- My wild camp at an abandoned village 1100ft above sea level. Barehead quarry in Queensbury.
In this video me and my French Bulldog go on an adventure to find a Calendar House (Scout Hall) plus a forgotten village where we wild camp high up in the hills (1100ft above sea level).
What a beautiful view from this lost village.

Gaz,
Love your videos. Sixth generation, American. My gr., Gr. Grandfather left England 1835. They were bridge builders, quarry workings from swanage , Worth Matravers. And relations over from Corfe.
I live in Alaska of all places. The history and countryside is awesome in your videos.😊
Thanks Michelle! I've seen programs about Alaska and it looks a magical (but brutal) place to live 🤩
@@GrizzlyGaz I grew up in Dorset. Know well Worth Matravers, especially the Square and Compass yuck yuck. Corfe is amazing, and I could see the castle from my bedroom when I lived in Poole (on a fine day). I've also been to Alaska, not nearly enough time, but enough to fall in love (at least in the summer with semi decent weather).
Just lovely scenery and historic building plus I love your little dog absolutely adorable 🥰
Thank you
I live in Arizona where we don’t have much of an issue with moisture - but when I hike and camp the mountains, I bring a small, rechargeable fan that I can clip to a tent hook. This seems to keep the moisture at a minimum. But the UK might just be moist and there isn’t much you can do about the condensation. I just try to mimic a slight wind in the tent and the tent is dry in the morning. Give it a try if you don’t mind carrying the extra weight of the fan. Love your Chicken Tikka idea and will explore making my own meals like you. Enjoy watching your adventures and love your little dog - lots of character. Thanks for the entertainment, visuals, and information. Best of luck - James in Arizona.
You're welcome James. We get some condensation in every tent because of the damp conditions in the UK (think north west USA / British Columbia). But this tent was the worst I've had regarding condensation plus it had some stitching issues so it was sent back for testing and a refund given.
Thanks for watching 👍
Arizona is a beautiful state. Will one day get back across the pond I hope.
Nice music. Reminds me of an old cocktail lounge
What a beautiful place . I travel here in the USA to mills and covered bridges . Love historical places . The drone really gives a birds eye view . She has such short little legs but seems to love your adventures . Do you ever have to carry her ? That passage way was cool . Two peas in a pod . Love the laughter and positive attitude you both have 🙏🏻💗
Opening Shot Perfect...
The expression on your dog's face when your cutting oppen your chicken meal! PRICELESS 🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏keep THEM podcasts COMMING 👍.
Will do 👍
The views are so perfect. It's beautiful how you can capture wilderness, rural countryside , suburbia and even urban cityscapes with a single 360 drone video. UK landscapes are unique for that "cultivated countryside" style. The expanses of what looks like manicured fields, enclosed by sturdy stone walls really attracts the eye. And the woodlands that aren't overrun with scrub and briars is unthinkable here, in Canada. Here, the understory growth is generally chest-high scrub and any open meadow is too. I'm glad I found your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! 🤩
What a great companion fendy is for you. Always leads the way. Good and faithful..another great video gaz.very enjoyable and informative thanks
Thanks 👍
That fur ball is really one of a kind. He is so happy.
She certainly is 🥰
I had 2 beautiful Boston Terriers and I get all misty whenever I watch you with Fendy.
Excellent channel. Relaxing and enjoyable.
That’s a lot of windows! Quite a luxury back in the day, I bet
Great to see such cool old ruins and walls I'm from the states and we don't have anything like that here ( there would be a golf course or condos instead blaaah!) Hope to see more. Dogo does steal the show (she is the perfect little companion for camping).
Haha yeah she's definitely the star of the show! 😍
The usa is a magnificent country, I've seen a bit on hols, but it would take a few lifetimes to see it all.
What a beautiful place to go camping! Listen to the birds chirping. Thank you again for taking us with you! I absolutely love going camping with you!!!! Hope all is well in Gaz and Findy's world!!!!!!!😍
Impressive scenery. Interesting areas of old buildings ,we live in a beautiful country, so much history,
We do Laurie 🥰
What a fabulous video Gaz! The views were stunning. The filming was amazing. Fendy was on the ball and you were great company!
