I feel like people who are recommending this phone are just trolling. I mean, i know there are people who just doesn't need much from a smartphone but the A02 shouldn't be good enough even for them. If you don't have much money don't go for Samsung, there are better options in this price range.

This is because technological things in the country are one the most expensive on the planet and many Brazilians are unable to buy more expensive items, so they prefer the basic ones. It is the sad reality in the country. To buy an IPhone in the country for example you have to work almost 1 year to be able to buy. This is just an example.

I totally regret buying this phone, and should have spent $50-100 more for a better option. This phone is so unbearably slow that I've almost destroyed it in a fit of rage multiple times while waiting... ALMOST 2 MINUTES for a Google search to load on an excellent Internet connection. Don't even get me started on TH-cam load times...

I think Samsung are using the fact that well everybody wants Samsung phones and builds horrible Samsung a series smartphones and they know everyone's gonna buy them so they can do whatever they want I am not saying Samsung devices are bad like I use a Samsung Galaxy tab S6 and it's wonderful What they really do need to improve on is their a series.
I bought this phone and i regret it. It started to lag a month after buying it. The camera is crap. Using the flash and the photos are pitch black. TH-cam crashes so often. Whatsapp camera is zoomed in and i cant do anything about it. I paid almost $600 for this thinking it was good and it wasnt. I bought it only in September 2021 and i wish i could return it and get my money back
The phone itself is great for the price, but some companies add their own blocks on these phones and reduce calling features to H+ or 3G even though this phone is capable of VOLTE calling

Got this phone yesterday at Walmart for $79. I don't use any apps or the internet. It is a phone to talk, text and take pictures. It's a great phone for what I use it for.
I AGREE!!! So incredibly frustrated with this Samsung A02 phone. Everything is a fight from downloading an App to installing the SIM card. DO NOT PURCHASE.
I used the ace 1 and ace 3 and the lag and overheating made the experience so memorable. Add on the lack of storage. I upgraded to the galaxy a8 and the 2gb ram/32gb storage was a massive improvement
I think that Samsung instead of making A02 core and getting confused with A2 core which was released in 2019 ,they went with a A02s which is the like a normal version and made A02 as a bad version which is closer to what A core version is
I have that phone, using it right now. I personally really like it and i found it easier than apple and i can make the theme really cute which on apple you have to do a bunch of things just to make it to your liking. Its smooth, easy, and aesthetically pleasing.
I have this phone. It cost me 60 dollars and is great. Awesome 3 cameras with HDRI low lighting. It is a phone, not a laptop or a game system. Plays HD movies from my quarter Terabyte SD card. Fast internet. Switching from my old phone was a breeze with the app, got everything transfered. Cricket is my carrier. There is nothing wrong with it. I use it as a Google GPS too. He must have crappy service or something. He uses his phone as a TV.

If you play games, don't buy this i am a gamer myself and this phone has no GPU, meaning any game like big games like roblox for example you can't play because of its lag, this phone is also very slow and u click on something and if happens like 5 mins later i don't recommend this phone AT ALL.
The reason as to why gaming is better than doing almost everything else is because the GPU is more powerful than the CPU in this phone lol. So anything that relies on the CPU like web browsing will struggle vs games which rely more on the GPU will run better.

A friend who is a Samsung Fan, Almost bought this PoS as a Birthday present for his Mother, after getting a "Special Offer" from Samsung on his Galaxy Note 20, so he called me up to see what I thought (as he does when considering any tech purchases). I rapidly came to the same conclusion as you, and started looking at alternatives. His mother doesn't consume Media on a phone, and her eyesight is good (she doesn't need the superior contrast of Amoled like I do), so an lcd display is OK. Ended up finding an A21s 64ggb with 6gb ram for very close to the price of the "Speciall Offer" A02, in fact it was 8 pounds more including free postage, from UK stocks, with delivery within 3 days. I am so disgusted with Samsung for releasing such a phone in 2021, I Vented my feelings to Samsung UK and pointed them to your well summed up review. Keep up the great work. Bob. 👍🏴
I wondered. Because just watched a video where this same guy recommends the A02s as comparable to the A12. He said both are good. So there must be a significant difference between the A02 and A02s? I just don't see how he could strongly recommend the A02s but here he says the A02 is basically trash.

