It's pretty sad that even though the character of Billy was so good that David Yost had to deal with so much bullshit for being gay to the point it was either quit the show or commit suicide, luckily he quit the show and learned to love and accept himself afterwards and decided to open up about his own problems to help people in similar situations. That's another reason why he's a good role model / ranger in my humble opinion.
Couldn’t agree more. And for me, I was born in 2000, and I’m a guy who’s into women. But if I was to ever meet the guy David Yost who played Billy, I would absolutely like to give him a hug, and tell him that if I would have been around the time, that he was getting bullied, as well as getting harassed for being a gay man, I would tell him myself, even though I’m not gay or bisexual or transgender myself, I would both support him, as well as have his back when it comes to anything, all related to being gay, and he would have my respect, because even if I’m not a gay guy myself, I would make sure that he would be doing okay, and I can also make sure to check if he’s still getting bullied or not, all because he is gay himself.
Happy to see TJ on the list. After recently rewatching Turbo and In Space I forgot how much I liked him as a character. It actually makes me upset that he was only able to be a Red Ranger for half a season. But even at that he was a highlight for In Space.
TJ was an amazing Ranger in general. However, I think he had the bad luck to inherit the team at arguably one of the worst times in Ranger History. People give TJ a lot of flack for not being able to defeat that final monster that destroyed the Turbo Megazord at the end of the series, but I think when you really go back and look at it, that monster was just way too strong, point blank. Besides, other leaders lost way more Zords then him in far less perilous situations.
I personally loved TJ because of how he seemed to willingly give himself a demotion realizing how they had much more to learn about their new positions as ''Space'' Rangers rather than ''Earth'' Rangers

TJ lost Zords and the Power Chamber like the previous leaders did before him, he just didn't have another chance as a Red Ranger like Jason and Tommy had.

Theo is probably the most underrated Blue Ranger; he took out all 3 Spirit Rangers at once! I have a hard time deciding if Blake is a Blue Ranger, I would put him at Top 5 on my list if he counted. (He’s just one of my favorite rangers)
I think Blake is definitely a blue ranger but you also kinda get into a debate if he is more valuable than Tori or not. He is a blue ranger but more of the sixth ranger/extra ranger variety.
Your #1 was kinda expected, but c'mon... who can really beat Billy? What hurts me the most is how much David Yost was bullied on the set because of his homosexuality and that this was the primary reason he left the show. I wish being gay was as accepted as much as it is now. Maybe it could have been a different situation.

Not to mention his growth. Out of all the original rangers, Billy in my eyes, had the most growth. He went from someone who could barely take on a putty to kicking ass and taking names. He's one of the best, if not the best.

My opinion, TJ should've been Number 1. Billy is legendary but TJ dealt with his "demotion" with an astounding sense of grace. He was always a red ranger through and through to me, which he carried to blue and made that role so much more.
I completely agree. Also, one of the things about TJ was he was just so charismatic and a natural leader. He didn't always need a mentor figure around to give him advice.
I ABSOLUTELY agree with your list, in particular everything you said about Billy. He's not my all time favorite ranger but he was the one who was most consistently challenged and most consistently had to rise above himself and do more...BE more. He accomplished so much, saved the day time and time again and never ONCE let that go to his head. I practiced martial arts and one of the eight key concepts we were taught was Humility. Billy was humble enough to step down as a ranger and continue helping the team. If you ask me the biggest misstep Zeo made was not simply letting billy return as a ranger, even for a brief time. And it's why I Billy the lead ranger in the season I outlined to you in your "best ranger team video" I also very much appreciate how you mentioned TJ's time in the leader spot in Turbo actually HELP him as the Blue Space Ranger. It doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not the Blue Ranger becomes the proverbial second in command, the one everyone else listens to when the Red Ranger is out of the picture...and it was TJ was the first to assume that role. It also made SO MUCH sense for In Space when you consider that literally the rest of his team was already used to following him in their Turbo days.
Flynn is best boy. He may not have gotten a lot of character development, but he also didn't particularly NEED it. His backstory showed someone who was always eager and ready to help and now that it's the apocalypse he's in his element.
Flynn has my favorite funny moment. "Red's the leader, black's the bad boy, green is the goofy one, and yellow...she's the girl. What are you?" "I'M SCOTTISH!!!"

