building, making it better armor than hazmat suits for radiation
Also i think its %100 melee protect for head

thank you jffar for making a video about armour and thank you for telling how many shots does it take to kill a person with the persons kit but using the full heavy armor thing that you cannot move fast you can use that to kill players fast but with horse is better
they fixed that. You can no longer ride horse with heavy armor

dont forget tactical gloves take away all weapon sway so theyre rly good to buy at lvl 2 aswell

Full hqm and hqm with a jacket are just what I use since I afk for oilrig
So if 1 in essence could eliminate radiation could the said person build a base in a highly radiated area and how long could they survive there while having to leave and come back for supplies and resources

i recommend swapping out burlap or hide boots for leather gloves
If given the opportunity that would always be the better option. However, since leather gloves are a level 1 workbench item they are not included along side the starter kits.
On rust console the protection is all extremely weird. for example The metal facemask has only 8%projectile resistance and the chestplate has 4%. Can someone tell me if armour is just less efficient or its calculated differently.