Awww thank you so much! It puts a smile on my face knowing that people are enjoying what I do. It's why I do it and comments like this make it all the worth while ❤️
wow its very beautiful there where you are headed to.
It is mate. Not far from me either! 🤩
Great video. I can tell that you really love your daughter, Fendy. She is very lucky to have such a caring father as you.
Yes, thank you
A+ on your camera work, beautiful scenery, and drone work( or that angel with a camera)! Keep it up!
Thank you
You certainly eat well!
Again, I absolutely love your content and your sweet silly puppy. Such beautiful scenery. I appreciate the time you've taken with your content. So awesome, and yet again, I'm seriously wanting to go camping again. Definitely gotta gear up!
Thank you so much!

You're very welcome. 👍
Absolutely wonderful videos. A real insight into many of these hidden beautiful places. Your videos are so professional with great shots and great music. Well done to both of you.
So much history over ur neck of the woods.

Welcome aboard Daryl. Check out my hidden history playlist if you like the history side of my camps 👍
I love the drone video, I love the tour of the ruins and arching you and Fendi have fun! Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!
Wow!!! It’s so beautiful!
Jesus !!!!!!! I hope its not windy. You've certainly got a head for heights. I couldn't stand there 👀👀. Lovely to hear the birds singing. The man and his dog 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💕
Stunning ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Perfection ❤
hey Gaz, omg no way'' that would be embarrassing to anyone being caught trousers down wiping your ass!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg mate i spat my tea everywhere when you told us this'' bless ya i bet you didn't know where to put your face mate.
shame about that tent mate i couldn't use a tent if it got like that inside after one night that shite! that would be put right in the bin as soon as i found one!
great video and thanks for sharing.
👍👍👍👍👍THUMBS UP👍👍👍👍👍
Anthony, Derby
Both situations were a compromise tbh
Just catching up on your last couple of vids mate, really enjoyed them, good to see you getting some nice drone footage in there as well Gaz, mind that condensation is horrendous!! Don't think I've ever seen anything as bad as that !! Tent looks kinda similar to the banshee, be interesting to hear what vango say about it, even with that 4 season inner surely it shouldn't be that bad, poor Fendy is gonna have to wear a raincoat to bed 😞😞
Thanks Mick. I've heard similar stories with the Banshee regarding condensation. Not sure if it's something to do with the materials used on Vango tents or if it's the PU coating or lack of venting at the highest point??? It's getting picked up by Vango tomorrow for some testing so I'll let people know the outcome of that.
Thanks
You're welcome
Another awesome video. Looked like a great spot to camp with another great view 👍.
It was mate. Thanks for watching
@@GrizzlyGaz Amazing thumbnail on this video also 🔥!
Truly loving your guided videos. I have always wanted to see the UK ad now I get to see portions of it through your eyes/adventures. Also do your wife and kids share your passion for camping? You are an inspiration to actually get outside and enjoy the beautiful world around us.
Thank you
Not sure why you don't have more views. Just found your channel and love your videos. I think the algorithm hasn't been promoting you much. I watch similar videos and TH-cam only recommended you to me for the first time yesterday.
Thanks Shootin, that means a lot!
GREAT landscape. 💛
It definitely is! 😍
You are outstanding the way u explain everything and i could watch your dog all ofthe time
Thank you 🤩
Those are some incredible views !! What a place to camp. I couldn't believe the amount of condensation in your tent, looked like it'd rained in there!!
I stick a wool sock over my gas canisters to keep them freezing up, seems to work. I even keep it on while using my stove to stop the gas from separating in colder weather, never thought of putting them in my sleeping bag with me, have to give that a go ...lol.
Really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing it! .
You're very welcome my friend. I've used the wool sick trick before but I always forget 🤦🏼♂️🤣
@@GrizzlyGaz, no fear Griz, so do I ...🤣🤣
Spent my youth in shibden valley I used to lived over the road from upper shibden hall , scout hall we used to call the house off the hundred windows , shibden valley is my favourite place and many happy memories , making dens rope swings and hunting down there .
