Do Powers (Siddhis) distract you from Enlightenment?

- In this short video, taken from the ‘Ask the Avatar’ session between Paramahamsa Nithyananda and Rajiv Malhotra (for full interview, follow bit.ly/29Xt5Y8), the topic of Siddhis and whether they distract or encourage us on our path to enlightenment.
As Rajiv Malhotra opens the topic, he suggests that the Siddhis are a science. Appearing as a miracle or as magic to people who are unknowledgeable, but experienced as a science to those who have discovered it.
In his reply, Paramahamsa Nithyananda states that there are people who simply disbelieve the possibility of siddhis, and others who feel siddhis are a distraction from enlightenment, which is not true. He then makes a very important distinction between siddhis as per Patanjali’s tradition, and the expression of powers in Sadashiva’s tradition, which is much older. In Sadashiva’s system, known as Shashtanga Yoga, Siddhi’s do not manifest on the way to enlightenment, but from the space of rootedness in enlightenment. Sadashiva revealed his science 60.000 years ago. Patanjali was actually a disciple of Sadashiva, and delivers his system from how he understands Sadashiva’s teachings and as required for the people of his time. Paramahamsa Nithyananda makes it very clear that all powers expressed by disciples of Nithyananda are not Siddhis as per Patanjali but Shaktis as per Sadashiva. The Shaktis do not stop someone from reaching enlightenment, they manifest only when someone is rooted in the enlightenment space.
Someone who expresses powers as per the tradition of Patanjali, if you ask him how he does it, he will say he concentrates and centers himself, does pratyahara, dharana.
But a disciple of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, if you ask him how he expresses the power, all he will say is he goes to that oneness space. That is the tradition of Sadashiva’s Agamas - based on Upanishads, practised as Agamas.
It is not before enlightenment, it is after enlightenment.
Paramhamsa Nithyananda continues by telling that many other guru’s criticise his initiation into healing or third eye. He explains however, that whatever he is teaching comes directly from the Agamas. And Sadashiva is very clear, manifestation of these powers happens when you experience oneness with Sadashiva. Patanjali declares all these siddhis are experience on the way to Nirvikalpa Samadhi, so they can be a distraction from Nirvikalpa Samadhi. But this is because his tradition is different, the structure and architecture of his system are different.
Rajiv Malhotra comments that Patanjali’s system has become much more popular. Paramahamsa Nithyananda explains: Patanjali’s system became more popular, because Sadashiva’s system has the basic requirement of initiation by Enlightened Guru or Master - Shakti Pad. This requirement does not allow the tradition to be mass circulated. Even though Patanjali’s system has become more popular, no one has the right to say that other than that, no other thought currents exist. The people claiming that siddhis are a distraction from enlightenment have not reached the state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi, so they do not have the insight and experience to tell there are other paths and possibilities.
Sadashiva very clearly says: every pattern you complete and acchieve completion, manifests as a power. Shakti, playing with Shakti, manifesting Shakti does not distract but grounds you in oneness in Sadashiva’s tradition. Paramahamsa Nithyananda confirms that his disciples, when they are manifesting powers, are in that space of Oneness, the Turia state, where the brain is in a zone of ultimate awareness and ultimate rest.

I had read lot of Patanjali yoga shastras intreprted by Osho, and had inferred that Siddhis were akways an obstacle to the path of Enlightenment. This Video really gives a clarity and comparison between siddhis and shakthis. A must watch for all seekers. Gratitude Swamiji

It has not been one whole week as yet since I heard about Your Holiness & Your Supreme Greatness from your disciple Ma Swarupapriyananda's videos &, in just a few days, I am absolutely intrigued by Your Greatness & Your kind & loving contributions & instructions to us mortal humans. I truly can already admire not only Your Greatness but also the enormously good fortune of all your disciples & followers who have the opportunity to learn this great technique of Mahadeva Sadashiva Himself from your Holy Self, & in Your Holy presence.
Your videos, & those of your disciples Ma Swarupapriyananda as well as Ma Mahayogananda & some other people featured in some of those videos have so inspired me, & are bringing about such an attractive current of thought in me for You, Prabhu, that I truly hope to have Your Holy darshan some day soon, if You may kindly allow. Already, I feel my vibrations elevated & elevating merely by listening to Your & Your disciples' videos for which I am so very grateful & truly inspired, dear Swamiji.
May I please inform that I am already initiated by a truly wonderful & loving Guru, who is Himself a spiritual supergiant & an avatar too, & have always felt so fortunate to be His disciple ever since I found Him, My true & ultimate Spiritual Master. My Master is a Vaishnav & therefore I have been initiated in the Vaishnav tradition itself. Lord Krushna has always been my Ishta deva but we always love & revere Lord Shiva so much that the mere reference of Him invokes such beautiful emotions of joy & ecstasy in us, that can't be described. I thank my own great Master for such a beautiful connection of ours with Mahadeva Lord Shiva, who has always emphasized on the oneness of Lord Shiva & Shree Krushna/Lord Vishnu in any form.
He always states that without Hara's (Lord Shiva's) permission, one can never attain the bhakti of the Holy feet of Hari (Lord Vishnu). We love Mahadeva Sadashiva & having listened to just a few of your discourses & having listened about you, dear Swamiji, I feel so inspired to learn from You too. Only, I am not sure if it creates a conflict or not because in our Hindu tradition, initiation can only be taken from one Guru, who is your ultimate Master. I truly love my Sadguru, & have totally known & recognised Him as my ultimate Spiritual Master. So I just want to know if it is still possible for me to learn something from You, without You being my Sadguru or direct Spiritual Master. Please enlighten me on this, if possible, Prabhu.
Since you do get to know of all thought currents directed towards you, I hope that you will get to know something about this thought of mine too & help me out with sound advice in due course of time.

Being rooted in Oneness. Impossible things are achieved. When we have so many people who are followers of Paramahamasa Nithyananda Express these Powers ,still many people are skeptical due to lack of information of our glorious vedic past. Media should have seekers of truth who are qualified to understand these phenomenons and can actively be responsible reporters, to convey these super Human possibilities to the Masses.
Men in power world wide need to understand the principles of Oneness, to make the future of Earth and its inhabitants joyful.

Swamiji gives a great explanation on the difference between shaktis and siddhis - siddhis are of enlightenment, shaktis are from enlightenment. I feel so blessed to be Nithyananda's disciple. I read the Yoga Pada and it's beyond amazing what Master has given us.
More than Jesus - Swamiji can make His disciples radiate powers, too.

The powers are manifested only when you are in the state of oneness, after nirvigalpa samadhi...Only when you are in oneness and friendliness, the powers are manifested..they are not sidhis, they are shakthis..
Siddhis are science ,ordinary people not discovered yet.
