I popped my Pikesville last night. DELICIOUS pour. Definitely going to be my go to rye for sippinh. I have a RR SiB rye I haven’t popped yet and a Sazerac so I’m excited to see how those compare. Also have a Whistlepig Boss Hog VII comin in a few weeks :D

My wife and I just did the bourbon trail about a month ago. While on the tour at Buffalo trace a person in the group asked the guide what the best tasting bourbon was. He had a great answer that would probably piss off his marketing person. In a nutshell he said whatever bourbon you like best is the best bourbon. Having said that wild turkey rare breed rye is my favorite rye whiskey.
Started liking bourbons o ly a few years ago,,, then tried and like scotches,,, but gotta say, when I found some good ryes, I am a rye kinda person... Funnily enough, I picked up a Compass Box Spice Tree, and this scotch, for me, is like the best rye ever... Soooo, my favorite rye is really a scotch... True...

Jim beam rye, Russell reserve rye and Jack Daniel single batteries select rye changed my mind. Now I'm gonna go puck up these 2 bottles and a know creek rye
Flight Fight last night! OF 100 added to the mix: 1. Rare Breed Rye- Evolving palate, long finish, mouthcoat is great, complex flavors. 2. Pikesville- Best Nose, Nice coating of palate. 3. OF Rye- Decent Nose, and almost beat out Pikesville because palate is my favorite of the three, but has almost no finish and disappears on the palate.
You guys should definitely do this blind, and throw a few other ryes in the mix. Rye Flight Fight! Flight Fights are probably my favorite episodes from you guys and we will absolutely be stealing that idea from you on our channel. Haha. We will mix it up a little bit though. Thanks for the videos!

Can anybody recommend a good entry level rye whiskey.i love wheated whiskey and bourbon but I would like to expand my world of whiskey and try something new
I do like Pikesville, but for some reason to my palate Pikesville tastes the least like bourbon of any of the lower rye ryes. I get a strong black licorice flavor from it.

OF 100 RYE IS 65% RYE. THAT'S A HIGH RYE AND A DAM GOOD ONE AT $22.00 IN OHIO.
It tastes closer to a bourbon than most any other rye. Its as barely legal as it needs to be for this purpose.
