Base is looking awesome! I agree 100% achievements would be a win, there’s still a ton to do! Doing 100% of the complete game would be a bit tedious. Whatever you choose, I’ll be watching! GG 💜
On the bestiary, it's a very long grind, so that might not be achievable unless you're going for the next year. As other commentors have said, the scanner is greatly reduces the time. I would also add keeping the taxidermy knife so all kills you do with the taxidermy, even if you don't want the resources as that gives more points than the standard knifes. Most of the high kill count, melee, bow, gun, and the fishing quests seem to be the biggest grind in the game as there is no way to speed it up. According to the discord, the fishing perks can help speed up catching a quite a bit, but it's also expensive to respec in to then out of. That said, I'd watch every video! Great series, thanks!
Yes it is definitely going to take a long time. I'm also pretty daunted by the "kill 10,000" enemies with the gun, bow, and melee. I feel like spamming enzyme geysers might be the best way, or doing something like the styx mission with infinite komodo dragons spawning.
Hey @DannyRothko, I've watched every episode of the series and I'm loving it! If I can, I would like to give you some little tips that I found while playing that might help you: - You can quickly evolve your animals by petting them and feeding them any food every time they are at 99% (Ah! You don't need to pet them every time, as long as they have the buff it is enough); - I don't know if it was the latest updates, but the Freezer now also removes the time for food to spoil; - I know you write down the coordinates of your Electric Drills on the notepad, but it would be very interesting if you added the beacons you picked up from the missions in each of them, so we could also see them on the map; - Another way to gain a lot of experience quickly passively, just craft several Packed Fuel Brick if you have resources to spare;
Thank you so much for watching! I do try that animal leveling trick when I get my wolves, it seems to be most effective for the early levels but slows down pretty quickly. By freezer do you mean the fridge? Or the deep freeze? If the fridge also removes spoil time completely that would be great! That's a good idea for the beacons. Especially now on Styx when I have about 10 spare beacons from the first mission haha.
@@dannyrothko I was talking about the Deep freeze, the horizontal one! But for the animals, you can pet it only once at the start of the proccess and the experience buff will remain for 15 minutes, so all you need to do is feed it while the buff is active, instead of Feed + Pet + Feed + Pet... 😀
@@lucasrotulo4403 Oh I see, yes I have a bunch of deep freezes on my Prometheus map, but in styx I love the MXC preservation because it costs 0 electricity!
Hey there Danny, excellent episode...as usual. I'd love to see Icarus develop some vehicles... And then that way you could incorporate garages and specialty spots within your base for oars or different mining processing facilities..... Because the very bottom of the slanted greenhouse would be an excellent garage ! What are your thoughts on that ? Keep up the amazing work Bro, you're KILLING IT 🤘🤘 Take care, ~Jonny5🥁
Thanks for watching as always! Vehicles would be awesome but I don't know if they are planning on adding that unfortunately. I do like the idea of a garage down there, so that may become where our animlas live!
Great video! The base is looking amazing Taking the mortar to hunt mammoths is so simple and effective! I'm ashamed I didn't think of it on my own 😅 I might try to use a material processor and a small battery since my Olympus base is pretty much at "infinite resources" stage (really I should go to styx and start playing on hard like a big girl, but I'm a coward)
Thank you! I actually thought of an even better method that I started using. If you can craft the dropship recall grenades, you can load up your entire drop pod cargo with 15 tusks. 1500 epoxy!
you can use the B.E.A.S.T scanner in the workshop, it will reduce the kills needed towards your 100% completion. even if you don't kill every animal you scanned you will get 6 points/scan
Oh man, another great tip! I didn't know that! I've always stabbed the fish manually, the only time I've bothered with fish chunks was for this mission haha.
A pyramid could be awesome! I need to have an even number of blocks in each direction so the full 7x7 couldn't work, but maybe I shrink it to be 6x6 at the peak. I'm going to have to do some thinking about what to do at the very top.
I've definitely thought about streaming things like material gathering etc. as well as maybe playing some other games. I'll have to fix up my setup for that.
Is there a reason why you use silica for glas instead of sand? Isn't sand in the desert much "cheaper"? ;-) - ah okay, I should wait until the end of the episode before posing a question 😀
Sand is good for small amounts of glass, but to make mass quantities of hundreds if not thousand it would take a huge amount of time to gather up enough sand. Every single glass takes 10, and each shovelful even with the titanium shovel is about 5-6 sand
Hi DannyRothko, I'm a little confused, I'm on episode 2 of this playlist and your intention then was to play styx before prometheus, the chronological order, did something happen to change that ?
I decided to go to Styx mainly because right around the time I started the new season, they made a big update that brought all missions into open world on styx. I also love the Oasis zone in Styx so I wanted to go there to build a new base
The randomly disappearing bits of base are very annoying. It seems to happen with crop plots too from time to time and is a little more common in the last patch. This could just be coincidence though.
Anyone else get stuttering while playing on open world once you have a few wind turbines and electric items, decent size house etc? It's ruining the game for me. Doesn't matter if I turn the graphics down to potato, does the same. I run it on Ultra before anything is built and it's perfectly smooth gameplay.
i must say you are going to be huge, i love the voice and quality of the edit and your game knowledge and commentary
Thank you so much! There is much more content to come
that Sand Worm boss be like "Gotta give em that hawk tuah, and spit on that thang" lmao
Absolutely beautiful!! No other words.
Thank you so much! Definitely pleased with how the base is coming along.
This is such a great playthrough series. Really enjoying it.
Thank you for watching!
Excuse me, I gotta go rebuild my base -.- LOL Dude nice Play through.
Hahah, thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely getting that 100% achievement goal

