Bill Gates Private Island in AFRICA & A Spontaneous Life (Mnemba)

- I was on the Island of Zanzibar In Tanzania but would go out to the island of Mnemba, another 1 hour off the coast of Zanzibar. We would also snorkel in one of the best reefs on the island. It is located on the north east side of the island close to Kendwa and Nungwi. But also further down Kiwengwa and Paje. The east side of zanzibar does not have as blue water and there are much bigger waves. I liked Zanzibar a lot, it was similar to the caribbean water in Mexico and the places I had visited there such as Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum and Cozumel. Much less tourists here but the prices are almost cheaper in Mexico. I will be going to the Maldives after Zanzibar. That should be interesting!

William, I’ve been following you since you were moving up the coast in Mexico. I have not missed a single one of your videos. They’re always well done and to me they are relevant because they do show your daily life the people you meet and sometimes the fact that there’s not much to do. This video is particularly touching for me as I used to be a scuba diver. I learned in Thailand and then did diving many places in the world. So keep on making great videos. And I also like the various touches that you throw in. So, I for one am counting on you to go on ahead so I have to check in on you from time to time. Tusend tak as the say in that little country across the bridge from Sweden.
Hello Bill thanks for watching all the video I am thankful for that. That is awesome you did your scuba diving certificate in Thailand and then many more dives after that! I still dont have my certificate but I did a bull shark dive a few years ago in Fiji
@@williamtaudien I learned when I was 67 and did more than 200 dives. Deepest 30 meters but my preference is about 5 meters where I could say in with tanks for over an hour and just sit and watch the reefs life. You are right it is a spiritual experience, Best dive place over all was Pulau Weh, Sumatra the north western most point in Indonesia. Get your certificate and you will want to stay down for hours..
@@billhanson7944 Oh wow that is awesome. Yes I agree it is mesmerizing when you're under the surface. I saw some reefs in Indonesia a few years ago a similare name Pulau padar I think. Some island in the west part of Indonesia. I should get my certificate so I can do some dives. Maybe I will do it this year somewhere.
@@billhanson7944 Bill you are inspirational to have learned to dive at 67!! I always love when I hear stories like this! I learned to dive in my early 20's but placed it on the back-burner for many years to pursue other adventures. My dad got 100% score on his Private Pilot's test at age 70!! I was so surprised when I saw that! Really going after things we love and not allowing age or disability to stop us shows the TRUE human spirit... Thanks for sharing your story here along side William's videos. :)

I want to buy a little panga & see the elephants & orangutans! Scuba all in one amazing place! I discovered Weh island, on internet! I get sick on long flights,trying to see about a cargo ship🏖️

Loved seeing you dancing with the Masai.They look so full of joy! The underwater shots were nice and clear.Reef still rich with coral,sea life.Too many people at once for those dolphin.They wanted nothing to do with you all Don't blame them.Glad they are wild and can swim away! Too bad about weather on the boat trip but nature is in control.Kendwa sunset 🔥

William you are truly one of a kind person. I love your videos the beauty of this trip & how clear the underwater shots are amazing!!! We still have snow here in Canada but spring on the way. You can buy seasick patchs at pharmacy for your next boat trip that looked really rough.

This video was terrific... We must accept the good mixed with the not-so-good... "SEA SICK" , Yeah, I get that also. I found relief when I could jump in the water and dive or swim instead of bobbing up and down in a small boat. I really LOVE the BEAUTIFUL colors of the ocean and sky where you stayed.. sunsets were so tranquil... THANK YOU!!!
