Sell them. I stared at my mistakes for years & felt bad every time I did. The moment I decided to sell them a weight came off my shoulders. Never regretted it. And as a buyer of preloved, I am so grateful to be able to acquire other people's mistakes. Make at least 2 people happy: yourself & someone who would love them. If you're nervous, put them away where you can't see them for 6 months & then decide.
It’s so difficult to let go due to sentimental side of things plus I don’t want any regrets. However I look at some bags and think what else I could buy with the money I would realise. Food for thought!
Deb I felt the total same, I kept buying the Pochette Metis for years and I just didn't love it, never did. I think I 'liked' it obviously, but it never was an ultimate bag for me. Thanks for sharing!
So happy to hear someone else doesn’t love the S lock. Bought the Pochette Métis in the reverse monogram when it was first introduced. Brought it home and immediately returned it due to the S lock. On o other note, I love the new LV Twinny, but didn’t purchase it because of the S lock. Did you consider the Coussin in the Monoglam?
There’s more than just me then! I really don’t like the s lock. I didn’t see the coussin in monoglam but I have another video which will go out later this week regarding bags I am loving - coussin might appear! 😜
@@Wildunfiltered the Coussin was offered in Monoglam here in the US. I’m torn between it and the black Coussin. Can’t wait to see your review and hoping the Coussin will be included! 😉 😉
I’m going to offer a contrasting opinion - I absolutely love the monoglam east west and I think prefer it to my classic PM in reverse. The dimensions of the east west remind me more of a rectangular Chanel mini but more durable and holds a lot more as greater depth. Being somewhat shorter the strap is perfect crossbody on me and I find the bag really functional. I think a lot comes down to personal preference and lifestyle. I use the zip back pocket for travel and work pass for commute I to work. So I think if considering this bag just think about what your preferences are and also your lifestyle as well as what other bags you already have.
Thanks Jo for sharing. I totally agree. It’s a great bag and if it fits your frame and suits your lifestyle then it’s a winner. I adore the look of it - I want to love it but I just don’t. I’m going to try to make it work as it is so stunning. Not everything suits everyone and that’s what makes fashion amazing. X
I am in the minority as I love my original pochette Metis but mine is limited edition with the braided top handle and leather strap…it is the best and softest leather strap I own which makes it a real pleasure to use. I love the satchel look too. The S lock can be annoying if the bag is empty but can put up with it. For me it’s a great travel bag as it’s so organised, lightweight and all weather and with top handle it can go from day to night easily. I hope you figure out what to do with your PM. X
I also bought the monoglam Metis because I just loved the canvas colour it is so special plus the gold chain made it extra. But when I tried it on at home I didn't really love it so I send it back. I felt like if I was in my 20ties it would be just perfect and I know I would have loved it, however somehow now that I am older it didn't look sophisticated enough. It is not dressy enough, and yet too pretty with the shiny canvas and gold chain to pass as casual. IDK it sounds weird but is the best way I can described. I still think it is a beautiful bag but that style no longer suits me.
I relate. My reverse PM is a beautiful bag but it is not my favorite to use with the closure, the stuff strap, and the boxy look. It does wear well and looks practically brand new after three years but like you I am not a brown person. I prefer the eclipse pattern in black and grey in the men’s collection. I wish I had purchased a piece in that monogram. Now I think I’m just not into getting more monogram, but I do wish my piece was black and grey instead of brown. I have preferred my Neverfull in the empriente leather as it is more subtle and easier to style with different outfits. And it is black with a navy blue lining, so the colors suit me better.
Almost bought the east west one that you have. But lucky for me, my husband reminded me not to ever buy any Louis Vuitton anymore because of poor quality. So I just stick with Hermes. I love handbags and am quite a collector, but the quality issues are so frequently real that I can’t get over it.
Ah I can relate so much! I have just sold my reverse monogram PM used probably 3 times, I couldn't stand the lock 😅 and of course I lost about 300eur even with all the price increases!
