Vehicles coming in and out of Bangalore City is very much higher than Vehicles passing through Bangalore.
It is a 70 / 30 combination.
70 percent population including floating crowd and people who are working in Bangalore especially outsiders / expats are too high.
Only 30 percent vehicles bypass Bangalore.
It s good that PRR and STRR is much needed for our kind of expansion.
With Chennai Surat Expressway taking shape.
Most of Tamilnadu Lorries from Chennai Side and AP lorries going towards Mumbai and Gujarat will not even touch Bangalore District.
May be 10 to 20 percent traffic on Tumkur Road will reduce.

This is good.. another easy way of reducing traffic in Bangalore is adding more bmtc buses.. and tat too small busus about 20 to 25 seats.. nobody likes to stand in buses with bodies literally touching other...

Everyone is concentrating more on the advantages of the STRR. Yeah, I too agree that the traffic will be reduced to the maximum extent, but no one is bothered about the fact that it has to pass through BNP, in the "Eco Sensitive Zone", and it is an "Elephant Corridor" as well. Extending the road and the movement of vehicles in the BNP will intensively affect animals' movements. We humans think that only humans are living on this earth, which is not true. Every being on this earth has the right to live. Traffic is what we people create. Using public transport instead of individual vehicles can help reduce traffic as well as air pollution. We have to think about other aspects too; constructing roads is not the only solution.

@@akraj079 They are planning to make it as an elevated high way. But the height is around 15ft. An average Indian elephant's height is around 10.5ft. And they are planning to install side walls with some metal to reduce the sound. All the residual dust will gather on that and when it rains it will come down and destroy the bio diversity below it.