It's a beautiful place!
Amazing views and I love the cool drone music too😮😊
I love watching your videos with the lovely scenery.
But mostly I love fendi !! She really seems to enjoy the scenery as well, taking it all in...what a perfect life you are giving her!!
You are so kind
Absolutely love all your vlogs. Hurry and do more as Iv watched them all !!🤗 just love Fendy . She’s so adorable and great company on your travels . Stay safe you two ❤❤
Thank you! Will do!
Nice vid Gaz, looks a cracking spot. As suggested elsewhere, a complete lack of mesh in the upper portion (I believe) isn't going to help with venting damp air, resulting in internal showers!
Aye! It's going back to Vango tomorrow.
Lovely area...often go play my flute up there...the acoustics in the passage are amazing!
I bet that freaks people out when they hear a flute playing in the middle of nowhere! 🤣
@@GrizzlyGaz I'll make courier one day as the ghostly music of Anne Lister's spirit hahaha. To be fair I rarely see anyone up there if I can help it but I would imagine it would sound quite eerie...I play a native American style flute in bass Am so it's quite hauntig
@@giantsofold6567 glad I didn't hear that at daft o'clock while I was camping up there! 🤣
Beautiful scenery, wonderful music, but, Fendi is the one I come to see. I come to watch what Grizzly Gaz is up to, too. A wonderful human and his dog showing us the UK. Thank you for the videos.
Thank you for your kind words
gaz such an amazing beautiful place. love going on your travels with you and sweet fendy :) beautiful deers :)
Glad you enjoyed
Really enjoy your videos Brother!
Greetings from Florida, USA!
❤️🤘😎
👋👋👋
Hello, I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos. Your happy disposition and calm voice is wonderful to listen to. I also wanted to share a tip, I watched another camper with similiar condensation problems and she made sure to bring along a microfiber cloth to wipe down the inside of the tent. The cloth is easy to wring out and helps reduce the moisture left in the tent. Good luck with future adventures, I look forward to watching. Watching from Canada.
Thank you so much!
Hiya grizzly just found all your amazing content bloody brilliant very knowledgeable very funny and as for the star of the show fenny piglet just love her peace and love from 1 leg UK England
Welcome aboard
absolutely beautiful view.
nice video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Just started watching your video's, I really enjoy them. I love your dog! Great little buddy to explore with. :)
Thank you
Frisky Fenzle.
Watched your show a week ago and now watching every day lol. I’m an ex pat brit living in Australia and your vids warm my heart despite😊 the cold you endure. Magnificent work from you and Fendy
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video Gaz.bit of a mystery the condensation business.
I can only think it's because it's a fairly tight tent and theirs two of you in there.
Still, it shouldn't be that bad.
Love the historical part of this vid.
Probably your best video to date mate, really good stuff 👍🏻
Thank you so much! I do think that I'm getting better at making videos. I've always been interested in local history and like to share it with anyone that will listen 🤣
@@GrizzlyGaz I'm fairly local to that I never knew anything about it!
Mind you us keighleyians are not the brightest! 🤣
Haha you might have to tell me about any places you know of in Keighley I can go explore!?
TBF people in Queensbury don't even know about it 🫣
Beautiful scenery. I must say you two are so fit, so many miles youve walked. Thankyou for sharing this with us viewers.
Our pleasure!
The back of Fendy’s ears ❤❤❤
I appreciate these videos. As an American we have structures that are maybe 200 years old. You guys have stuff that's way older. Cool to see.
What a gorgeous place, wonderful drone footage too.
Thank you Mary
That very nice view ❤
It was!
hi gazz its amazing that those windows are not smashed what a large house i bet thats creepy at night around that villlllllllage such a shame so many abandaned buildings makes me wonder how people lived their lives back then loved this vidio so interesting thanks for sharing gazz home made chicken tikka my faverite how long do your home made meals keep and how do you store them looks cold in tent in morning nice bird song thats funny caught with your trousers down in a huge area like that you wouldent think there would be anyone else for miles
Such an amazing site for sure. Love them drone shots too!!
