My husband & I swam with the manatees in their natural habitat in Chrystal River, Fl. There was a baby too! They are such awesome gentle creatures. You’re not aloud to touch or mess with them in any way which we really appreciated. The river has a natural spring of fresh water. Cold! But beautiful.

I saw one in Florida with my mother when we were on a trip one time. What was so weird was that she was literally mentioning how she saw one when she was on the Yucatan Peninsula and at the moment she was talking about it, we saw one float by. They are really really cute.

I live in West Palm beach Florida and have for my whole life, when I was young they were at every dock...... Not anymore 😢😭 they are kind of a rare sight these days unfortunately. Save the Manatees!
Cause the boats at the docks kill them with their propellors. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
They aren't suppose to be near docks, this is why it is illegal to feed manatees. It encourages them to come near docks and can get them hurt or killed.

What apparently isn't so obvious is that sea animals don't need to drink fresh water. I thought that would have been obvious, but apparently not.
