I hate this game got such low reviews. It's actually okay. Yes, the movement is a bit rigid, but the game is designed to a relaxing multi-hour puzzle solving journey with a nice soundtrack and a small story told through murals and environment. Not an action-packed game or something requiring too much thinking.
The game was only passable for me till chapter 6. Chapter 7 is so frustrating I deleted the game after 2 hours of getting lost in that big ash forest, so I get the bad reviews.
It has its problems beyond rigid movement or lack of action. The ending walk through the woods section overstays its welcome and drags on a bit too long, but it's alright enough for me to get through it. I felt the adhd itch for action but shrugged it off long enough to finish the walk and follow the path, plus the statues that point the direction you're supposed to go. It also has its problems not explaining enough in a couple of sections or only bringing up mechanics every so often and then going awhile without bringing them up again. Luke I COMPLETELY forgot the spirit walk form is weightless and can walk on liquids as well as be light enough to not trigger platforms and the game just kind of, expected me to realize it and then remember it, without using it for what felt like an hour. Luckily I remembered after a but of fumbling and then from then on, remembered it plus it got used a few times after that which got it in my head a bit better as well some of the puzzles felt a bit repetitive, like go do one thing, walk back to recharge, walk back to do another thing, go recharge, do it again, walk back, so on, that bit was annoying and it comes up a few times in pairs of three (probably a nod to mythology stories always doing sets of 3 or 5, food for thought perhaps). But I have to agree that despite the bits of trouble I personally had here and there, the fact some people still complain like they wanted their hand held through the entire thing, or everything explained with express detail, or yellow paint on every edge to tell them exactly where to go at all times. They aren't getting the point of a simplistic "figure your own shit out" kind of puzzle game like this. I've played one before that was exactly the same way, very artsy, no hud, just see shit and figure it out on your own with the context clues given. It wasn't that bad at all and I'm the type of person who HATES puzzles, and I'll say that these were honestly at times far too simple for my taste, some weren't that complicated at all, it was more of a fetch quest at times. But again, not that bad, I enjoyed it, it took 3 hours in one sitting (apparently) and I highly enjoyed it, I got emotional at the end, it was a cute ending. It was no Ori 1 or 2, but it was good. 4/5, 5/5 if it explained a couple of tiny details, and if it had some more complex puzzles to exchange the "do task 3 times" puzzles.
Just seeing the fox sitting at 0:50 reminded me of my passed Thai cat who sat like that, just like any other one, really nothing extraordinary. It just suddenly hit me in the feels... I miss my little guy so much. 😿
My kitty died recently too. Idk why this game is so symbolic of that, where the fox finds its spirit and then heads to the sky, just like our cats. May they RIP

2:09:25 I have tried seriously probably over fifty times and CANNOT seem to land up on that cliff to the shaman. So frustrating. I get so close everytime yet no cigar. Any tips at all. It’s driving me crazy...
I'm stuck on the part at 49.40 on switch, whenever I try to jump up after moving the boulder back i fall every.single.time. doesn't matter when I jump, it never works. Has anyone else had this problem?

It's not your controller, the jumping mechanism isn't exactly perfect in this game I've noticed. I have same issue on PC playing with an Xbox one controller.

Both games are amazing visually, gameplay is ok in the first game and solid in the second, platforming couldn't feel more flowy and perfect if it tried, especially in the second game, the music will hit you in the feels just right, and oh my god did I mention these fucking visuals, holy shit, just about every part of the game could make a painting as a screenshot it's that damn good. Ori is a must play for anyone and everyone, along with Hallow Knight, the two best platforms out there imo. Ori is flowy and smooth while Hallow Knight is rigid and precise, both feeling amazing after a tiny bit of typical game sense learning. By the end of both games, Ori especially, you'll have it down perfectly and it's the best feeling I've had from a game in a while when I first played both.
This is honestly one of the most beautiful games of all time and should be experienced only on PS5. I give it a solid 10/10 for the soundtracks and graphics and that bittersweet ending left me teared up and wanting more. I'd definitely recommend this game as it will take y'all through a wonderful journey filled with peace and serenity.

Can someone please explain the chapter 3 water puzzle to me? Because I lit up all the totems and received the spirit of the bark and it wouldn’t let get rid of all the poison surrounding the last totem. I’m genuinely confused on what I’m doing wrong.

I think I got to 22nd Shaman last night and got insanely tired by the next one it glitched and wouldn't let me howl away the red spot and wouldn't let me save there. so NOW I am back at the beginning of starting that and had one invisible wall glitch before getting to the multiple geysers and now I made it to the hill just for that to have an invisible wall too wtf fix is there for this? This is steam pc version for my playthrough.. I wonder if when my deck comes in Friday if this will still happen. I think this is Ch 6 or 5.
If you like fast games, you'll find it impossibly slow. If you like slow games, it's simply painfully slow. There are so many things annoying aspects of the game, especially the lack of a manual save. I have things to do. I can't just play until the game decides it wants to save.

And the Graphics and the Foxes were just so detailed that you wouldn’t think this’d be over just $12 for the switch. The only thing tho. I do not like where when we finish the game, that’s it. I LOVED how at the end the main fox could run super fast and the aurora that flows out when it wags its tail. My point is, we were given all that just for the credit scene? And, why does the game end there ? I mean you’re basically stuck. Like you can’t go to the first few realms with all the power that we got.
