  • In this video it’s just a quick explanation of how I am able to use a 61x exhaust manifold on a 62t without drilling it. In the previous video I show and explained how to open the ports to match. So this one I explain on the inserts I used. People always use helicoils which is perfectly fine but I like this method. It allows you to not drill the manifold and still use the m8 bolts.
    In the video I constantly say 12mm but that’s wrong. Yamaha 701 61x uses (m8 x 1.25) and a Yamaha 701 62t uses (m10 x 1.25)
    Parts used:
    10Pcs Insert Nut, M8 x 1.25 - M10 x 1.25

Im can't wait to see this motor come together, brother. Id be scared drilling out that manifold too. I think you're right. Not enough meet around it. Case sealant would help on those inserts. Possibly. An extra "layer" of precaution. Going to look nice when all done. Cheers

I actually added some old (like 60 years) anti seize, back when it was actually good, to the threads of the inserts. Because all I could think about was dissimilar metals (stainless steel and aluminum) getting corroded and getting stuck. So I agree on the extra layer of precaution!

You didnt want Stainless Steel? I'm currently about to do this exact same too using a Factory Pipe 61x manifold on a 62T cylinder...

I wanted stainless so that it wouldn’t rust. Trying to find the two thread pitches though we’re hard to find.
