Considering the markups dealers are putting on 2024 models like the dark horse (marking up to $75k) I’d say a real low mile 3 year old GT500 is a bargain at $80k.
You are absolutely wrong about the cornering prowess of the GT500. It is just as at home on a road course as it is on a drag strip. Maybe more so. And even more so with the carbon fiber track pack.
I am comparing it to lighter cars such as the C8, C7 Z06, Porsche Cayman, etc. Yes, it corners extremely well, but that's not it's MAIN purpose. If it was, it'd would not be a smart to make the car weigh 4,200lbs.
@@ProfessorDrives”not be a smart” correct. The GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack was actually on par with the 991.2 GT3 RS at a lot of tracks. While having a crazy sound, and costing half as much.
@@The-fs5wn A) single typing mistake B) I was not reviewing the carbon fiber track pack C) The GT3RS weighs 1,000lbs less than this GT500, it's not going to corner the same.
@@The-fs5wnI came here to make this exact comment, and I never leave comments. Come on man…you gotta do your research on what you’re reviewing. The car was literally designed with lap times in mind. 1/4 mile is just icing on the cake. Attend Track Attack (yes they use base models for the event) & tell me the GT500 isn’t a track or cornering type of car 😂
@@ProfessorDrivesyou are 100% wrong. It’s track prowess is literally its main focus. Fords entire ad campaign for the GT500 was bragging about its time around the Nurburgring. It beat a lot of super cars. Do your research bud…
Personally with 80,000 I would buy a nice c6-c7 and build it. But I dont think this is a bad deal at all. Im a chevy guy but i would definitely take this over a Zl1 camaro or a hellcat.
I was considering this car, but I personally think it's too large & heavy, and I didn't want to deal with a high hp RWD car again. Went for an AWD M4 instead
I'm in North Carolina, but I am looking to start reviewing viewers cars, so if you want to make something work, we can :). And that's an awesome car! Early congrats on that!
Still like the GT350 more, but Fords kind of suck and my 10k miles GT350 always set off check engine lights when there wasnt anything wrong with it. HAd to sell it. Hellcat is a better overall car IMHO
as beautiful as the c7s and c8s are, the c7 isnt faster def the c8 that beats em out but at that point, why are you comparing a muscle car to a super car? the c8 is a mid engine track monster, it’s american competition would be the 2016 ford GTs. But even then, the newest model the MKIV has over 800+ HP and 2400 FT LBS of downforce and its still using a v6 platform, now that in it of itself is a feat of engineering. No corvette is beating that thing we gotta wait a couple years. Not to mention the GT3s and 4s either

You remind me of a younger version of famed car reviewer TH-camr Doug DeMuro! Awesome content dude!
I’d definitely get this car after I’ve driven a Boss 302 for awhile lol
I just got to drive one around a track today, it's worth every penny

What’s the better car the Shelby gt500 or the C7 z06?
would reconsider saying the gt500 isn't a track weapon, but besides that great video !

Hell yea, it's worth it. You get better performance and power output than a lotta super cars that cost 2-3 x's more!
Don't forget about the 13-14 gt500 and supersnake.
Bro your in South Jersey? I live in Cinnaminson. I am buying a GT350R in a week if you want to review it.

Lol dodge huh
There is NOT 1 Ford on your channel. lol, What a Joke!!!!!
Take better care of your car then lmao
Not faster than the c7 z06 😉 0-60 in 2.9 and way lighter
0-60 isn't this cars forte, it's top end, where it shreds c7 z06s in youtube videos all over the place

Yes it is. Paid less and smile every time I drive it