342 years old that calender house its so nice to see intact historic buildings still standing and not flattened for some throw up doll houses
Just another 18yrs and it's come full circle 😜
@@GrizzlyGaz haha true
Binge watching love your videos!
Share them far and wide! 😜
Grizzly Gaz: i absolutely love your videos especially this one where this place was lost in the 1800s plus you and Fendy are the true stars of these videos and besides its my way of enjoying the English Countryside
Thank you
Was that a pot of tea which you brewed?? What a fabulous spot to sit, admire the view, and sip on a hot drink!!
Coffee ☕
@@GrizzlyGaz That's even better!! ☕🤗👍Do your kids enjoy camping??
Yeah they love it but I don't film when I'm out with them.
@@GrizzlyGaz Glad to hear they enjoy it too. Quite understand that you don't film your private time with them.
Like the Shibden valley aerial segment with the music.
Fenzel is class Gaz

Thank you 🥰
That's an ankle breaker path, you did well😊
Thank you
❤❤❤
Hope all is well in your life right now man. you weren't your normal cheery-happy self in this video. Hope you found peace in this hike and lost whatever stress you were having in life. I'm sure your little fur ball helps with the stress.. She's such a good puppy!
This video is over a year old and I was still getting used to filming myself haha. Thank you though
Very beautiful 😊
😎
Amazing country side beauty 😍. When you were sitting having a brew and seeing that veiw I was a little jealous, lol . The calendar house....WOW ! I have always wanted to visit Wales but with my health issues now , 😩 . That tent is nice but all that condensation , thats a deal breaker. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country with us .
It's England not Wales 🤪🤣🤣
Excellent video Gaz. I live in Queensbury and I often go exploring in Shibden valley, it’s an incredible place.
It sure is
Your videos are brilliant, love the scary ones
Thanks Mark
Starting to get into these videos, enjoyed the ones I've watched 👍.
Thanks Paul. 👍
Wow Gaz, amazing camera work and thanks for showing me the hidden village as well as a few more hidden gems . I look forward to watching more of your Chanel and learning how to be a you tube creator..
Enjoy your night up beacon and thanks for listening to what I was saying.. it’s not easy saying what I believe and I understand how crazy it sounds.
Just behind scout hall was a quarry, I was told the Houses of Parliament were built with its stone as well as our town Hall.
Im finding new things all the time.. A Freind who works out lay lines noticed some interesting marking in the ground , just above cunnery woods .. so will investigate my self.. It’s a shame we don’t see half of the history that is around here. Like I said to you up on the hill, history has been manipulated, it’s a shame our council don’t bring there buildings back to life.. instead they would rather knock them down.
Keep up the good work.
If you ever fancy’s bit of ghost hunting, I’ll be up for it. I was going to camp in cunnery woods myself , or try sleeping in a hammock.. that was b4 I realised what it once was. Lol
Nice to see you again Mark and yes sadly all the local history is being slowly eroded away. This is one of the reasons I like to document it. Once it's on the internet it's there forever for people to see 👍 I'll mention you in my latest video but if I say something taking the Micky a bit please don't take it to heart, it's just for comedic effect/entertainment for the viewers 😜 it was very interesting hearing what you had to say and great that you're a fellow history buff too! Hope to see you again 👌
Don’t worry mate, I have a good sense of humour and look and sound like a bloody profit . Lol I might have interrupted your time laps.. I was a bit confused trying to work out what it was, so I’m guessing my face will be a picture. Lol
I thought your camera was some strange creature clinging on to the post.
@@kitkatwo6649 hahaha don't worry mate. It all adds to the entertainment 👌
Stunning

Class mate, watched the full video and really enjoyed it 👏 Great place for camping pal, I've never been caught wiping me arse but I've had a few close calls 💩 🤪 Shame about the condensation in the tent but the drone footage was absolutely tremendous 👌 Great video Gaz, all the best Chris 👍

Awesome video! The little bulldog playing in the tent stole the show. I was curious to know what kinda bird that was chirping in the morning. Take my sub
