To be fair, a vampire with necromage from the restoration tree and the atronach perk from alteration would be able to get 100% spell absorption (65% from atronach stone and 35% from perk stacks) though if you want to play a mortal character you can just use the robes to cover the 20%

The one thing I think you were missing in this build is Conjuration but with an emphasis on atronachs and familiars rather than undead. Almost every Dragon Priest you fight summons a flame or frost atronach to fight alongside it, and with the Dragon Priest’s obsession with not just dragons, but attaining overall power, the ability to summon creatures to fight at your will seems incredibly tempting

I did this build and it was a lot of fun, I did change the backstory and spells a bit though.
    Warning long story ahead.
My dragon Priest is actually a Dragon Priest. He was a servant of Dragons till their cruelty got to him. Nonetheless he was no fool and choose not to fight them, then one day during the Dragon War he saw an opportunity to kill a vicious dragon. The Dragon was fighting some of the old heroes and was distracted, taking up his sword he plunged it into the beast heart. Suddenly the dragons soul shot into his body and he felt more awake and alive then ever in his past. The DragonBorn was awake, he knew thanks to stories of Miraak what this meant, so he joined the fighting to slay more dragons. Eventually the war was won and the warriors went their own ways, but the Dragon Priest realized that he was not aging. By taking the Dragons soul he had become an immortal like them, and so he lived for thousands of years under assumed names and professions. Slowly losing his mind and spirit to the constant boredom of living, one day he leaves for Skyrim on a whim. Hes not sure why he wants to go to Skyrim but something feels like its calling him. Leaving behind all his possessions again he embarks, once past the border he is arrested and taken for execution. When Alduin appears he realizes why hes here, the return of the Dragons and him as DragonBorn. As the Priest sets off into Skyrim he knows what he must do, destroy the remains of the Dragon Cult.
The Dragon Priest I made uses lighting spells because he hates using fire and ice like the dragons. He saw to many slaves/servants burned or frozen while serving them, instead he favors the quick speed and power of lighting. At first his skills are weak because of the hundreds of years he has not practiced, as such his blade and magic skills have atrophied. However in order to win the game, and defeat Alduin he starts an immediate exercise plan of dungeon clearing and dragon slaying. I also used a Blades sword, which I role-played as a gift from the Akavir themselves, it only requires one point in smithing to max. The Dragon Priest is several thousand years old and looking for a meaning in his endless life. He realizes that he must win against Alduin if the world is to be saved, which also awakens a new love of life in him. He is a smart knowledgeable man, who cares about the everyday civilian. As such he will use his immortality to aid them, be sure to grab every book you find, it helps pass the time when your immortal. Find every shout and kill every dragon/Priest you find. Keep their masks and remains to prove your superiority over them.
That's pretty much it I borrowed heavily from the movie Highlander, as I liked the immortal swordsmen story. Also I found it annoying that the Dragonborn is considered a mortal, while dragons are immortal. So I wanted a character more equal to them. He is also mankind's last hope of freedom from Dragons, because everyone knows what happens if Alduin wins. Plus his lack of passion for life and training is a great way to explain his weaker stats at the beginning. For more role-play I used the Werewolf exploit to reduce shout times to zero, which made me feel more like a true Dragonborn. Hope you liked that story and have a great day, and maybe try this for yourself, as being an ancient warrior makes for a really cool role-play. Did you make it this far? hahaha!

Lore does NOT equal to what you experience in the game.
In the Lore, the Fus-Ro-Dah is able to completely destroy the walls of a castle.
In the Lore, Skyrim is about as big as Canada, and it would take DAYS of continuous walking just to get into from the edges to Whiterun.

It's a dragon priest mask, you should be able to wear the Aetherial crown with it because it's a circlet. Select the Atronach stone and a skill stone early game (yes just rush for the crown as soon as possible) then later on switch to something you feel enhances combat abilities in your ideals. Also, Nahkriin is probably a way better choice for mask as it grants nice augments to your magic potential.

Great mod for this build is Konahrik's Accoutrements, it adds Miraak-style robes for all Dragon Priest masks, as well as letting you craft your own, and gives you the option to make them armored, as well as crafting your own. Great choice for someone who maybe doesn't want to fully commit to alteration skill tree.

