completely wrong if you want a more reliable daily driver wrx sti then top 3 are:
1. IAG AOS
2. cylnder 4 cooling mod
3.oil cooler
2:35 after watchign dozens of different videos you are the ONLY person who has ever mentioned changing a seat lol
I would say as well a short shifter kit, completely changes the feel

My three mods are totally different from yours: catback exhaust (I never get tired of the rumble), suspension (there’s no snow on the coast of California), and 18x9.5 +38 wheels.

Just got a 2020 - had to have the ultra suede steering wheel, short shifter, and strut tower brace - 1 very happy customer.. maybe a tune and cat-back exhaust down the track
My 19 STI DD has an AWE catback, Killer B AOS and a VEMS cylinder 4 mod.

When I had my sti the DD mods for peace of mind: Cobb AP tune, Oil catch can and Oil pickup tube/baffle tray combo.

First three I ever did on my07 was sway bars, exhaust(tune) and springs. It felt completely different on my drives up the coast in Cali and canyons.
I would say an air oil separator (,especially for EJ), catback exhaust, better pads and rotors.

I’m also not in agreement here. Hi flow filter, after maf pipe, axle back, short throw if you don’t have one, window tint, shift knob, rear swaybar upgrade. No tune required, my muffler delete axle back is the perfect sound level, I was concerned it would be obnoxious but it’s absolutely perfect with zero drone or headache over long periods driving and you get to experience the boxer sound. can get them with mufflers if you desire for an even more subdued sound. You gain a surprising amount of power for 120$ with the after maf and panel filter. It’s dyno proven and makes the car run much better/smoother by giving it the air it really wants. Short throw and shift knob, pretty self explanatory. Not much else you can do that will change your driving experience more than a shorter shifter. Window tint, doesn’t have to be 5%. 35% makes a huge difference in the cars look and interior temp/wear/comfort. Rear sway bar, huge impact on turn in even if you’re just doing twisty roads. zero increase in harshness like springs or coil overs, really kills the understeer makes the car feel more “point and shoot”. I don’t get the “get a tune for reliability” suggestion. No matter what tuner you use anything short of a Vermont sports car engineer isn’t going to be better than the millions of dollars and tens of thousands of hours Subaru has put into getting the EJ engine right. Follow the proper maintenance schedule while erring on the side of caution and it’s going to last a long long time. Everything I mentioned is going to give you the best increase in experience vs the $ amount you spend. All this can be had for very very near to the price of that seat alone. Argue with me, call me names, I don’t care. Just learn from my mistakes. I have purchased every generation of Wrx from 2002 until now brand new. I’ve tinkered, I’ve tested, I went from Wrx to the first gen of sti in the US and then upgraded through every generation of sti until my last new purchase in 2019 of an sti limited. Every car racked up more than 65,000k give or take and I’ve tried every stage package from every manufacturer there is. I’ve wasted probably 100k$ on mods only to come to the same conclusion: 1000$ in these small additions and a couple weekends at a performance driving school will give you more return in fun for your money than the most insane SEMA build Subaru you’ve ever seen.

Allows the car to breath better and car feels more linear and smoother. Stock mapping is extremely jerky and numbers are all over the place. Getting a proper tune will give you more consistent numbers (afr, boost, etc) therefore resulting in a much more reliable motor.
A proper intake that will help reduce IAT’s, better cooling, AOS, cyl4 cooling mod, and proper maintenance.
Scoobyfreak86 ~ Makes sense. I had a focus ST and that was the first thing I did, improve the cooling and airflow with a tune and it definitely made a smoother more reliable motor. ~ As for the tune, did you go Access Port w/custom tune or pro tune or like a stage 1 off the shelf map?

Those seats should’ve come standard on the car. Even Nissan Sentras have a Recaro option. Subaru needs to step up their game.

Opinions on voiding engine warranty with tune? Worth it?
Yes worth it. As long as you do a reputable tune, you can also flash back if needed to go in for warranty work. Also, find a mod friendly dealer.

Still have my stock seat. People say that because they don’t try out different seats to see what fits them the best. When you find the right seat that fits your body type, it’s a whole other world.
