Absolutely love this as well as all your other builds. Extremely jealous of your painting and modeling skills. Massive borderlands fan can't wait for no.3
Two questions: why has SKS props not being hired by Hollywood? Why does he not have subscribers in the hundreds of thousands? The quality and skills is outstanding. I'd buy that mask straight away
this is an absolutely gorgeous mask. The paintjob is flawless and looks identical to the one on the cover. I wasn't even looking for a tutorial on this specific mask but one for making masks in general and from the ones i could find, you're the only one making tutorials so easy to understand!! Thank you so much!
I don't usually subscribe to a chanel after one video but I'm impartial towards borderlands, and the mask is just awesome, besides that the video is so informative with the description of all the steps and the explanation why something is done.
Ima be honest when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was just a picture of the mask in the game. That's crazy awesome how it looked like it belongs there :0
Even though I got to see you make some of these in person when I came out, it never ceases to amaze me to see what you do man. Voodoo I tell you lol. Also I could tell that was Ethan immediately - I recognize those pecs! hahaha. Awesome work my friend
Would love to see your take on a 40K assassin mask sure it would be the best thing I Eversor! Turned out great your an inspiriation mate cheers for sharing.
Hey man I'm looking for a bit of advice. How much money would you recommend setting aside for a novice to get started in doing clay sculpting and casting? Things such as mask and 6-12 inch sculptures of various characters. Also how sustainable are the supplies? Like is the monster clay reusable and how often would you say you have to buy new silicone and such for the castings?
Monster Clay is not very expensive and yes it is reusable, tubs run about $30-$35. Silicone and resin are what gets expensive gallon kit of silicone is around $200 gallon kit of resin around $90
@@septendecim7390 From what I've heard, while silicone and resin is expensive, you do get a fair bit of volume with both of them. Of course, if you're selling your castings, it'll pay off in time.
Love to see your new posts everytime, man. Just gets me motivated to start my own next builds everytime. I wanted to ask, i've never done casting yet, you said you used about 4-5 layers for the "main" shell, and from the looks of it the mask is about 5mm thick. Does the Smooth-on slightly expand as it cures or is the actual layer itself a bit thicker than when you pour it? (im imagining it as a liquid, so like a really thin film so maybe my idea of it is skewed)
I love this so much! I have been wanting to do a Roadhog from Overwatch cosplay for awhile but have been so intimated by the mask making process because i dont have any experience with clay sculpting. Any advice on how you would achieve the roadhog mask?
Alexander Daniels Thanks! Same exact way sculpt , mold, cast. Unless you were needing to be more cost effective then id use foam. Check out www.sksprops.com I’ve got build threads that show both ways 👍
You think its possible you can sell them as just the resin mold? So we can paint em ourselves? Otherwise insane work man, i love all of your work on the mask and you've earned a subscriber
Hi sks Props, I'm trying to gather all the materials and I'm having a bit of an issue with the black scrim, are you supposed to be able to see thought it? I've never herd of scrim before, but the one I bought is kinda thick and there's no way can see thought it. I'm just wondering it there's a type of scrim or brand name that is see-thought? Scrim is canevas in french. :) Thanks for everything, I'll bother you more with other things later :)

Love the mask but I'm wondering how well you can see out of it with the LEDs in the center of the eye holes.
You can see fine. the leds are above the eyes line of sight so you look out underneath of them.
Wow. That's the mask they handed out at pax west this year
About the LED in the mask: don't they block or disturb vision?
No they are positioned above the line of sight so you look out right underneath of them