With the recent release of Anniversary Edition on the Switch, I’ve been playing with a handful of ideas. A pure mage. A huntsman who avoids the cities.
I began thinking of a way to play a character I’ve wanted to for a long time, an Ancient Nord (either one who honors the old ways, or like the Cryomancer, is actually from an ancient time, having been frozen or transported to the 4th Era). I’m going for a Dragon Priest, but mixing this with the Sorcerer (Full Heavy Armor and Magic, but in Dragon and Konahrik). I’ll be working out the kinks later, but I’m listening to these builds for ideas!

Honestly, I'd make ONE tiny change to this build - I'd put Dragonbone gauntlets and boots on the Dragon Priest. It not only fits in a roleplaying sense, but offers more armour rating and can be made Legendary too.

The build looks very fun and aesthetically pleasing. The roleplay segment was REALLY good, you guys' narrative skills got cranked up to eleven. Such poetic and articulate descriptions without sounding too hammy or melodramatic, you kept a balance that many writers struggle to keep. The only real criticism I have is that despite all the build-up, the Dragon Priest sounds a bit like a self-absorbed and egotistic Dragon wannabe, as opposed to someone who sees a higher purpose in this journey, and thinks that assimilating things from Dragons and their cultists are but necessary stepping stones in coming to his full potential and becoming a benign draconic entity, as opposed to all the ones before him (save maybe for Akatosh himself).