I dont like sky that much or many blue rangers for that matter so here it is 1:billy 2:tj 3:kai 4:dino thunder blue (cant think of name atm) 5:megaforce blue (cant rember name atm)
Sky's character was hot headed and stubborn at first. He wanted to be the red ranger like his father to make him proud. His pride was what made him a blue ranger. And then as the series progress, he knows that people (except for people who are evil of course.) can be the leader and not just one person. I like Sky's character. And he's one of my favorite blue rangers. If not, one of the best.

No Koda, haha. But other than Noah (which I felt was a bit of a parody of nerds, plus his Super Megaforce transition wasn't natural IMO) and Madison (mostly reading that she's probably one of the least focused rangers ever) I agree with the others. I felt Koda though should've stood out being the heart of the team. Not sure what other blues are like that other than maybe Flynn.

Billy is amazing. He REALLY comes into his own by season 3 and even acknowledges (without overdoing) his role as OG member. Honestly I kind of like that he didn’t go Zep. Mmpr triceratops is one of my fav suits ever. Billy also gets the most girls of any guy on that show.
Growing up as a kid... And even more so now as an Adult... Billy is my hero! He made me realize that you didn't have to be "cool" to be a superhero, and David Yost's overcoming of horrible prejudices is something that I can relate to all too well. Billy, ultimately, is the archetype whenever someone calls out MORPHENOMINAL!!!
I can agree with every Ranger on the list except for Noah. Even Justin, Lucas, and Max were far better Blue Rangers than Noah. If Ethan has similarities to Billy then Noah has similarities to Ethan but without any of the redeeming qualities.
I agree 100%. I'm actually surprised he put Noah on the list considering how much he bashed the poor character development and overall focus of Megaforce, even with Noah. All his honorable mentions were better blue rangers then Noah. Rocky is also a better blue ranger then Noah.
I'm glad you've been able to get feedback for your own stories and are incorporating it and rewriting. i'm one of those who found them a bit difficult due to lack of connection and character development. I look forward to seeing how the next draft goes.

And i definitely agree with your top 10 list but your #1 pick is by far my All Time Favorite Blue Ranger 💙 Billy Cranston has always been my favorite character & my favorite Blue Ranger and David Yost is my favorite actor in Power Rangers and he always will be . Personally I'd love to see Hasbro to bring Billy back as a mentor for a season or two. He has the intellect but also the heart that would make him the perfect candidate. Per the rules of canon, he cannot morph, even to this day.
It takes a lot to make a top 10 list and realize your favorite character isn't justified at being at number one. Respect. I love your reasoning for each ranger and I especially agree with the top 2 (no spoilers here). Both characters went through significant character development and were integral to their seasons. Without them the season takes a serious nosedive...ok maybe not so much number 2 but still the loss would be felt. Mighty Morphin was my first and though many rangers have better story arcs and character development, Billy is my Blue Ranger. His friendship with Trini was sweet and I like how he wanted to be both smart and athletic. His actor was a ballet dancer so it was believable to see him kicking posterior. Also credit to his actor suffering ridicule for being gay but still attending cons and meeting with fans. Happy LGBTQ month and looking forward to your next video.
TJ was just screwed over by having to replace Tommy, half a season after Jason and Billy also left, and in a comedic season. As Blue Ranger, he was such a great leader, and Ranger in general, that he really proved the color roles were superfluous.
It's not about the colour that you bear that defines the ranger, it's the character itself and its ability to rise above the challenges they face as rangers. TJ here even though he did go to Blue for the in Space season, he still retains the leadership, backbone and level-headedness to still effectively be the ranger that has a leading role support system.
I'll grant you Noah's first focus episode but after that there was still not a lot with him. And also , this was one the problems with Megaforce. The Characters are more archtype trait then they are personality. The problem is that they wanted to create layers for Noah and failed at it. My second example being episode 3 of Super megaforce with the swordsman monster and my apologies for comparing it to Gokaiger but. Joe had layers to why he was training so hard to beat that monster. Noah only got all serious about the monster just because he got his butt whooped

