In Norwegian this is called a *parfinlampe* but *parafin* is almost the same as *diesel*. But everybody knows that diesel stinks, so they called it Parafin, but the smell is the same. :)

Your wrong, that lever does control the amount of light. And ofcourse if adjusted too high you get smoke. 😂
