    My goodness I can’t stop commenting, sorry.
    Disa uniflora is so beautiful. My favorite out of the bunch of 4 or 6 dozen orchids… I don’t envy the anxiety of getting them prepared but at least they don’t need to be individualized ever, let alone, not yet to divide them at all:
    Time to get creative!
    Wish you the best and happy growing!

      They are classed as 'bog plants' but remember, where they are found they are growing by streams and water run-off - in other words, fresh moving water not stale standing water (bogs).

      @@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai Ohh I learned that they are a bit cool growing. I have no chance to grow them I guess because I am living in Cyprus and it’s sub tropical and extremely hit long summer at least 8 months ☀️😬 I am good with cattleyas, catasetums and phalaenopsis. I don’t use any heater or cooler devices. So I am sure they will be easy in your environment. Enjoy it 💕🧿

    I put off buying Disa's for a long time because I thought they would be very tricky to grow. I have to say that they have been the easiest orchids for me. I grow them outside on my covered back deck all year round, they get full morning sun. Our temp can go down to 1-2 celcius in winter. I use tap water in the tray as our town water is very good. When the water in the tray dries up I top it up to 2 cms depth. I love the yellow and the peach coloured disa's you bought. They are impossible to get where I live, lucky you!

      Most growers pass them by as they need such different care to other orchid types.

    • @LauraStansfield-tw7xb
      @LauraStansfield-tw7xb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai but I find that to be true with all orchids because they need their care adjusted with everyone’s personal environment: I find that I’ve had to alter care with every orchid I have, just a bit. And even somewhat different from the same genus to the same genus. Phal to phal for example.
      But I see why people would avoid the seemingly different care initially.
      These days that doesn’t sound any different than normal, but I have just a teeny bit of experience to go from now.
      Obviously getting an orchid unsuited for an environment i totally understand, but if you prove these to be acceptable in your environment, then I know I’ll be looking to get some myself some as well ^.^

    Just an idea…. But what if you instead of rearranging so much, you hung them from a pole from the ceiling, so they have air and high light.
    I understand they need to be in water so what about self watering pots or not necessarily self watering but something with a small reservoir at the bottom that you could just fill the trays.
    I actually hung a couple of plants (masdevallias) that I wanted to keep cool in a not so cool a time of year for me…so I put them in terracotta pots and then put those pots in plastic pots, with holes and I attached plastic trays to the outer pot so that I can pour water into the tray whenever it’s empty and the terracotta pot can be in a constant state of evaporative cooling which really really seems to be doing well for them!
    Just an idea. They would look lovely all hanging from the ceiling in a line

About the placement of the pelargoniums - and I'm sure you have thought about that but, just in case - are there any holey clay pots left that you could stand them inside, for added stability, and put them outside?
