This is what I did.. turned on old case on it's side with side panels off, placed on a end table. Used an on HP motherboard with a Core 2 Quad and 4 PCIe ports. Bought a PCIe splitter card, Cheap server PSU and breakout board. Used an old laptop hard drive and installed HiveOS. Started combing FB marketplace for cheap 5700XTs... I'm in at $260 on those. Also using RX48/580's but the original purpose was to heat my place this winter. GPUs are standing upright with my air purifier blowing from the bottom upwards.

A lot of advice in this video is outdated or inaccurate. It’s almost as if this was recorded in 2020…
Don’t buy an intel cpu for mining. They are not profitable.
Use server power supplies instead of desktop atx.
Don’t buy cheap risers from Amazon. Parallelminer and gpurisers have been reliable stores for a long time for everything you would possibly need.
Don’t buy mining specific cards that have zero resale value.
The electricity usage advice was on point just dont buy any of this stuff from a decade ago.

Was thinking the same thing. On NiceHash they have a profitability calculator and putting in intel-cpu-i7-9700k compared to nvidia-cmp-30hx gives a profit of 3.90 per month vs 4.82 per month. No idea how he manages to get $200 a week. What did I miss?

you could get a second hand Epyc MB where you can split the PCI lanes on the PCI-16 interfaces, they have something like 128 PCI lanes

You can buy a MB with only two PCIE ports, you can use a four port PCIE extender to put eight cards in. The main focus should be on the chipset, like AM4 has 16 PCIE lanes and the Intel chipsets varies between 6 and 24. You just have to read the description. I always buy MB's with atleast 12 or 20, depends on the number of cards in the build, since mining uses one PCIE lane per card.

Question, cause you were talking about space and needs to be open air.
I have a soundproof enclosure I built for an ASIC that I underclock to use 400 watts with a 1800 watt 240v PSU inside as well.
Has been running perfectly in there for months. The enclosure has about 12" of clearance at the height and depth, but 5 feet wide. The miner doesn't get hot and maintains cool cause I use two inline fans for forced air. Intake averages around 15C and exhaust is about 25C. The plus side is I use a filter at the intake duct to keep it dust free.
I will add, I have run the ASIC at 1200 watts and the exhaust can reach temperatures of nearly 50C and still runs fine. Though I keep a close eye on it.
I would be removing the ASIC and considering making room for a GPU rig. Do you think it would be okay in there? Given that I would not be able to just buy a wire rack, I would have to fabricate a custom made rack. Like a wood frame.

He's talking about running a dedicated line from your electrical panel, etc, so I'd say this route is actually DANGEROUS for someone who is a beginner to electrical circuits and computer hardware. Perhaps watching other videos that recommend already assembled inexpensive mining rigs would be a safer starting option for actual noobs.

You may want to add solar, in the uk electric costs £0.236kwh.
So profits are tiny. As its summer and i was exporting loads i pulled part of my soalr down to my off grid aystem.
If youre cheap, you're not going to do that as its not cheap doing it that way, but... You can get a micro solar system, for about £130+ 73 you could power your system and anything you dont use, goes into the house power, lowering that bill. And at the kwh price i think the return ia much better, so you may want to go all out on that anyway, making money and saving money are one of the same!!!
If you can make 500w thats 12p an hour. Tell me if you get more than that with mining? No!
But when you do mine, with free power, then its all profits. I couldnt do it any other way here..
And its power used to profit that really works. I have a power budget to build the rig. So im hunting down stuff that i can run, knowing the following.
Its within the excess of my solar.
Thwt my off grid battery can run it over night, and i have enough spare power to charge in the day.
Hard thinking going into this... And a lot of math!!

much better off with an rx580 or an rx5700xt . . . . . . you can triple mine etc, zil and gram - hardly anyone is talking about this triple combo. also your new rig should be am4 so you can put in a nice cpu and get cpu mining AT THE SAME TIME. all our rigs have the cpu on SOMETHING eg ghostrider on zergpool - payout in bnb anybody NOT cpu mining on their gpu mining rig(s) is a really silly berk. my top tip for a starter rig is am4 board with b450 chipset - ryzen 3600 , dual ram and two rx5700xts. install minerstat linux get the gpus in R mode - dual mine zil and etc on k1pool - and slip in the gram mining on top. then you can run xmrig on the cpu and mine randomx on unmineable and get paid out in bnb or whatever . all ryzen 3600s can get over 7000 randomx hashes easily. when you have learned on the starter rig THEN you can go nuts and spend a fortune. your gpu recommendation is off imo - rx580 much better. also rtx2080ti is a monster on certain algos it can mine more gram than an entire rig of rx580s

great question. If you hold all your mined coins until later in the year, your likelihood of ROI is much greater. Altcoins follow the Bitcoin top, so if you can hold until 2025 you are looking at serious gains.

Don't get Intel CPUS for mining. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, 7900X or 7950X are best right now. Also don't get the GPU. Get both an AMD 6800XT and a Nvidia RTX 3070 for most efficient mining across multiple algorithms.

These cards will only make you nine cents a day before electricity so the ROI is completely wrong. You would be in a negative mining with these cards. The only way you would be any profitable is if your electricity cost was factored into your rent.

As for me, if money was not my problem i would go for one, KS3 then x99 dual motherboards 20 sets with e5-2699v3 and bitmain S21 thats if, money was not the problem however, as for me, with all the knowledge on bitcoin mining, the space i have to expand for a firm, the free electricity, i have no enough money to buy reasonable equipment for a serious investment. so incase you wish to partner with me, Africa is the best place to mine from.....i love Uganda lol.....

What I like about you is this; you don't give off attention-whore, superficial, click-bait vibes...Too many of these blockchain crypto passive income "advisors" on TH-cam have certain trademark dishonest behaviors. They talk to us like we're dumb, and also speak too vaguely on what is admittedly a detail-specific instructional undertaking. I'm not in favor of going trigger-happy with accusing 90% of them as "scams". I think that accusation and term is over-used, particularly by normies who don't want to put in the work-research to learn blockchain, risk-management, etc. I can tell you are an honest guy because you don't have 1M subscribers from the herd. I can tell you are a truthful man of real fiber and sinew because you're acknowledging and talking about the details which other comparatively phony YT content-makers would've glossed over or not even bothered to mention. When a really underrated and insightful original channel has only a few thousand subscriptions, I generally trust them more than the larger entities. There's something I don't trust about a TH-cam content-creator w/ 1M followers who is promising the audience that setting up a Node, or a Mining-Rig is "oh so easy" and something like overcurrent protection of a circuit breaker is not even mentioned or elaborated upon. And that's the vast majority of these insufferably clone-like pricks. But you, sir. I really admire your channel. Take the Hobbyist Miner channel and Your Friend Andy channels for example. Sure, admittedly, I can filter some of the occasional good information they impart, but they're basically flaunting their superior computer knowledge and easy passive income carefree lives, while often sugar-coating certain realities, omitting crucial details, speaking vaguely or in fake and naive false reassurance tone that is just incredibly annoying. I can't stand those two channels in particular, although I do try to absorb what good i can from them...
