This was one of a handful of shows that I loved as a kid, even though I barely got to know them. Misfits of Science. Manimal. Street Hawk. Other World. All of them were definitely "Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Being a kid in the 80's, shows like these were bitter sweet. I loved them so much and they had a big impact on me, but it always made me sad when they were cancelled. However, I was too young to understand the concept. As far as I knew, they just disappeared from television and I didn't know why. How could such a cool show like this not be on tv anymore? I would religiously check the schedule for weeks to see if it was coming back, but ultimately gave up when the next short lived, far out show caught my attention, only to repeat the process all over again when it too was cancelled. Sorry to be a downer, but such was life for an 80's kid.

Even though it wasn't on the air for very long, and even though I didn't see many episodes, Misfits of Science made quite an impression on me, and that's why I remember it to this day. I think there was a fad or trend around the mid-80s regarding the science aspect of science fiction. Toy Galaxy, thanks so much for making this video! "Misfits" was my favorite show when I was a kid (had a huge crush on Courteney Cox) and it's sadly fallen into obscurity! Also wanted to add that all of the episodes (including the unaired ones) were run on the Sci-Fi/SyFy channel in the early 90s, I believe on Saturday mornings. I would love to see videos on Sledge Hammer! and Brisco County Jr.! Thanks!

As a kid in the 80s we didn't watch Dallas so my parents showed us these on the main TV of two in the house. I remember us all enjoying these shows like Misfits of Science, Street Hawk and Voyagers, etc. It shows cheesiness but could totally work today. So many involved were on their way but were struck with such tragedy. RIP Misfits. 😇

I finally paid the money for the German 5 disc DVD set around 2014 because I saw that the English audio was on there. Since game systems and DVD players here in America wouldn’t play them because of the region, I ripped all the videos on my computer and can watch them anywhere and with any device now. Once again thanks because this show needs more attention.

YES!! Thank you; I’ve been waiting ages for anyone to create content based on this delightful yet short-lived property. I watched the absolute $#1% out of this show when it first aired, and caught every repeat episode until they stopped being aired too.
Snappy, cornball 80’s theme music to grab your attention, Master-of-the-Universe/Wierd Science fonts to hammer home the production value you were going to get upfront; for that matter, the show came off as a bit more Quantum Leap or AirWolf than Ghostbusters (but you are indeed correct about the niche market it was trying to target).
But what I liked about it & still remember fondly today is how it made a live-action X-men TV show seem possible (and really should be considered one of TV’s earliest attempts to realize, even if the properties were completely unrelated).
You da man Dan, keep up the good work.