The only reason I see this phone being used is buying it in bulk and giving it out for community service, but even then, the A02s is almost the same price.
You are so right when it comes to this phone. I have to use my phone for work taking pictures making notes going through service apps this phone to form at the lowest possible quality there is there is a ten-second delay in between switching apps the timestamp camera will freeze up and I will have to reset the phone to get it to work downloading apps takes forever and then after downloading and installing they don't work properly this phone is a huge reason to avoid Samsung altogether because you can tell they're getting cheaper and selling for more avoid this phone at all cost
You need to put a comment filter where comments with links are quarantined. The spam bots are much more active on your videos recently. I just report every single one I see, but I can't do that for all of them, so some things have to be done from your side.
I had this phone and randomly this morning it decided to perform a factory reset automatically. Lost all my data, notes, and contacts. Everything just completely crashed on me. And there's nothing that can be done apparently. I've had this phone for a while and have hated it since day one even despite the random crashes on apps and random restarting. But a complete reset? That is ridiculous. Please and I can not stress this enough PLEASE DO NOT buy this phone.
Literally woke up with the phone shut off (which it does Pretty often when i go to sleep) and this time when I turned it back on I had to completely set my phone up all over again. Even now that I'm back into my phone I can not answer calls, it simply won't let me press the answer button, and I can't open most apps including Facebook, snap chat, Doordarshan, AND MORE. So if you want a phone that you can use like a phone this isn't the one. Not to mention how weak it is. I never drop my phone but one day I was walking and slipped and fell (yes people laughed) But I fell on my back and held my hand up in the air so my phone wouldn't touch the ground and I didn't that successfully. Sadly vibration of my fall through my hand was too much and sent a small Crack all the way across the screen that over time had turned into multiple pieces of glass falling off of my phone.
Totally agree...this phone is very sluggish. Many times I press a button thinking it didn't work only to find out it's 3 secs behind which leads to some fairly frustrating keystroke sequences. ATT sent me this phone because they are going to 5G and say my previous LG phone won't be supported.

The only thing that worries me more is E-Waste. Samsung could excuse this phone for " we made a horrible phone so that people will pay a bit more and buy our second cheapest lineup and think ""bang for buck"" " . but this is worse than A10 for chipset. A05 does it well . Cheap enough but not a E-waste. This makes them shitty for reducing phone components like charger for " enviroment friendly " when literally making a phone so bad , they can sell this for about as 70$ from their own Shop ! and drop to 40 $ in discount then I'll say it's okay.. a bit.

Worst phone I've ever had. Samsung tech support is horrible. I was sent to a repair store and their diagnostic was the pre-installed Google play store app. Samsung wanted me to mail in my phone for repair - 6 to 8 weeks repair time

I've had this phone for 18 months. It was always slow and clunky. Once I put a few apps on the phone it's memory was full. After a few months voicemail stopped working. I tried all sorts of troubleshooting solutions including full factory reset. After I had had the phone 6 months it started ghost touching so was extremely hard to use for anything. I have resorted to using my old iPhone for everything except texting and calling, and would use my old phone for those if I had the time to transfer the contract. I would have also bought a new phone 1 year ago if I wanted to spend the money. I have had around 10 phones in my life, all low budget. None have been like this one.