Nice video, agree with almost everything, although I prefer Sky over Billy. It would be nice when doing the top 10 red rangers to compare them to their Super Sentai counterparts( of course if you've seen them.) and say how that helps their character in power rangers whether they are very different or more or less just the same. My favorite blue ranger will pretty much always be billy compared to others because of his technological smartness since he created many gadgets and such that helped his team as well as his personality
Fun Fact: Billy's actor originally auditioned for the role of Jason and even won the role but then decided to give it to the man we all know as Jason. Before that Billy was going to played by either the actors of Zach and Skull.
Honestly happy someone is lenient towards an actor from megaforce. Remember people, megaforce sucked because of the showrunners and not mainly the actors.

Dino Thunder had the BEST acting out of all of the seasons. If they maintained this standard of acting during the rest of them, I feel they could've been so much better. Granted, I do LOVE Power Rangers, but Dino Thunder is my all time favorite Season.
Funny enough, I would have personally put Justin at the 10th spot because of how memorable he was. I think after the original turbo team left, Justin was treated more as an equal to the team rather than someone the others (especially Tommy) had to look out for. I loved his friendship with TJ and their funny exchange when Justin saw TJ as the blue ranger in "True Blue to the Rescue."
I think for me, Billy will always be at the top spot, because he always had to deal with adversity, yet he always found a way to rise to the challenge, conquering it. The only thing I really wish done differently with Billy would have to be having him as the blue ranger, when he actually could have been red ranger instead of Rocky. This is mainly because Rocky had just learned who the rangers were, and he's just given the position of red ranger, whereas Billy had been there working to better himself, and it would have given him the experience needed later, when he stepped down, and became an assistant/mentor, and helping the Aquitian rangers.
Flinn is so likeable and loveable as the bright eyed optimistic selfless hero. Eithan is a fan favorite because he's one of the few geeky characters that doesn't feel like a stereotypical nerd. Theo was a risky idea but written so well that he got past his risky character idea. TJ was a red ranger, and he stayed as a great ranger even when he got demoted to blue but he made the space team even better because of his attitude, giving the space team 2 great leaders. Sky had one of the best and deepest character arks of all time in ranger history, and Billy... I couldn't have said it better myself, Billy was around for so long and changed in such a natural way, that we all grew up with him as a role model and inspiration, that is what being a hero is all about. Billy is the backbone and stepping stone on much of Power Rangers identity as a franchise and he will always be one of the greats.

My first Blue is the first Blue Ranger who fought a team (as a Black Ranger) who lacks a blue ranger (but their tech, Ava, takes a lot from Billy). Eustus might seem a little conservative and Mysterious, but he is truly an old soul who wants to be a lifelong learner. He comes to accept the choice of the green ranger to transition. As The Quantum Galaxy Ranger, he even ends up with the rangers in Scotland and gets a kilt (his last name is MacAlister as a slight homage to Flynn). I feel he is kind of based off his Sentai Counterpart, Tsurugi, for being an old soul who is a highly skilled introvert/outsider who is integral to the teams success (since Eustus was Shogun Black, maybe he can bring Phoebe back to her siblings side an Tsurugi fought Jark Matter long ago)
In my opinion TJ and Chad are the most underrated blue rangers and they both are in my top ten. My top ten might surprise everyone. 1:Billy 2:Sky 3:Ravi 4:Preston 5:TJ 6:Chad 7:Blake 8:Madison 9:Rocky 10:Lucas or Noah Kai, Tori, Theo, Flynn and Max were good rangers just not in my top ten. I didn't care for Dax, Kevin, Koda and Justin. And I consider Blake as a blue ranger. He was navy. Cam was the sixth ranger that season. Not Blake.

