They were built by skilled, learned, hard working and not the least paid workers. Workers there were provided housing, food and drink and an above average payment. Though you probably were more likely to die on construction of the pyramids than on „regular” construction sites.

This is actually likely to be untrue. The idea of pirates wearing eyepatches is mainly based on an Arabic pirate called Rahman Al Jalhami, who wore an eyepatch after losing his eye. Though it's somewhat plausible that pirates used eyepatches to adapt to darkness, at least in terms of practicality and effectiveness, there's no evidence that they actually did this historically.

you do know that the function of an eye patch is for when a pirate goes below deck after being in the sunlight, that they can just flip the eye patch to the other eye so they can see easier because the eye that had the eye patch on is already acustomed to the dark.

Pirates actually wore an eyepatch as a form of night vision. When raiding a boat, bellow deck was often dark, so when they went down, they would move the eyepatch to the opposite eye, and because that eye was adjusted to the dark, they would be able to fight regularly.

Fun facts pirates did not wear an eye patch because they missed an eye but when to go to a dark room they switch the patch and see better in the dark because the patch eye is used to darkness from the patch.
Pirates don't wear eyepatches because they lose an eye, that's stupid. Blackbeard the pirate invented it, with it covering one eye for the whole day, getting it used to the dark, and the switching the eye wearing the eyepatch at night, so that the one that got used to the dark has night vision. With this he and his crew could pull off heists and robberies with a big advantage.

Eyepatch wasnt always used foe losing an eye, sometimes they were used to go below deck and have one eye accustomed to darkness. That might be a myth though I've never seen evidence of it, but it makes sense to me.