really epic looking base, very nice
Thank you as always for watching! Definitely happy with the progress so far.
@@dannyrothko hells ya
Glad you ended up finding the wiki spawn maps. Helpful for prior Prometheus lava extermination mission. My name is Dan as well..
The spawn map has been very helpful! And oh nice, it's a great name haha.

100% was thinking more of all missions on all maps, bestiary is a grind and doesn't make for great video.
Animal/fish trophies and fish tanks are sufficient visual representation

Sprinkler has Aoe like beehive above and below for centralized location within grow.
The bottom area would be really cool for your animals
Yes the more I think about it, it would be an awesome place!
You should name the desert Moa Shai-Hulud from Dune 😂
Haha, the brutal concrete giant structure does give off Harkonnen vibes!
Great video! The base is looking amazing

I have it in my hotbar all the time but always forget to use it 😆
The perks you get for 100% are great. I'm excited to see you complete them
i dont know if you knew, but you can also right click on the fish you caught from the traps and click get chunks
Oh man, another great tip! I didn't know that! I've always stabbed the fish manually, the only time I've bothered with fish chunks was for this mission haha.
An open pyramid roof would look cool and have interior wood railings around. Have you considered having others join you in play?

A heat wave in the desert? 😂
It gets hot out there!
42:09, hey danny, why not live stream it, I would definitely watch it.

You can actually process bone powder into epoxy in the same mortar and pestle, or bring 2nd
Yes! I thought about that but felt it would take too long haha. If you are more patient than I am then that would be even more efficient.
you can punch fish to collect them instead of the knife, they only have 1 health
Hahha that is good to know
I found a leveling up glitch its op ngl

MCX preservation crate? Where did you get ahold of this?
This is a mission item only on styx from "Oasis Angler." Check out episode 2 in this series "Pandora's Box" and I go through the process.
The randomly disappearing bits of base are very annoying. It seems to happen with crop plots too from time to time and is a little more common in the last patch. This could just be coincidence though.
It's something that just happens on large bases/saves. Devs haven't pinned down a cause so it's just something we'll have to live with atm.
It's the first time I have encountered it, hopefully we don't get any more disappearing acts!
Are you using reinforced glass I don't see the metal mesh in the glass
I built this base before the glass change, so it is still using the old "tempered" glass.
It does seem like the more you build, the game suffers from some performance issues. The devs are aware of it and are working on optimizations.
yaa 1st comment, get some
Nice one!
