Hi folks,
Here's a clean looking Sanyo cassette player - with an issue!

The batteries you used are at least 17 years old and they still hold a charge.

Quite remarkable, isn't it! I keep tubs of salvaged batteries from gear that I get in. So many of them still hold a good charge. I run the meter over them, and if they're good, they'e perfect to re-use for demonstration purposes. Thanks for watching 👍

The volume pot might be carbon based and contact cleaner might damage the carbon in the pot ,

This one was carbon, I think, and vulnerable to contact cleaner- but the pot was so stubborn (I wondered if I might even have to replace it at first) that a tiny squirt of cleaner and some lube managed to make it useable again.
