I’m a certified Yooper! I was born in Manistique and lived there for the first eight years of my life, my dad was a State trooper then he got transferred to Traverse City, my dad was from Detroit, so from 1st to 5th grade. I lived in Manistique. I’ve been all over the UP, but going to grade school was tough. I, like my dad was a Lions fan. But all the kids I went to school with were Packer fans, I told them you live in Michigan, forget that Wisconsin crap, I got in a lot of fist fights over that, but I can say I am a certified Yooper!!! and I am proud of that!

"If I didn't need the work I wouldn't be here"
    Truest song lyric ever written.

Are they a band or a podcast or radio thing? I want to listen to more of their stuff.

Oh, gosh how I missed this!!! We had this on cassette tape in a rusted out Toyota that broke in half, rusted the frame straight thru, but yea, me and my dad, off in tha woods and we used to drive that truck across tha bay down south, north of Green Bay, but yea, this one is art!

“Can’t kill Werner, I’m too tough!” Has been a saying in my family for years because of this

I love "yous" guys! My mother's family moved down from the UP, because Grandpa needed a job. (He was a miner.) Listening to you talk reminds me of my Uncles sitting around the kitchen table, having a beer or two, and talking at Grandma's house.😊

Im a u.p.native. houghton/hancock area. I can attest these are true stories. The u.p. def is a culture shock, but a positive one, best place in the u. s.a.
