Great Video, Thanks! For the Midra Boss fight, I could not use prayerful strike because it took too long to get the skill off. Instead, I set R1 to Heavy attack and I also used savage lions claw skill L2 which allowed me to get critical riposte!! Worked great.
Just beat the DLC yesterday with the Blasphemous Blade, I four shot Romina, one shot every phase for the scadutree avatar, also destroyed messmer, the hippo and was consistently four shotting to five shotting almost every boss except Radahn who I struggled with a lil bit cause despite the fact that I was doing 8900-7000 damage to and bayle who i ended up mainly using ancient dragons lightning strike for. Overall I think the build is the best in the game Equipment: Right hand: Blasphemous Blade, Deadly poison perfume( you can use the skill without getting the requirements to proc poison to trigger kindred of rot) ; Left hand: Erdtree Seal Armor: Full Rakshasa set Talismans: Talisman of the Dread, Shard of Alexander, Fire Scorpion Charm, Kindred of Rot Exhultation or Dragon crest greatshield physick: Flame shrouding cracked tear and Blood sucking cracked tear buff: Flame grant me strength, Golden Vow stats 50 vig, 25 mind, 24 end, 40 or 45 strength, close to 30 dex , 80+ faith Total damage of skill will be increased by 165-185% Leading to 10000-12000 damage with a good amount of scadutree fragments in the dlc/ base game kudos goodluck demolishing everything wit your blasphemous flames
This video would've been so helpful like last week. I took my basic base game build into the DLC and used it till the end. Right before I got to Radahn I swapped it out for a FlameKnight GreatSword build and although it's super fun to use, I'm getting folded lmao I was wondering why I kept seeing people use the great shield and poke technique and now I see why. Promised Consort Radahn has legit killed me over a 100 times already Lol I've gotten him one shot multiple times but haven't won yet Lol great video, I'm going to copy some of these for my second run through the DLC.
All those new weapons they gave us in the DLC and Blasphemous Blade is still the best, IMO. It carried me through the DLC and is actually the weapon I used when I defeated Radahn (along with Mimic Tear summon). I did not use a shield, but next time I will, because those light beams just kept clipping me in his second phase. Overall, a tough final boss, but I managed to get the job done in just an hour after my first attempt. BTW, Miquella's Great Rune is very useful in this fight, and it has infinite uses. If you do get grabbed and charmed by Miquella, use his rune to remove the charm immediately after you regain control of your character and if you get grabbed again, you will not die. You just have to remember to use the rune to remove the charm after each time you get grabbed.
The blasphemous blade will carry you thru the entire game/dlc. If an enemy is fire resistant just have lightning incantations. That’s all I did. Had Sword of Milos in my offhand for the FP regen on kill out in the world and in dungeons. Two hand the BB and swap to whatever seal you have on bosses. Easy
I played probably 90% of the DLC with Blasphemous Blade. I switched to Siluria's Tree for Messmer and Midra since I assumed bosses attacking with fire would be highly resistant to fire. Aside from that, I used the Dragon-Hunter Great Katana for the entire section of Jagged Peak. Other than that, I used Blasphemous Blade for most bosses, including Radahn, which I beat with the very basic setup of Blasphemous Blade and Mimic Tear, and I did not use a shield at all, which if I did, the fight would've been a hell of a lot easier. I think it only took me an hour after my first attempt to defeat Radahn, so overall a difficult boss, but not at all impossible.
I used the Dragon-Hunter Great Katana against Bayle and had him defeated in 2 tries. I only died on the first attempt because I wasted time trying to find Igon's summon sign since I completely missed seeing it right after I entered the boss arena.
I used it for scadutree avatar, putrescent knight, gaius, and even messmer. The distance the skill covers is incredible. The aoe is visually stunning, but is bugged and barely hits stuff 🥲
13:18 When I fought him on NG+7 I intentionally went behind him to bait out the kick because it gives you one of the safer openings. Yeah I still find him pretty bad, but at least as a co-op summon I'm starting to get good against him (latency makes avoiding attacks slighly easier).
@@AverageGamerMatt Yeah, I hate it when I roll and the boar's body hitbox remains connected to my character for the entire animation garanteeing a rollcatch.

