    Steve, Have tried you coffee that I purchased at the Holly Land Café at Lowery and Central Avenue, Mpls.,MN. It was stronger than Expresso. I did like it and have some on occasion. During grade school I used a shoe repair shop on the Rum River in Anoka to repair camping gear. Broken rivets were replaced with canvas for most applications. For rain flies on tents extra material was added to support the grommets. The waxed Dacron thread also made a fine bow string for my hunting bow. My contribution during grade school was to watch and learn how repairs were made. When camping on a farm it was common to see boots needing repair. As one might expect the boots were not cared for, and had cracked. The shoe maker was able to get additional life from the boots, and the farmer was happy to have someone around who could fix things or have them fixed. For most purposes, any solution is a good one. Many farms did not have running water or electricity, and were living a comfortable life. Filling the kitchen wood bow, was considered good manners. Leaving muddy boots outside was also noticed. Offering to dry dishes after a meal was a good time to ask about rabbit and pheasant hunting. Many of the older farmers speak the language of the old country. Learning how they grew up was an eye opener. I do enjoy you program.

    I am so grateful that I came across your channel, I truly appreciate watching an old world craftsman at work. One of the things that I appreciate the most about watching your videos is that there is NO music. I hate it when documentary type videos have music on them, I would much rather hear what you have to say. I have a tan and a black pair of Florsheim Royal Imperial wing tips, and a black and a tan pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue, and one day soon I will begin to send them to you to do a little work on them. Thanks again Steve, I love what you are doing.

    More than happy to watch ads for channels/makers that deserve it. How can anyone begrudge supporting artisans who have spent their time to provide content? Especially when the viewer can control to 'skip' the ad if they choose. Keep up the good work. It's always a good day when I see one of your videos posted.

    • @aserta

      I open two instances of the videos that deserve the ad view. I watch the vid without, and let the other one go about its way with ads on. TH-cam doesn't know any better, i enjoy my view uninterrupted, and most important, the content creators get their revenue.

    • @seanhazelwood3311
      @seanhazelwood3311 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that ads help recoup some of the time and money spent on creating the videos. But, TH-cam was ad-free for many years, and was never meant to provide income to the uploader. There, I covered both sides of that coin.

    Hi Steve, Great work!!!! Because I sew I always enjoy when you use your sewing machines. I also like when you sew by hand as well. When my daughter came home from College at Christmas I had to hand sew her new suitcase, which took a beating at the airport. I would have loved to use a hand needle like you have, her suitcase was made from synthetic fabrics. I appreciate your CRAFT/ART so I don't expect you to be a pro cameraman. Your work brings me back time & again not your resolution (is that the right word?)!!!! Most people know what's important, while others' just want free & also commercial free entertainment!!! Take care & God Bless.

    Finally I saw how that sweet fish pattern is done on the sole. It's a painting! Btw, you've mentioned a few times that hot cork is not for repair shops only because it requires special machine. I guess they made it more affordable/compact since, they use it a lot on the Trenton & Heath channel, for example. That hot iron going through that oatmeal paste is very satisfying for the viewers, I have to admit 🙂. But as you mentioned, there is no structural difference, it's the same cork at the end.

    The bottom of those shoes are awesome. The nail pattern plus the cross hatch paint really looks sweet. So what does the happy customer do, immediately puts the shoes on and wear that artwork right off! As I have learned over time in my job is the product needs to look good on the store shelf, not just perform well.

    When you took the toe cap off it looked like something out of a '3 Stooges' episode! Love the video and I get them in 1080! ☮🐱

    Steve you need to make a pair of shoes. Use the TH-cam poll feature to allow the viewers to choose the style, just give us some options to choose from. Great work again. The devil is in the detail and you finish your work so well.

    That shoe you made is really nice! To hell with the toe cap measurements. Aesthetically, it looks great! And I love single monks!

    I must've watched like ten of your videos in the past three days. You do good work! And I think a lot of people don't realize that we wouldn't even have good videos like this if the person making them wasn't making money with the ads. The amount of time it takes to make the videos can't be justified otherwise. But the content is both informative and entertaining, so anyone making content like that deserves the revenue.

    About 12 minutes in and the shoes look demolished. takes a brave man to take them apart to that extend. the end result is again amazing. I love the soothing sound of the mini hammer. it'd just mesmerizing in it's low volume. I think you should overlay the speed up parts with the mini hammer sound.