This is my personal opinion on this phone. I got into a crash and it broke my phone so i buy a new one but im broke so i try buying this budget phone. At first i gotta say it runs pretty bad. It was slow and sluggish but i have it for more than 2 weeks now and i gotta say after 2 updates it runs much better and smoother than before.. and im impressed by the battery capacity of this phone . I can watch youtube all days and the batt won't die that quickly.. overall for the price and the quality according to the price its a great phone to have .. the camera is pretty bad but other runs pretty good.. for its price i gotta say its a great purchased .
In my own opinion....The A02 samsung phone could be perfect for a starter phone....It has some features which most phones don't have like focus mode which helps you concentrate on your work....It has a good battery life so and a good storage doe I don't recommend downloading COD mobile with this phone if you have alot of valuable files because COD mobile has about 15+ Gigabytes that could eat all of your space and has a decent ram....All in all the phone is decent its not that bad...And it works like every decent phone..Would you really buy a fake phone than have a real one like A02 that has everything compared to a fake phone that has a low ram and sucks at installing apps
This phone is the worst I have ever had. It is pure garbage. When I try to call someone it might take up to ten seconds for the phone to start ringing. Video chatting is a challenge especially through social media apps just to name a few of its many issues. Spend your money elsewhere please.
I still using my note 3 (backup device), 8 years old flagship device sd800 chipset, of course it's lagging coz it's android lollipop but scrolling some of the lite task is still smooth surprisingly, even watching yt on 1080p@60fps still great.
I've been using the Samsung A02 for the past 1 month and for the price, it's a stand out phone, My previous phone was a S6 and I'm one of those who changes the phone only when its broken and I decided to get a budget phone just to see how well it is, compared to a flagship. It's not lighting fast, boot up takes a minute BUT once its booted up its pretty fast, If you're only using it for making calls, whatsapp messages, surfing the internet and watching you tube....get it, It's great deal for the price, I bought it for USD100. Not sure why this guy is saying otherwise.....
Yeah exactly stupid review to be honest, it's a budget phone and for that reason it's not going to be super snappy, but it will still sell a whole load I am going to get one as I am not a heavy user so works for me perfectly.

This phone sucks for many reasons. It's slow. Has a problem connecting to different wifi's. Split screen feature unlike it's predecesor goes away when trying to switch tabs. TH-cam reloads most of the time you go to a different tab really quick & more.. Can't wait to change phones.
I wish I had done more research... I just broke my phone, and I needed a new one, I was sick of paying a bunch for something that just breaks after 6 months, so I got this... Big mistake.

I have the A01 and I use it for watching TH-cam and browsing web, I use my S8 for video recording. I like the A01, I don't expect it to be top notch as long as it does the basics, I'm good!
I use 03s version when i came across this issue (lag, not respond), i will close all the app that. like literally ' close all ' apps. for some reason, the apps that are running at background is the one to blame. # tips from me: make sure apps at background less then 3 or 5 for 03s .
I bought it months ago, it was really frustrating to use because of the slow processor, everything, even answer a calls was a hard thing to do, fortunately I got robbed and it was the best excuse to have a better phone for almost the same price (I bought an iPhone 7)
Wow. I got the LG Phoenix 5 around the 1st of December for free with one month of prepaid service. I think this A02 probably compares in terms of load time and inability to run two apps at once. It couldn't stream music and run Maps at the same time.

Since i updated it keeps freezing. Gaming: it keeps lagging or freezes. Very 😤 The fone doesnt fully charge even over night. When i used another fast charge cable it went to 100% for the first time
This phone is just like the phone i had before. The Galaxy J3 Prime was also this slow, and it took like 2minutes to open google maps. Fortunately, I upgraded this year.
i used this phone for about 2 years and tbh the performance is so bad it actually deter me from using it for more than 30 seconds and this helped me focus on any task i had by not being distracted 🤣
I don't need a super fancy phone i just want something with a good camera and has a nice amount of data space, but I hate this phone. I like to upload videos of myself covering songs on my Facebook and it takes forever and a day to upload a video. Or my phone will freeze and i get the System UI is not responding error. I was told this phone had decent data space and I've only had ot since late August 2021 and I'm already having storage issues. I actually have the Galaxy A02s but its still horrible.

If you play games, don't buy this i am a gamer myself and this phone has no GPU, meaning any game like big games like roblox for example you can't play because of its lag, this phone is also very slow and u click on something and if happens like 5 mins later i don't recommend this phone AT ALL.
The reason as to why gaming is better than doing almost everything else is because the GPU is more powerful than the CPU in this phone lol. So anything that relies on the CPU like web browsing will struggle vs games which rely more on the GPU will run better.

