Back in 1985, a visiting Chinese official stayed with a local family in Iowa, the U.S. The family were the Dvorchaks, and little did they know that their amiable young guest would, less than 30 years later, become the President of China. Xi Jinping has never forgotten his American hosts, and has made a point of meeting them from time to time over the years.

The world need's people like him at the top to guide the world to a peaceful, green, poverty free, existence with cooperation and friendship. He performed wonders for China, with his kind smiling ,intelligent manner, he is constantly requesting the world leaders to visualize a peaceful world where the masses of the world matter, no country is too small to matter. His truthfulness compared to Western politicians and leaders is so refreshing, the masses of the world admire and respect him greatly for it.

Xi Jinping is such an elegant speaker.
Learning about Xi's life, one learns that he did not get to where he is today the easy way, with silver spoons, like many of the US and UK leaders. I can only think of Angela Merkle and Jeremy Corbin as having had it just as tough.
The chinese political hierarchy is very interesting and promotions are based on merits. People join at the grassroot level and work up the rank starting from a village, with a lower population and GDP. Look up for TED Talk hosted by Eric Li who walks you through the political hierarchy.
No matter what system we have for a country, the most important task for any government is to improve the quality of living for her people. American political institution must have zero tolerance on drug abuse and unrestrained arms possession to protect the general public.
It is a system which rewards aparatchiks. Not to be envied or emulated by a Western democracy.
You obviously never met the types, like Corbyn, who scurry around within the woodwork of lower to mid government their whole lives, hoping for their break.

I think both our countries need to step back and think about how despite ideological differences we both have grown together to the point where our economies are completely intertwined and interdependent and both our peoples go to the other country to conduct business and receive education among many other activities including forming longtime friendships. My grandfather is still good friends with people he met in China on business trips in the 1980s. A war between our two countries would be a complete disaster for both the US and China as well as for the entire world. We should both put the utmost priority towards solving disagreements diplomatically and peacefully without violence
The West doesn't need China though as much as China needs the West. That's a fact. That might be contrary to how it seems, but it genuinely would be the case if push came to shove.
Xi Jinping acted like a tough guy with hard power his whole presidency and turned off exactly the type of people who he stayed with in America, which is about 90 percent of Americans by the way.

Xi might have stayed in America. He may have enjoyed it. I genuinely believe he felt something special was there.
However, he certainly didn't understand what that thing was.
Xi should try to explain this to his successor, this failing to grasp at this strange sentiment. This person might, we hope, possibly know and be able to carry it forward.
I actually feel bad for Xi in ways. I had a dream about him and in that dream he was a simple man who actually has some positive feelings towards the West.
Nonetheless, he has given the West little reason to warm to him and his version of China, so we haven't.

President Xi has good memory of his short live-in in a warm normal American family home as a welcome guest. Till today Xi has never criticised Americans in his personal capacity. Chinese & Americans are warm friendly loving people. For present political situation it’s the US Government that creates all the trouble making in every area.

Human to human interaction are often influenced by what is called 感情 (a special feeling, relationship and emotion for one another).
Very often huge problems can be resolved with a good 感情.
Xi JP had a good impression, respect and 感情 towards his American hosts from his stay in Iowa, an old traditional agricultural state with decent American folks in those days.
It is a pity that the American politicians did not build on this good relationship and be China's friend.
Instead USA politicians chose a confrontational policy that now is putting the world in a serious danger of war and widespread destruction.