"They say the horn calls them. Those with no sympathy. Those that only know death. They ride into the villages in the night, of those that fly the Imperial banner."
    Backstory:
As the Civil War intensified, Ulfric Stormcloak had decided that he needed to not only defeat the empire, but morally crush the opposition with fear and terror to discourage any more Imperial activity within Skyrim. This lead to his creation of a task force, who's sole purpose is to strike fear and terror within any and all Imperial sympathizers, while at the same time, a force who can effectively Raid the province for supplies for the Stormcloak cause.
The man who had become the leading individual of the task force was forever burned into the dark days of Skyrim's history.
The Raiding Scourge was born in the North on a farm near Windhelm in the harsh, unforgiving lands of Skyrim, and as he grew up, he came to witness the rise of Ulfric and had grown to be a proud son of Skyrim. He was raised by his mother and father and was taught how to fight at a young age. Both his parents were veterans of the Great War and have seen death a thousand times. His Nordic heritage teaches him that death in battle was the greatest glory any true nord can achieve. These things coupled together with his young and ripe age, came together to form an individual who's sole purpose in life was to fight for the Stormcloak cause and bring honor to his mother and father.
When the boy was old enough, he had finally decided to ask his parents a difficult question. He finally asked them the permission to join the Stormcloak army. Expecting a proud pair of parents, the boy was shocked to hear them adamantly refuse him permission to join the army.
The boy cried "I thought you would be HAPPY. It is our way! To seek battle and to bring glory to our name. Have these faithless dogs turned you both soft like the dirt they are?"
The father was enraged at the disrespect of the boy and quickly punched him in the stomach. As the boy lay there clutching his stomach, the father, sternly but with rising anger exclaimed,
''The things we have witnessed boy, it is NOT to be played with. The true horrors of war are something you cannot fully grasp until you have gone through it yourself. I am NOT letting my only son go off into battle, only to be slain as quickly as I say goodbye to him."
Enraged and frustrated, the young boy sullenly walked to the Candle Hearth Hall and vented to his companions. Over many pints of mead, the drunken group of younguns convinced the boy that as frustrated as he is, his mother and father are only watching out for him as they care about him.
Filled with regret at lashing out at his only loving father, the boy walked back home and decided he shall apologize. Though as he came home to the farm, the only thing he found was a slaughter of his family and the farmhands. The crops burned and soaked with blood while his father lays next to his disemboweled mother. A woman lamenting the murder of her child as she slits her wrists from her despair. A man cries as he watches the life from his son's eyes drained before him.
The boy walked towards his father and sees he is struggling. In his father's hand he grips the battleaxe that he used in the Great War, bloodied, sharp and calling to him. The father hands him the axe and whispers "Sovengarde." With his finally breathe he leaves the boy, alone and broken on the floor.
At that moment the boy hears a crash, and a struggled breathe. As he looked into the darkness, he can see a figure moving. Grabbing a nearby torch, he shines light towards the figure. In the darkness lay three maimed and badly wounded Imperial scouts. He approaches them, shocked and numb. The imperial scout pleaded to the boy to help him. The boy was silent.
Finally after a while the boy says in a low voice, "That is my father, next to my mother. Lifeless."
The Imperials were silent. Without any more words exchanged, they knew their fate.
The boy viciously hacked at the imperials in a drunken and blind rage. When he felt it was enough, he impaled their bloodied bodies on wooden stakes and burnt them to a crisp. As the alarm bell rings in the distance and the guards are dispatched to assess what had happened, the Boy knew what he was destined to do.
Years passed, and the boy had become a renowned fighter within the Stormcloak army. His blind hate for Imperials and their supporters sets him apart from his shield brothers, whom they all respect as a courageous warrior who gives no quarter to any Imperial they come across.
The young boy, now a grown man, has impressed Ulfric himself, and thus Ulfric sent out an envoy to invite this man to his hall.
As the Boy kneels before Ulfric Stormcloak, the Jarl who sits on his throne, he address the Boy and says, "I think I have a job for you, my kinsman."
In the following years, the Boy had committed acts of savagery upon the countryside and tales of his brutal treatment to his victims reach many ears, and many have come to fear the sound of a horn in the distance.
They say the horn calls them. Those with no sympathy. Those that only know death. They ride into the villages in the night, of those that fly the Imperial banner. They kill and maim and slaughter and leave none and take what they want and leave. Those who survive say they were like bears who descended upon them with bloodlust in their eyes. They leave the bodies of their burnt victims impaled upon stakes to send a clear message as to what is to come, should you side with the Imperials.
They only know him as "The Scourge."
    Gameplay/Playstyle:
The Raiding Scourge commands his own group of vicious and savage warriors whose sole aim is to Raid the countryside and strike terror within the hearts of Imperials and sympathizers alike. They ride horses as a group and scout potential forts and villages as targets. Often, they will set up a small encampment quite close to their intended targets and pinpoint where the guards would sleep. Then, in the late night, when many of the guards are sleeping, they take them by surprise, first killing all the guardsmen before they can mount a successful counter attack, and the raiding party will go on to take anything of value within the village, before rounding up survivors and butchering them while riding back to their camp to pack up and ride away.
They are brutal and unforgiving and will fight to the last man.
    Skills:
I play as a classic barbarian, maxing out only two-handed and lightarmor, and heavily maxing out health to stay in battle as long as possible.
    Twohanded
    Lightarmor
    Block
Standing Stone: Any you prefer, Warrior Stone to level Two Handed then Thief Stone to Level Lightarmor.
    Gear:
*I would recommend outfitting your whole Battalion of Raiders with the same equipment to get the full experience of a band of Raiders.
    Stormcloak Officer Armor Full Set.
    Black Facemask
    Black Cloak
    Twohanded Battleaxe/Waraxe for onehanded users

