Ja‘marr and Burrow (the ones from the hierarchy comment) are super tight. They played at LSU together and live right near each other too. So he isn’t afraid to speak his mind to burrow. They don’t just live next to each other. They actively searched for a house for Ja’marr to live close haha.
I love all of this. the subtle trash talk, the good sportsmanship, teams celebrating together, random ass conversations and exchanges, it's all so entertaining to me
normally that's true however if they can't lead or at least not piss off their teammates then they lose it. an example is RG3 towards the end of his time on the redskins
You guys talking about the hierarchy of the team is true. For context though, the guy Chase was a rookie, although he probably was the best rookie of that season.
Good mic’d up but obviously picked from just a few teams. I’m sure there’s a few other versions floating out there. Every team has a mic’d up player for each game. They showcased 4 or 5 teams in this which means there are 27-28 other teams no featured.
They only mic up a couple games typically. Not every game is like that. A lot of players really don't like it, too. Always have to be careful and remember you're on the mic (guys say some pretty bad stuff at times)
@@MST3Killa wrong. They mic up 1 person every game for weekly wired content. Every team has a report and there’s always one player mic’d up during EVERY game for their local weekly shows.
That first stop, they were just messing about. It's kinda like when your mates do something good and instead of complementing them you joke and say they don't know what they're actually doing.
Successful QBs tend to not be the big talkers. They tend to be very professional, but they will get in your face. They are the team leaders, but they're the ones who keep their heads and prevent everyone else from getting to high or to low.
Yes there is a hierarchy and the QB is the most important player AND that WR was a rookie talking tp the QB. However that may be 1 of the only times where he wasn't actually worried or scared, they are college teammates they won a championship together at LSU Burrow the QB was only a 2nd yr player while Chase the WR was a rookie they go back years together.
The players aren't actually mic'd up. There's a company that's worked with the NFL for decades. If you pay attention during a game, you might see a guy on the sideline holding up what looks like a huge glass bowl with some wires attached to it. It's actually recording everything that's going on, on the field. After the game, they use a program that allows them to separate all of the voices, and block out what they don't want. The guy that ran it for decades was named Steve Sabor. His father started the company in the 60s I believe. Steve died awhile back, so I don't know who's actually running the company now. There are many TH-cam videos about them, or using their product.
That’s just for general sounds and some voice. Most the clear audio comes from the players actually being mic’d up. You can hear it pretty obviously sometimes by that “thump” sound when players get hit
You gotta remember a lot of these guys played together or against each other in high school, and college and may have been teammates in the NFL at one point as well. The NFL has a strong and active Players Association and they all know that while they're all trying to win - everyone is just trying to get home to their families in one piece with a game check. For the most part they are competitive and want to kill each other between the whistles, but between the plays and outside the lines there is tremendous respect and camaraderie.
The quarterback can often be the captain of the team and I would think at least the captain of the offense. However teams can have a player that is so driven. Such a team player, he inspires the other so much that even if he's a defender he's the captain of the team because he can rally his men like a general. For instance I believe the team captain for the Ravens used to be Ray Lewis one of the scariest men to ever play the game literally a murderer I mean kill people off the field and then played so good on the field didn't go to jail LOL. When they would make up that guy 4 hours before the game started homeboys walking around getting in people's faces and screaming woo are you ready to go and smacking them. It's like mate the game won't start until this evening it's only lunch time
You can have many captains on an NFL team. Usually there will be at least one for the offense (typically the QB) and one for the defense (typically the MLB like Ray Lewis). However, teams will often nominate players who have shown to be productive players with good leadership and allow the players to vote. For example, my team The Buffalo Bills have 9 captains. Offensive Captains: Josh Allen (QB), Stefon Diggs (WR), Mitch Morse (C). Defensive Captains: Tremaine Edmunds (MLB), Jordan Poyer (SS), Micah Hyde (FS), and Von Miller (DE). Special Teams Captains: Tyler Matakevich (Reserve LB), Taiwan Jones (Reserve RB)
quarterbacks are also going through a whole other game when they are behind the center. they are reading defenses and things like that. not to mention tehy have to know every route a receiver is running on every single play.
Each NFL team has 53 active players, 16 practice squad players, 15 assistant coaches and one head coach -- and that's just who's down on the field. It's very common for people to be teammates and not know each other at all and there is definitely a pecking order. There has to be; you can't have 53 guys who are all equals or nothing would get done. In contrast, each NBA team has 15 players, three assistant coaches and a head coach. They all know each other quite well.
You guys ever come to Kansas City let us know. I’ll take ya to the loudest stadium in the NFL. My treat! There are plenty of videos about the Chiefs stadium and the great food that comes from the pre-game tailgating. Check them out in your free time. You’ll get hooked instantly
They have directional microphones that pick up a lot of stuff without the need to have any equipment on the players, If you look at the sidelines you can see people holding plastic dishes toward the field.
There is 100% a hierarchy. On offense it's the quarterback. Any quarterback who isn't the leader of the offense isn't a good quarterback at all. Many WRs are afraid to piss of their QB too because the QB is the one who decides whether or not he gets the ball. On defense the middle linebacker is usually the leader, but sometimes you will find that just the best player on the defense is the leader, regardless of position.
For that kind of money you can fly to Chicago (round trip), get rental, drive to Green Bay, two night stay in GB, 3 tickets at 50 yards, and watch them kick Bears a** on Sep. 18th. And still have money for drinking Wisconsibly
A great video from you guys would be at the stadium filming you three reacting to the game (not showing the actual game)....wonder if your Patreon could fund tickets for you guys....
3:20 - Actually, lineman are not only the biggest, strongest, and toughest guys on the team, but since they're directly responsible for the QB's safety it's typically the opposite! It's easier to be more flippant with your receivers as a QB considering how reliant they are on you, but the offensive line keeps you alive 👍 Generally speaking, both favorable treatment and unwarranted hierarchy bullshit are primarily coach and back-up phenomena, the starters gotta have solidarity if they wanna win games!
11:08 that sound cool .. hearing them slam into each other like that .. all that fucken testosterone 😂 beasts slamming into one another.. looks like it takes a lot of stress out of you 😂
One reason for the price being so high on the London game is the Packers are, I think, the last team to as of yet not play in London. So that's one reason alone, that a lot of Packer fans or NFL fans will want to try to see them play there for the first time. Another is simply that Packers are one of the contemporarily best/most historic NFL teams in the NFL, so they're kind of a big deal. I think the only reason the Packers agreed to the London game at all (as a home game, no less) is because of the extra game in the season. Green Bay is by far the smallest market in all of major professional sports in the US. It's a city population of 104 thousand people and if it weren't for the team, there'd likely be significantly fewer people living there right now. So for them to lose a home game, the city loses out on A LOT of revenue, which is essential for a lot of businesses in the area. That's always been a consideration that the team has taken in refusing to play overseas, simply that to do so would significantly hurt their neighbors.
Lol there is not a hierarchy in American football...at least not how you think. We do have captns we respect but I've never seen that affect someone's willingness to speak up. There can be multiple captns on one team and it's both offense and defense. If he was skiddish, it was only because he wanted burrows to keep throwing him the ball...that would be a reason to be hesitant to voice concern...but in the NFL, u play those games, the whole team suffers
