I would have to respectfully disagree. I was in high school when they originally came out. Most people made fun of people who wore them. I would compare them to the different levels of Mercedes Benz.. with the S-class being the traditional Jordan sneaker,and team Jordan being the C-class. basically so people who couldn’t afford the traditional or top-of-the-line, would not feel left out. And still have that status

Back in the day team js had material and tech that rivaled the main jordan that year and where cheaper and easier to cop. These days the retroed team js cut the tech and are made with cheaper materials they dont compare well with numbered retros anymore. Plus the players they are tied to like eddie Jones or vin baker are nobodies to kids these days it helped that they wore them while still playing in the nba too
Honestly, who cares, if anyone makes fun of you for wearing a certain shoe they're a loser. If a shoe looks cool it looks cool, who even cares about the brand anymore.
