I’ve owned the 245 Music for three months. I appreciate having music onboard and not having to carry my phone on a race. All features are good, customizing watch face through Garmin IQ is easy. The only complaint I have is the battery life drains about 25% after a one hour run listening to music, using gps and an attached Stryd footpod. But charging to full takes about an hour. Overall, I recommend it.

I got the Garmin Forerunner 955 about 2.5 weeks ago and I am loving it so far. I tried on the 255 at the same time and it was much thinner and lighter than the 955 so I was almost swayed to get that one but I ended up getting the 955 because of the maps.

Agree 255 is a fantastic watch - worth it for the huge GPS improvement over likes of Fenix 6 etc alone. I ended up going for the 955 as I wanted all the extra training stats it includes plus Maps, Touchscreen and Solar.

I got the Garmin 245 Music and was blown away by the features. I had been using Samsung smartwatches for running and had no idea what I was missing switching to a dedicated Garmin running watch. I think I was intimidated by the price, but got a good deal on eBay

Forerunner 55 is probably my best watch this year because it's just does same thing like the 255 but it cost ~ 110pounds. You have 2 GPS feature as well, you can connect all devices to it (hr monitor, powermeter, pod), you can configure it with more than plenty of data for your training (2 connect iq data sets), you have the track run workout for improved gps on track, and you have all the Garmin software benefits (even the recommended daily workout). Really best budget watch on the market! (Coros 2 Pace being the 2nd place, even if it's a little more expensive it has a larger battery and some nice feature like triathlon, etc)
Agree the FR55 is the best budget watch for runners, but its features, sensors, and GPS could be comparable to the FR245, surely not to the FR255.
It definitely doesn't do the same thing. You lose all the advanced metrics - advanced training, sleep, SPO2. You lose breadcrumb navigation, race widget, the larger screen, morning reports, Altimeter, Barameter, Compass....

I have the 245 music. Can’t fault it. Has more than I need on it and I honestly can’t tell you anything I don’t like about it apart from the clasp causes me a bit of a rash but that’s my issue.

Had the 235 ,but too screen size too big for small wrists, switched to Garmin sq ,better fit but more importantly it does the running data that I use, think if I had never with more data I would most likely not use it .Wish Garmin did smaller screen sizes for runners with smaller writs .

Well if you need barometric altimeter and triathlon functions, plus cadence, speed and power sensor compatibility when driving bike plus open water swimming you could benefit from upgrading to 255😊

Hi! I bought a Forerunner 255 S Music and I noticed something: the pedometer works a lot even if I'm stationary but moving in the car! Does someone had the same problem?
I’ve had the 645 music for the past 2 1/2 years, which I love, just bought the Fenix 6 pro from Argos, they’ve dropped the price on these to practically the same price as the 255. No brainer in my opinion 👍🏻
Why put Fenix 6 over the FR255?

I do like my 245 but I can't see the screen properly sometimes when I run as my eyesight has got worse with age. Does the 255 have bigger numbers?
how many millimeters is your wrist? i am hesitating between 41 and 46mm. my wrist is 178mm
Hi..is the triathalon mode specific for swim/bike/run activities? Is it the same as the multisport mode? Are we able to edit the triathalon mode to run/bike/run for example? Tia.
I've almost bought the FR55 as my first GPS Watch, but sadly it didnt have Rowing Mode. So now I think the FR255 will be the one.

I’m only on a 235 but desperate to get all the running data like vertical oscillation , stride balance etc so think may go 245 now cheaper because of 255 coming out.

so the 955 and 255 seem very similar to me, except the 955 has a map and touch screen. I don't think I will need the map. but I wish I had a touch screen. so my question is: do i really need a touch screen? will i miss it if i go on 255?
