The mini 3 has much more capability than the mini 4K The mini 3 you can do vertical video. The camera can point upward not just downward and straight out. The camera quality itself is much better. Has better low light performance as well. For the price the refurbished I think it's the way to go over the mini 4K. I own the mini SE and the mini 4K is just a light upgrade over that.
