I’m 67, retired, and decided to learn music theory as a hobby. I’ve spent months hunting and pecking for lines and spaces on the staff. Your instructions on looking at the pattern of stepping up and stepping down has been a game changer for me. Just at a quick glance I now know which direction to go. Once I get the hang of reading the alphabet backwards quickly while stepping down I should be good. Thank You

I'm honestly taken aback. I grew apart and hated piano as a child cuz of how all structured and repetitive it used to be plus I didnt have a connection with it before. Now, somehow i'm more attentive because of how you particularly teach it, it's almost like you don't pressure your students and I appreciate it so much, i'm a 32 year old man and I've always appreciated piano pieces more when i hit my teens. The 3rd day of the lesson in this video made me realize, I actually can appreciate and love music. I hated synesthesia tutorials on yt or incomplete song breakdowns, even moreso with other instruments but your content seems to embrace individuality in people and that really shines through to the way you address your viewers. Please keep doing more, you have my support

I have always looked at a sheet music and felt dizzy..it seemed like there is so much going on. So I focused on just playing chords but I lacked the dexterity that comes from reading and playing sheet music. I have only done to day 3 and I can begin to see how easy it can get with practice. I can begin to see the patterns and my left hand is learning how to move with ease... You are a great teacher Lisa. .❤

I am a NEWBIE. We own a piano ever since I was born and when we moved to our own house, the 1st thing my husband bought was a piano for my kids.
My 2 kids learned piano but did not push through with their lessons. But they can read chords and somehow play the piano. I am totally a newbie. I don't understand how fingers should work while reading the notes or tempo or chords. My son the other day thought me the basic chords. And I discovered this channel, now little by little I understand it somehow. Looking forward to learn and be able to understand and play our piano. I believe it is never to late to learn even I just retired from flying. I love the way you teach. Will be following your every uploads. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Well i did the whole thing on guitar. I'm a rather advanced player, but i always wanted to learn to read actual notes, and not just tabs, so this video was very helpful! Plus it was fun to try to figure out how to play the rhythm and lead parts at the same time, i felt like a classical guitarist haha. Thank you for the great explanations, the intervals and landmark notes parts especially, because this is something that helped me a lot with memorizing the notes on the fretboard when i was starting out!

My Yamaha P45 arrived today , but the 4 high white keys don’t work so it goes back to Amazon for another one .
But I’m still learning. Got a burning desire. With an instructor that makes sense ❤

On day 5. I am experimenting with closing my eyes and saying the notes out loud as my fingers push the notes down. For some reason it is easier to memorize the keys for me like this. So far this has been a great experience 😊”two” more days to go!