A friend who is a Samsung Fan, Almost bought this PoS as a Birthday present for his Mother, after getting a "Special Offer" from Samsung on his Galaxy Note 20, so he called me up to see what I thought (as he does when considering any tech purchases). I rapidly came to the same conclusion as you, and started looking at alternatives. His mother doesn't consume Media on a phone, and her eyesight is good (she doesn't need the superior contrast of Amoled like I do), so an lcd display is OK. Ended up finding an A21s 64ggb with 6gb ram for very close to the price of the "Speciall Offer" A02, in fact it was 8 pounds more including free postage, from UK stocks, with delivery within 3 days. I am so disgusted with Samsung for releasing such a phone in 2021, I Vented my feelings to Samsung UK and pointed them to your well summed up review. Keep up the great work. Bob. 👍🏴
It uses Mediatek MT6739W SoC, that's 28nm and was utter budged garbage back in 2017. I have no idea what samsung was thinking with this 2021 phone.
I think this is why they made the a02s version before the regular model, we should have known.
I wondered. Because just watched a video where this same guy recommends the A02s as comparable to the A12. He said both are good. So there must be a significant difference between the A02 and A02s? I just don't see how he could strongly recommend the A02s but here he says the A02 is basically trash.
@@pluckyduck11y the huge difference between the A02 and the A02s is that the A02 comes with 4 cores while the A02s comes with 8 cores. and he's saying that 4 cpu cores are not enough nowadays.
The only reason I see this phone being used is buying it in bulk and giving it out for community service, but even then, the A02s is almost the same price.
Forgot to say after suffering with mine I smashed it with a double edged medieval axe, and shirasaya till the screen layers were exposed and torn out

You are so right when it comes to this phone. I have to use my phone for work taking pictures making notes going through service apps this phone to form at the lowest possible quality there is there is a ten-second delay in between switching apps the timestamp camera will freeze up and I will have to reset the phone to get it to work downloading apps takes forever and then after downloading and installing they don't work properly this phone is a huge reason to avoid Samsung altogether because you can tell they're getting cheaper and selling for more avoid this phone at all cost
You need to put a comment filter where comments with links are quarantined. The spam bots are much more active on your videos recently. I just report every single one I see, but I can't do that for all of them, so some things have to be done from your side.
I had this phone and randomly this morning it decided to perform a factory reset automatically. Lost all my data, notes, and contacts. Everything just completely crashed on me. And there's nothing that can be done apparently. I've had this phone for a while and have hated it since day one even despite the random crashes on apps and random restarting. But a complete reset? That is ridiculous. Please and I can not stress this enough PLEASE DO NOT buy this phone.
Literally woke up with the phone shut off (which it does Pretty often when i go to sleep) and this time when I turned it back on I had to completely set my phone up all over again. Even now that I'm back into my phone I can not answer calls, it simply won't let me press the answer button, and I can't open most apps including Facebook, snap chat, Doordarshan, AND MORE. So if you want a phone that you can use like a phone this isn't the one. Not to mention how weak it is. I never drop my phone but one day I was walking and slipped and fell (yes people laughed) But I fell on my back and held my hand up in the air so my phone wouldn't touch the ground and I didn't that successfully. Sadly vibration of my fall through my hand was too much and sent a small Crack all the way across the screen that over time had turned into multiple pieces of glass falling off of my phone.
For me it works fine, definetly better than my old phone. Its good if you only use it for calling people

Totally agree...this phone is very sluggish. Many times I press a button thinking it didn't work only to find out it's 3 secs behind which leads to some fairly frustrating keystroke sequences. ATT sent me this phone because they are going to 5G and say my previous LG phone won't be supported.

The only thing that worries me more is E-Waste. Samsung could excuse this phone for " we made a horrible phone so that people will pay a bit more and buy our second cheapest lineup and think ""bang for buck"" " . but this is worse than A10 for chipset. A05 does it well . Cheap enough but not a E-waste. This makes them shitty for reducing phone components like charger for " enviroment friendly " when literally making a phone so bad , they can sell this for about as 70$ from their own Shop ! and drop to 40 $ in discount then I'll say it's okay.. a bit.

Worst phone I've ever had. Samsung tech support is horrible. I was sent to a repair store and their diagnostic was the pre-installed Google play store app. Samsung wanted me to mail in my phone for repair - 6 to 8 weeks repair time

I've had this phone for 18 months. It was always slow and clunky. Once I put a few apps on the phone it's memory was full. After a few months voicemail stopped working. I tried all sorts of troubleshooting solutions including full factory reset. After I had had the phone 6 months it started ghost touching so was extremely hard to use for anything. I have resorted to using my old iPhone for everything except texting and calling, and would use my old phone for those if I had the time to transfer the contract. I would have also bought a new phone 1 year ago if I wanted to spend the money. I have had around 10 phones in my life, all low budget. None have been like this one.

