Star Control was a great space strategy and combat game. Castlevania Bloodlines was one of my favorites in the series and Ms Pac-Man had tons of crazy mazes.

Sega Genesis is still my favorite game console ever made. I've been buying games like Rolling Thunder 2 and 3, Crue Ball (Motley Crue soundtrack) and a few others I've always wanted before they become unaffordable like most retro stuff

The music may be inferior in part 3 but it's amazing maybe even better than part 2 but the entire SOR Trilogy was perfect. I'm not trying to get every Genesis game but there's at least 3 or 4 titles I want before I buy other console game for my coleco and NES
My favourite game ever: Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Ever since it come out, I had S&K and I would borrow copies of 3 from friends until I would get it myself. Loved that game. Dunno, it’s gotta be the branching paths. Like Knuckles can’t jump as high as the others so he can’t go where Sonic and Tails can. Also on that note Tails and Sonic can’t smash through rocks the Knuckles can do it really adds to it

Wow, I was SO happy to see Haunting Starring Polterguy featured, which is probably my absolute favorite Genesis game, but also Growl, the Road Rash trilogy, Punisher, the Streets of Rage trilogy, TMNT Hyper Stone Heist, & that very special shout-out you gave to Pit Fighter, 'cuz I actually really like that game a lot & think it's super underrated. 👏🏼 😁👍🏻
Played a ton of these a lot growing up; got the chance to play Golden Axe with Ty at a convention not too long ago, that was an awesome experience introducing him to that for the first time.
So picture this. 1992 im in Spain getting outta the navy. I was helod off and just hanging out. My sega was on the ship still. So it pulls into spain and my shipmate packs my sega into a backpack and hurls it off the ship into my arms. Perfect toss perfect catch.

The remake of Shadow Dancer deserves a mention too. Still love my Mega Drive (hi from Europe), I got it only in recent times because when I was a kid the console had an outrageous price, so I was forced to keep my Atari 2600! Yes, I have and Everdrive but I still love to buy original games for it when I find those rare times when you can afford something without asking permission to your bank! Just today I was going to buy Gauntlet IV from an online store and...damn, someone already bought it!
In Midnight Resistance (11:53), you can duck and shoot forward (or whatever direction) by pressing B then duck. Some parts of the game can be uber hard if you don't use the B button. The control is so strange because the arcade original had a special rotating stick and they tried to imitate that with a controller. It would be great if someone remake the game as a twin stick shooter, which completely solves the weird control problem.
I tried some of the other control methods and one ducked and fired forward. But it still had you press a button to shoot in different directions. Too weird.

Most of the time, I get trolls telling me to STFU and never looking me up, then when they do they're still made and still tell me STFU. LOL. Anyway... my site needs to be updated with a lot of games, especially ones I only "worked on" vs. "lead". In this case, I worked on Haunting for a few months, while also creating other things, like Jungle Strike.

The sounds and tunes coming out of that classic Yamaha YM2612 chip are very nostalgic for me. This era of gaming was my teenage years and I loved all the very distinct sounds that were classic Genesis.

Even though I'm a fan of the franchise, I thank you for not putting Sonic on your list. It shows that there's more to the Genesis\Mega Drive than Sonic The Hedgehog.
Another banger, sir! I have a hard time getting into Alisia Dragoon. The attack seems haphazard and I feel like I can't hit what I'm trying to hit sometimes regardless of my input and I take damage that I feel isn't my fault. I want to like that game but it makes me SO MAD.
I feel like that about quite a lot of games people keep telling me are great fun to play. I'm not sure they aren't more concerned with some irrelevant technical feat half the time than the actual underlying game and how much fun it genuinely is to play. And I'm not a fan of stuff that's random, especially in relation to controls. Thankfully, I'd say that vast majority of games in this video are good to very good, and a few are even great.

9:00 - it's nice to see some real transparency effects (at the main character) on the good old Megadrive! It's the hilight mode and sadly not very often seen, they rather used dithering for shadows and weather effects in most other games where "transparency" occurs.
Virtua Racing STILL looks really impressive on the Genesis, even if it didn't quite match the awesomeness of the 32X version. To be able to play that game at home at all back in 1994 was freaking amazing, especially on a base Genesis. As an SNES owner, i was super jealous! Especially since Virtua Racing was one of my favorite arcade games from that era. That said, it was a huge surprise when VF2 came to the Genesis and it was a 2D game! I couldn't understand why Sega would have bothered if they weren't going to give it the Virtua Racing treatment.
Why Golden Axe 3 wasn't released in North America near the Genesis peak in 1993 is beyond me. The A-I is much smarter than the first 2 games, new characters, and path choices. GA 3 has become one of my favorite games. I don't know why it always seems to get negative reviews

I am literally playing Phantasy Star 3 on my rel Genesis right now as I clicke donthe video onmy second screen. Having a vbblast huge Nostalgia, this was the first ful priced game I saved up and bought day 1 at launch. I t was $112 ccnaada dfollars at launch including tax. My job was $5 per hour. 22 hours labor to get it. Worth it!

Unpopular opinion but street of rage 3 is better than streets of rage 2. Besides music sor 3 has more characters, specials that don’t annoyingly drain your health, more endings, memorable boss battles etc
So, the $300 Sega CD add-on device that even required its own power supply is "the Genesis"? Is the Super Game Boy "the SNES" then? What about the Master System adapter being "the Genesis" or the Satellaview being "the SNES"? Haven't watched the whole video yet, but are there going to be 32X "Genesis" games on there too? 😲😲😲
Genesis will always be far superior to SNES to me. Its not even close. Just so many more great games for it, and the Genesis Sonic games are THE GOAT of that era, while the 16 bit Mario games were kind of dogshit compared to them, and even worse than the 8 bit Mario games, and of course SM64 later. But this list is really mid. Not much I'd ever bother playing here. Besides the obvious titles like Sonic, or the EA Sports games and whatnot, and where's Vectorman, Comix Zone, the X-Men games, Aladdin, Mutant League Football, Mutant League Hockey, Super Baseball 2020, WWF Raw, Duke Nukem 3D, etc

I get bored easily, RPGs take a lot of commitment! I did beat Landstalker back in the day though.

With the Punisher for MD/GEN you have press jump once then press the attack plus jump again I’m pretty sure

It is kinda all over the place. I think it gets back to keeping your charge up so you can wipe out the whole screen regularly.

My first exposure to Road Rash was on my 3D0, it was addictively awesome.
One of the greatest console's and game's of all time.. a True classic' 🏆✨
General Chaos is far and away the most addicting, but same for Mutant League Football, Mutant League Hockey, and Super Baseball 2020!

Golden Axe 3 was only a Sega Channel game here in the US, it was available physically as well outside of the US, at least Japan.