I have the original pocketed Métis in the black empire it’s. Very carefree. I do like it still (I adored it when I got it 6 years ago) but I don’t love the style anymore either, and it can get heavy and is a bit bigger than I currently I prefer. I don’t like the lock on it. Prevents me from buying any other bag with that lock. The interior of the black one is grey striped and pretty but I have felt inserts in it anyway. I use the strap from the Odeon pm which is thicker and more soft and comfy. Since I got my Odeon pm I do t really use the pockets Métis as much as they are both similar sizes. The east west one is very cute but the strap may be a deal breaker as I am petite all around at 5’2” and only mildly curvy so I don’t like a very long strap. Thanks for this review of pros and cons!
I had two PM’s - one reverse bought in 2019 and the other in empreinte (2021) - both had glazing issues. I’m done with that bag, and they’re both gone.
I can sympathize with you. I had 5 pochette metis’, finally sold one, and I really don’t like the bag. 🤦🏻♀️First one was monogram and mainly bought it because of FOMO. Second was the reverse, I just love reverse monogram. Then I had to have the pink empreinte, this one is the one I use most. Then I purchased the iridescent blue because I had to have the color but didn’t like any of the other styles, this is the one I sold. Finally, the blue 1854, again because I love the print & could only find the blue in the pochette metis. Thankfully, my two daughters love it, so they get plenty of use out of the mono & reverse mono bags. I know now that I will not be purchasing another. What’s that saying, you live & you learn. It just takes some of us (me) longer to learn. 😬
I like the Monoglam, got the Neverfull and use it quite a bit. It is a bit hard to style and quite "in your face" but I love it. Only time will tell if I still use it 5 years from now...we'll see. It is by no means a "classic" but thats what I liked about it.
If you don’t like them, sell them and someone else will enjoy them. It is ok to change your mind too after time and after use.😀. I actually love the button style over the buckle style. I have 3 LVs that use the button small strap and I love them. I have a different frame the you though.
I just like you, I love navy and any blue as well as gray black. Y bag taste has changed as well. We have to be true to ourselves. I either sold or gave to loved ones bags that weren’t working for me.
I’m so tired of s-lock closures! I’m also tired of those straps they are putting on these bags like the one on the EW PM bag! Lordy I wish they’d change that up!
I find it disappointing that a bag the sells for $3,100.00 in the US would have the same awful strap as the Neonoe. LV is just going cheap on their expensive bags. I can see using that strap on bags less than $2,000, but not the expensive East West. I hate the straps that you have to adjust by poking through the little holes even more! I like the East West, but have the original PM in reverse monogram and don't understand the extra cost for even the monogram. So it's been a hard pass for me. It feels like thievery! I will say that the original PM is not a pretty bag, but it is very functional and of course the new East West is way more cute because it is little :
Same! I knew the PMEW Monoglam will be in the hate list sooner or later.. hahahaha. I returned mine for the Speedy 20 Monoglam because the back pocket is pretty much useless and the fuss of getting my phone in/out would annoy me
This is a really great video especially since you are being real about it. To be honest, I only want the metis because I want the monogram shoulder straps to put on my old speedy 🤣 If only the still made the monogram strap
It was such a hard bag to get. I got mine at the beginning of the hype. If I had waited then I could have got it in empriente leather which might have been better x
I don’t love the Pochette Matis but I love love love the look of the East West in Monoglam, but I waited too long and it sold out. Maybe I was lucky... but I still would like one lol.
I have a Saint Cloud, and I didn't buy this one because I thought... they look so similar that it's not even worth it. Sell it, buy another one, and move on. 🌷🌷🌷
The OG pochette is boring, unattractive and uninspiring IMO; somewhat more tolerable in empriente leather. The newer Oxford bag is much nicer as a close substitute. Anyway, I’m more of a Chanel girl 😊
Get shut of ‘em. They are both still popular so if you were to sell now and have done with it, you should get a decent enough price for them… then you can have fun thinking of one you DO love, to buy with the metis money.
