Super easy to follow - and not much has changed since 2012! Learning Photoshop with Marty's tutorials has been a great way to pass the time during the pandemic.
This is great. Not many photoshop tutorials tell you exactly how to do the shit you wanna do, but this tutorial is super clear. Other tutorials either have 10 mins of talking and not get to the point, or they do it so fast to the point where I switch to my Photoshop window for a sec and then switch back to youtube and the asshat has completed the task that he was supposed to teach. Thanks.
Here in 2021 - this is still the best shadow tutorial 9 years later! Your voice is so soothing, it sounds like the bloke in the Sunscreen Song! Thank you all these years later, I hope you're doing well :)
Thank you so much for your tutorials. You explain them in such a clear and uncomplicated way without going into too much "nice-to-know" as opposed to "need-to-know" information. Once I learn how you do it I pick up on the more complicated aspects myself. It's not boring and it inspires me to continue learning. THANK YOU!!!
this is the first video in my life, which is simple, essential, and clear. Without prolixity and narcissist thing... only the way Bravo, and thanks for it!
this is genius! thank you so much, you explained it so well and so clear! plus your voice sounds really friendly. one of the best tutorials I have seen. thank you!
GREAT TUTORIAL! sorry cant hold my excitement after frustrated with other rambling tutorials... all other tutorial videos should do this, easy and simple...
u can use selection tool to create the shape first, and then start brushing and adjusting the opacity too. there's a lot of way to create this shadow effects
at 3:48 applying gaussian blur to top half is overriding the previous blur value...how can I fix this? that diminishing blur at the end is not working in my case
Ahhhhh for some reason when I hold control it only adjusts it horizontally but it wont allow for vertical movement. I hate when they make weird changes like this, its frustrating. (you have to hold control AND shift while using free transform now)
Thanks for the tip! I'm designing a site for an author and needed to create a reusable template area for her book covers. This is going to work really well to add some depth to it.
Thank you so much for this video it helped me out a lot. I am mostly self taught but I could always use a little help at times and you really came through for me.
Excellent tutorial! Super clear, simple and straight to the point. I needed to ad a shadow into an image today and this totally nailed it. Thanks so much!

This is the best tutorial I've been to for Photoshop, so many videos make assumptions or skip parts, this was excellent.

LemonTProductions...YT no longer has a Partner template. Google Adsense places ads near the beginning of tuts which generate $ for partners.

Could not use the gradient tool because the smart object is not directly editable. Do u know what thatmeans????
rasterise the object
at 3:48 applying gaussian blur to top half is overriding the previous blur value...how can I fix this? that diminishing blur at the end is not working in my case
Make sure the feather radius of the top half isn't so large.
Never thought about using the puppet tool, thanks!
dude u explained it way better than lynda to be honest , keep the good work
Ahhhhh for some reason when I hold control it only adjusts it horizontally but it wont allow for vertical movement. I hate when they make weird changes like this, its frustrating.
(you have to hold control AND shift while using free transform now)
Short and sweet. Perfect video!
Truly awesome, Marty! Liked and subscribed.
Super Easy and professional
sorry, i don't get it at 3:26 .
What is the purpose of using Rect. Marquee Tool to select partial part of can and adjust Feather to 100 point?
The feathered selection creates a soft, gradual blur once its blurred using Gaussian Blur.
Even though photoshop changed alot I actually made a shadow tysm!
Thank you for this awesome tutorial !
wow the best tutorial about Photoshop EVER
Thanks for the tip! I'm designing a site for an author and needed to create a reusable template area for her book covers. This is going to work really well to add some depth to it.

I Have a question!! i can’t use the gradient tool it says “the smart object is not directly editable”
That's correct. None of the layers in this video are smart objects.
@@BLTV_Photoshop so we can’t use it on smart objects? and if so then how to fix it?
Thank you so much for this video it helped me out a lot. I am mostly self taught but I could always use a little help at times and you really came through for me.