Very true about Billy’s improvement; and as you say, it wasn’t rushed, so it felt real and relatable. Whereas Donatello in TMNT was both a genius and a good fighter from the start, Billy had to work at it, and you went on that journey with him.

I completely agree. Also, one of the things about TJ was he was just so charismatic and a natural leader. He didn't always need a mentor figure around to give him advice.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with your list, in particular everything you said about Billy. He's not my all time favorite ranger but he was the one who was most consistently challenged and most consistently had to rise above himself and do more...BE more. He accomplished so much, saved the day time and time again and never ONCE let that go to his head. I practiced martial arts and one of the eight key concepts we were taught was Humility. Billy was humble enough to step down as a ranger and continue helping the team. If you ask me the biggest misstep Zeo made was not simply letting billy return as a ranger, even for a brief time. And it's why I Billy the lead ranger in the season I outlined to you in your "best ranger team video"
I also very much appreciate how you mentioned TJ's time in the leader spot in Turbo actually HELP him as the Blue Space Ranger. It doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not the Blue Ranger becomes the proverbial second in command, the one everyone else listens to when the Red Ranger is out of the picture...and it was TJ was the first to assume that role. It also made SO MUCH sense for In Space when you consider that literally the rest of his team was already used to following him in their Turbo days.
Flynn is best boy. He may not have gotten a lot of character development, but he also didn't particularly NEED it. His backstory showed someone who was always eager and ready to help and now that it's the apocalypse he's in his element.

Sky's character was hot headed and stubborn at first. He wanted to be the red ranger like his father to make him proud. His pride was what made him a blue ranger. And then as the series progress, he knows that people (except for people who are evil of course.) can be the leader and not just one person. I like Sky's character. And he's one of my favorite blue rangers. If not, one of the best.

No Koda, haha. But other than Noah (which I felt was a bit of a parody of nerds, plus his Super Megaforce transition wasn't natural IMO) and Madison (mostly reading that she's probably one of the least focused rangers ever) I agree with the others. I felt Koda though should've stood out being the heart of the team. Not sure what other blues are like that other than maybe Flynn.

Billy is amazing. He REALLY comes into his own by season 3 and even acknowledges (without overdoing) his role as OG member. Honestly I kind of like that he didn’t go Zep. Mmpr triceratops is one of my fav suits ever. Billy also gets the most girls of any guy on that show.
Growing up as a kid... And even more so now as an Adult... Billy is my hero! He made me realize that you didn't have to be "cool" to be a superhero, and David Yost's overcoming of horrible prejudices is something that I can relate to all too well. Billy, ultimately, is the archetype whenever someone calls out MORPHENOMINAL!!!

I can agree with every Ranger on the list except for Noah. Even Justin, Lucas, and Max were far better Blue Rangers than Noah. If Ethan has similarities to Billy then Noah has similarities to Ethan but without any of the redeeming qualities.
I agree 100%. I'm actually surprised he put Noah on the list considering how much he bashed the poor character development and overall focus of Megaforce, even with Noah. All his honorable mentions were better blue rangers then Noah. Rocky is also a better blue ranger then Noah.
Kevin should have been 9# instead of Noah.
I'm glad you've been able to get feedback for your own stories and are incorporating it and rewriting. i'm one of those who found them a bit difficult due to lack of connection and character development. I look forward to seeing how the next draft goes.

Personally I'd love to see Hasbro to bring Billy back as a mentor for a season or two. He has the intellect but also the heart that would make him the perfect candidate. Per the rules of canon, he cannot morph, even to this day.
It takes a lot to make a top 10 list and realize your favorite character isn't justified at being at number one. Respect. I love your reasoning for each ranger and I especially agree with the top 2 (no spoilers here). Both characters went through significant character development and were integral to their seasons. Without them the season takes a serious nosedive...ok maybe not so much number 2 but still the loss would be felt. Mighty Morphin was my first and though many rangers have better story arcs and character development, Billy is my Blue Ranger. His friendship with Trini was sweet and I like how he wanted to be both smart and athletic. His actor was a ballet dancer so it was believable to see him kicking posterior. Also credit to his actor suffering ridicule for being gay but still attending cons and meeting with fans. Happy LGBTQ month and looking forward to your next video.

