This tragic event already happened similarly before. The station nightclub where the band Great White was having a concert also had the same fire display and it also just took seconds for the ceiling to catch fire after. I do recommend checking it on youtube.

Note how they said “bride’s dress” not “entire venue”. Priorities were not put across firmly enough, this is horrible but blaming the organisers alone is half the picture
Yeah, they didn't think about the venue that much when they refused the fireworks. But the point is that they still refused it. The organizers are still completely at fault for the entire debacle.
@@colonelturmeric558 No one could have expected the venue to burn down. How were they to know that the venue was made from cheap, flammable materials?
My wedding reception was in Amman & from my experience the wedding planners come with the banquet. So if the banquet hall’s own planner was endorsing indoor fireworks there’s no reason the customer would suspect a fire to break out. My husband also feared my dress would be at risk and refused fireworks. Instead my BILs put a firework show after we all got back to the villa that night.

The fireworks were certainly not responsible, but that building went up like it was built out of unused matchsticks. The fire was so sudden and spread so rapidly its a miracle the bride and groom survived. I'd hope that people in that region look at this incident and take more precautions in the future when using fireworks, or other forms of celebration that have the potential to cause harm or damage to property, BUT this is for them to discuss and decide amongst themselves. I think when such a tragedy occurs it is not the job of the world to point fingers at the people and their culture and start dictating what should and must occur going forward.
My heart goes out to these people. What hurts most is knowing the cultural views of that community will make it impossible to find the necessary mental health resources. Being judged and blamed by the community for the incident also means this couple and their surviving family will likely lack the emotional support resources to better cope with this incident as well. Truly sad.
Don't forget those who blame are not in good mental health state of mind. They are full of sorrow and traumatised themselves. Hard to blame them too right now.

Well said.
Who the hell would light fireworks inside in the first place? So irresponsible! They should had used disco ball lighting instead!
Yes, I was thinking as I watched the video how easily her dress might have caught fire. He did right to drag her to safety.

Also, who is the person who set the Pyro's off? They are not supposed to touch a ceiling, so even if it was fire retardant, it will still cause toxic smoke.