im in the middle of doing the DLC on my crucible knight build and might be my favorite so far. Theres a LOT of new DLC weapons with primary str secondary fth scaling, probably more than pure fth scaling, and clawmark seal gives you a ton of versatility because you can be a str caster. if i remember right 55 str/25 fth is most optimal setup at 150 (thats what ive been running), with 55 STR if you 2h a weapon it gives you 81 virtual str which is the first softcap, 25 faith gives you good secondary scaling on all your weps/seals and lets you get access to the best buffs/incants. Only downside is most of the new crucible incantations are dogshit, but its not something that hinders the fun
@johnwaters1768 I think I'll go a bit more into faith. The thorns one doesn't seem too bad and I always liked the horns incantation. What weapon are you using? I'm thinking of using silurias tree and than another weapon so I can use that wings art of war . I'll upgrade the hammer and ordovis aswell if I get enough ancient somber. I'm probably gonna go to 200 . Right now I just need 1 ancient somber and I can switch my build up.
Yep it’s very broken/a bit too easy imo. It also has some RNG too for me. I still believe it may get nerfed a bit when they do another balance patch so I avoided it.

I was so tilted over his attacks that makes him immune and the weird hitboxes and how wide the attacks are that i could not use Blind Spot, which i LOVE to use. (not a fan of dodging like 8 times just to land 1 hit, being able to keep attacking with blind spot feels so awesome to me)
Enjoy all your builds. Idk if it matters, but im not a fan of the music in the background. Ive noticed in for a bit now. Its not a big deal though. If most ppl like it and you like it then ill still watch anyway. Its barely noticeable most of the time. I think it may be better if it changed, like during fights and showcases have it going, then switch to a different background music when you go over stats. Because it might just be too much of the same bleeding through the whole video making everything runn together, which works against you and the way you naturally speak fast and run things together. Idw to just sound like im critical. Just wanted to share my thoughts. I watch every video you put out so i appreciate all your work

You have been doing a great job, always improving. Even the music adds to that development. It might be expecting too much, but maybe scoring the videos. Different background music to separate segments. Showing off a weapon against a boss could have music that reflects action. And then the talk of stats and build items can have like a "preparing" type music. If you show how to get something and the path to go, steps to do etc .. you can have a music for that. Still all very subtle as you have the music now. Because I think the only drawback is being the same music overlaying the background mixed with how fast you speak makes it all run together. An audio switch will help slow thinking ppl like myself, keep up with the information you are sharing. Anyway just wanted to share my thoughts. I really do appreciate all the work. I even go back to old videos sometimes for build ideas

I cheesed Commander Gaius with Mohg's Sacred Spear behind the corner. This boss is just awful. Now I am stuck with Midra (NG+5). He just eliminates me in his second phase.

Saw a short video with commander bullshit. His hit box is centered more in his body so when you roll into him to dodge you have to wait almost until his horns hit you or his body will hit you. Super dumb, doesn’t make any sense, but it is what it is. Good video Matt! I love that you’re adding in some new dlc weapons in this even though the BB is still 👑.
Summoning Spirit Ashes does not buff a boss in any way. Actually, any summoning done after you've entered the boss arena will not buff the boss in any way, and you can only summon Spirit Ashes after you've entered a boss arena. You can summon Hornsent to help you fight Messmer, and Igon to help you fight Bayle, without the penalty of increasing the HP of those bosses. It also works this way in the base game for all the NPC summons you can use when fighting Radahn in Caelid. It is when you summon NPC's or other players outside of the boss arena when the boss gets a buff.

I could not agree more with your comments on Commander Gaius, it's ahorribly designed boss and it seems out of place with all the other bosses, worst one ever in the entire game, it's not even fun hard, it's just frustrating hard, at least the other bosses were fun to fight and die to. The charge hit box makes no sense, my son and I were screaming about this boss to each other and helped each other on the first playthrough. Just horrible design, I could complain for hours or write a book on that bastard lol

I used Flamestrike curved great club in fire affinity to beat avatar. Use other tree to kill bad tree works shockingly well

The Ancient Meteoric Greatsword AoW knocks down every NPC and you can stun lock everything

True! I just think he’s awful by design. He doesn’t even have his own soundtrack..lol plus the 3 hit invisible hitbox charge is just stupid imo.

For anyone wanting a one build to rule them all go either bloodfiend arm or impenetrable thorns.
Bloodfiend’s arm, thorns or BB which is still 👑 the healing alone makes it best. Easy mode lol
On Radahn i used the new Thorn bleed spell and it did 17300 damage per cast(SL200) which phased him with the first cast.

Idk if it's me but if I use my mimic the bosses just get stronger I was getting smoked