When they went to space at the end of the Turbo season, Blue suited TJ better than Red.
TJ was just screwed over by having to replace Tommy, half a season after Jason and Billy also left, and in a comedic season. As Blue Ranger, he was such a great leader, and Ranger in general, that he really proved the color roles were superfluous.
I agree but I would've love to see him as the red ranger a little bit longer. He is so underrated.
It's not about the colour that you bear that defines the ranger, it's the character itself and its ability to rise above the challenges they face as rangers. TJ here even though he did go to Blue for the in Space season, he still retains the leadership, backbone and level-headedness to still effectively be the ranger that has a leading role support system.

I'll grant you Noah's first focus episode but after that there was still not a lot with him. And also , this was one the problems with Megaforce. The Characters are more archtype trait then they are personality. The problem is that they wanted to create layers for Noah and failed at it. My second example being episode 3 of Super megaforce with the swordsman monster and my apologies for comparing it to Gokaiger but. Joe had layers to why he was training so hard to beat that monster. Noah only got all serious about the monster just because he got his butt whooped

Dino Thunder had the BEST acting out of all of the seasons. If they maintained this standard of acting during the rest of them, I feel they could've been so much better. Granted, I do LOVE Power Rangers, but Dino Thunder is my all time favorite Season.

TJ I could see as the number 2, and I'd prefer it that way.
Funny enough, I would have personally put Justin at the 10th spot because of how memorable he was. I think after the original turbo team left, Justin was treated more as an equal to the team rather than someone the others (especially Tommy) had to look out for. I loved his friendship with TJ and their funny exchange when Justin saw TJ as the blue ranger in "True Blue to the Rescue."
I think for me, Billy will always be at the top spot, because he always had to deal with adversity, yet he always found a way to rise to the challenge, conquering it.
The only thing I really wish done differently with Billy would have to be having him as the blue ranger, when he actually could have been red ranger instead of Rocky. This is mainly because Rocky had just learned who the rangers were, and he's just given the position of red ranger, whereas Billy had been there working to better himself, and it would have given him the experience needed later, when he stepped down, and became an assistant/mentor, and helping the Aquitian rangers.
Flinn is so likeable and loveable as the bright eyed optimistic selfless hero. Eithan is a fan favorite because he's one of the few geeky characters that doesn't feel like a stereotypical nerd. Theo was a risky idea but written so well that he got past his risky character idea. TJ was a red ranger, and he stayed as a great ranger even when he got demoted to blue but he made the space team even better because of his attitude, giving the space team 2 great leaders. Sky had one of the best and deepest character arks of all time in ranger history, and Billy... I couldn't have said it better myself, Billy was around for so long and changed in such a natural way, that we all grew up with him as a role model and inspiration, that is what being a hero is all about. Billy is the backbone and stepping stone on much of Power Rangers identity as a franchise and he will always be one of the greats.

My first Blue is the first Blue Ranger who fought a team (as a Black Ranger) who lacks a blue ranger (but their tech, Ava, takes a lot from Billy). Eustus might seem a little conservative and Mysterious, but he is truly an old soul who wants to be a lifelong learner. He comes to accept the choice of the green ranger to transition. As The Quantum Galaxy Ranger, he even ends up with the rangers in Scotland and gets a kilt (his last name is MacAlister as a slight homage to Flynn). I feel he is kind of based off his Sentai Counterpart, Tsurugi, for being an old soul who is a highly skilled introvert/outsider who is integral to the teams success (since Eustus was Shogun Black, maybe he can bring Phoebe back to her siblings side an Tsurugi fought Jark Matter long ago)

Very true about Billy’s improvement; and as you say, it wasn’t rushed, so it felt real and relatable. Whereas Donatello in TMNT was both a genius and a good fighter from the start, Billy had to work at it, and you went on that journey with him.