Old retired guy here....I have to ditch an old flip phone. Don't wanna spend significant time learning a new detailed system.
No need for gaming, social media, or even internet searching. Just talking, an adjustable size touchscreen for texting, and good voice volume.....that's all I need! But simple would seal the deal!

This is my personal opinion on this phone. I got into a crash and it broke my phone so i buy a new one but im broke so i try buying this budget phone. At first i gotta say it runs pretty bad. It was slow and sluggish but i have it for more than 2 weeks now and i gotta say after 2 updates it runs much better and smoother than before.. and im impressed by the battery capacity of this phone . I can watch youtube all days and the batt won't die that quickly.. overall for the price and the quality according to the price its a great phone to have .. the camera is pretty bad but other runs pretty good.. for its price i gotta say its a great purchased .

In my own opinion....The A02 samsung phone could be perfect for a starter phone....It has some features which most phones don't have like focus mode which helps you concentrate on your work....It has a good battery life so and a good storage doe I don't recommend downloading COD mobile with this phone if you have alot of valuable files because COD mobile has about 15+ Gigabytes that could eat all of your space and has a decent ram....All in all the phone is decent its not that bad...And it works like every decent phone..Would you really buy a fake phone than have a real one like A02 that has everything compared to a fake phone that has a low ram and sucks at installing apps

This phone is the worst I have ever had. It is pure garbage. When I try to call someone it might take up to ten seconds for the phone to start ringing. Video chatting is a challenge especially through social media apps just to name a few of its many issues. Spend your money elsewhere please.
I still using my note 3 (backup device), 8 years old flagship device sd800 chipset, of course it's lagging coz it's android lollipop but scrolling some of the lite task is still smooth surprisingly, even watching yt on 1080p@60fps still great.
I've been using the Samsung A02 for the past 1 month and for the price, it's a stand out phone, My previous phone was a S6 and I'm one of those who changes the phone only when its broken and I decided to get a budget phone just to see how well it is, compared to a flagship. It's not lighting fast, boot up takes a minute BUT once its booted up its pretty fast, If you're only using it for making calls, whatsapp messages, surfing the internet and watching you tube....get it, It's great deal for the price, I bought it for USD100.

Yeah exactly stupid review to be honest, it's a budget phone and for that reason it's not going to be super snappy, but it will still sell a whole load I am going to get one as I am not a heavy user so works for me perfectly.
Sorry to break this but my Xiaomi Redmi 4a does better job than A02. And mine is from 2016 and is cheaper, bruh

This phone sucks for many reasons. It's slow. Has a problem connecting to different wifi's. Split screen feature unlike it's predecesor goes away when trying to switch tabs. TH-cam reloads most of the time you go to a different tab really quick & more.. Can't wait to change phones.

for some reason, the apps that are running at background is the one to blame.
# tips from me: make sure apps at background less then 3 or 5 for 03s .
I bought it months ago, it was really frustrating to use because of the slow processor, everything, even answer a calls was a hard thing to do, fortunately I got robbed and it was the best excuse to have a better phone for almost the same price (I bought an iPhone 7)

Wow. I got the LG Phoenix 5 around the 1st of December for free with one month of prepaid service. I think this A02 probably compares in terms of load time and inability to run two apps at once. It couldn't stream music and run Maps at the same time.

Since i updated it keeps freezing. Gaming: it keeps lagging or freezes. Very 😤 The fone doesnt fully charge even over night. When i used another fast charge cable it went to 100% for the first time
This phone is just like the phone i had before. The Galaxy J3 Prime was also this slow, and it took like 2minutes to open google maps. Fortunately, I upgraded this year.

I don't need a super fancy phone i just want something with a good camera and has a nice amount of data space, but I hate this phone. I like to upload videos of myself covering songs on my Facebook and it takes forever and a day to upload a video. Or my phone will freeze and i get the System UI is not responding error. I was told this phone had decent data space and I've only had ot since late August 2021 and I'm already having storage issues. I actually have the Galaxy A02s but its still horrible.
