How To Replace A Radiator On The 2006 - 2010 Dodge Charger (The Easiest Way)

  • Hey Good People!
Unfortunately I got the 2009 Dodge Charger back in the shop. Some of you may have seen the previous video I posted where I had to replace the water pump and the cooling system was filled with milky oil. If not, here's the link: • How To Replace A Water...
I wound up having to replace the radiator also. It had low flow, probably due to all the left over gunk and residue of the coolant oil mix. In this video I give you a complete diy tutorial on how to do the job. I rate this job a 4 out of 10 (with 10 being the hardest).
I actually run into an issue with the aftermarket radiator being different from the OE radiator design, so beware where you get the radiator from. I was able to overcome the issue, but you can avoid the pitfall by getting an OE radiator. I ordered this one online.
Once you finish the repair, you'll need to bleed the coolant system of any air that may have entered into the system. I recorded this process in another video. Here is the link: • How to Bleed or "BURP"...
I hope this video helps you. If it does, please hit that like button so it can help others too. Join the tribe and SUBSCRIBE if you haven't already! Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.

Thanks for the video. It was right to the point. I only had to use a 1/4" drive ratchet with 8mm and 10mm socket and just a pair of pliers it made the job easier. Tooling up and pulling radiator took less than 10 minutes. Now just waiting on the UPS truck to drop off my new radiator. Great video!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great video. I love the step by step and the camera work to see the bolts and ect... it worked out fine. The only thing I would add is that I once replaced my front bumper and the greatest thing is that all the bolts connecting the condenser to the radiator and other areas are exposed for easy replacement of bolts. I tried for an hour to put the bolts back in and for me it was impossible and bloody hand on the fins. 3 bolts on each side and a nut and off comes the bumper to save you alot of headaches and bloody hands. Thanks for the step by step and to the video person. Great video. Am subscribed and thumbs up.

Thank you for this video. I had to change one of my cam gears inside the timing, and the only way to get the long bolt out was to drop the radiator. And although it was other videos on how to remove it, yours was the practical one that worked for me. Yeah those bottom bolts are a little tough, but it easy when you finally locate them. Appreciate it sir!

Could have never done it without watching your video and a few others. That was a job I never want to have to repeat. Like I stated before I found out while researching this job that there is actually a factory recall for the fan assembly. The OEM fan blades will I guess get brittle and break. Just so happens the 2007 charger I was working on is not on the list. Bummer! Seems they should have recalled even more vehicles but failed to do so. I also found out that if you have already done the replacement prior to the recall or not knowing about the recall. Chrysler/Dodge will reimburse you for the fan and even the radiator if it is damaged by the fan.

The first thing you should have done was perform a block test, that test checks the head gasket integrity. After you replace the thermostat, did you properly burp the cooling system.