So I decided to make a new build recently, and I feel that it's worth mentioning.
"The Savage Warlock" (somewhat of a temporary name, open for discussion, also, I used mods to make it a lot more interesting, but it's not required)
I essentially wanted an Altmer character who's a bit less... civilized, than most others, he uses magic, still, but the main focus is on melee carried out with a bound battleaxe and high-level flesh spells, but when he needs to, he can resurrect his foes or fire spells from a distance (modded ones, for the most part), he uses the Soul Tear shout, primarily, but there are others that would work just as well (marked for death, drain vitality, and aura whisper would fit the theme quite well).
His skills are Enchanting (go straight down the middle, take nothing else), Smithing (go up to Orcish Smithing, also get Arcane Blacksmith), Conjuration (take everything except for the atronach perks), Alteration (take everything except mage armor), Destruction (this is a bit iffy, I went with modded spells, so I didn't do any speccing into fire/frost/shock or runes, if you must use vanilla spells, go with either frost or shock), Heavy Armor (take the first perk up until rank 5), and Block (take the first perk up to rank 5, quick reflexes, and the entire right side of the tree).
His gear is heavily enchanted Orcish Gauntlets and Boots, Ragged Trousers ( or Ragged Robes, also VERY enchanted), and an Orcish Helm, alternatively, you could go full clothing instead, with Ragged Trousers, Thalmor Gloves (A mod that adds arm bandages or something would work really well, too), Ragged Boots, and a Mage Hood (all highly enchanted) this allows for use of Mage Armor, and makes it so you end up not spending perks in Heavy Armor).
Backstory (really big wall of text ahead, spent 1 1/2 hours typing it and checking for inconsistencies in the lore).
The Savage Warlock was an orphan who grew up in a slum within Firsthold, constantly surrounded by scornful noblemen and elitist wizards, of course, being an Altmer, he also had a lot of magical talent, but no money to learn it, the man instead spent a lot of time training his body, getting into fights with other slum-dwellers, and stealing what he could by ambushing unprepared individuals. One day, a young and seemingly naive wizard ended up lost in the Warlock's territory, unknowing of what danger lurked within; suddenly, he was beset by a group of hooligans, led by our now still young (late teens-ish, still at an impressionable age, essentially), but incredibly ripped and well-build Altmer hero

Hey man so I've made a build myself with a full fledged back story and I was wondering if you could take a look and potentially make a video about it if you like it
    Dragon Slayer Back Story
He was larger than most men. His additional size and strength allowed him to have an edge over most men, he favored the sward as his weapon of choice and due to his large size he could use both types with ease altho he was born a high elf he worshiped talos and was a warrior for the storm-clock army and was almost praised by his superiors for his amazing strength and courage. On one faithful day like a deafening thunder he heard a roar in the distance. Suddenly he saw it, a black monsteras creature with wings that spoke fire came over the tree line. His camp was burnt to the ground altho his best efforts to try stop it he was forced to watch as his comrades fell all around him. Left for dead in the smoldering remains of his camp. A few moments later an imperial detachment came by not believing their luck took them all into custody. He grew a great hate for both the dragons and the imperials that day vowing to sleigh every dragon if he had to. After the events of helgan he is overjoyed at discovering he is dragon born pledging himself to the blades and companions hem will also come to take part in the civil war for the storm clocks. He would then go to improve his thum to try combat the dragon menace

    • @alexanderblackie6704

I would really appreciate it if you did and your welcome to change anything if you like but I imagined him with a two handed dragon bone sward with full dragon bone armor using shouts as often as possible and wearing the amulet of talos to give faster shout regain and he would kill all the dragon priests and mirak

With current mods like Konahrik's accoutrements and Konahrik's privilege available you should revisit this build imo. It's one of the most unique builds if you utilize Konahrik's mask imo.
If you invest in smithing/enchanting/alteration and pick the Lord stone you can cap most of your resistances making it to where you have a high chance of the mask healing you in battle which not only makes it unique but loads of fun.

Mr. Soup Next playthrough I'm going to install the become high king mod and make the Telvani Wizard in Solsteim the Jarl of Windhelm. That should shake things up over there.

I made something similar to this build. Since I do not like using robes, I went with full heavy armor. I don’t use flesh spells as much, but fire spells are my main damage dealers, as well as a sword. If you get the Creation Club DLC that gives you a ton of spells, the Elemental group of destruction spells really add to the character, in my opinion.

I actually made this character, changed it to my liking of course but I based it off of this and lemme tell you. I've replayed Skyrim 50+ times it feels like and other than my very first character, this seems like my favorite. It is also kinda lore friendly I feel like, because he was raised as a good person but is crazy it seems like, it's just awesome.

I love these builds! Idk if anyone else would like this, but I think it would be awesome if you to talk about marriage options/children options and houses (unless of course the build wouldn't have any of these)

If you want to mod this build, use Konahriks accoutraments, it adds versions of every dragon priests robes + all the way up to a heavy arnored versions of then that look like a more covering version of actual dragon priest probes - including Konahriik's own robe

Did a Dragon Priest build myself finally and went on a tear with this set-up:
    Konahrik
    Miraak's Robes
    Dragonplate Gauntlets
    Dragonplate Boots
    Ancient Nord Amulet
    Gold Diamond Ring
