    Wow - what a difference the soft pink colour made to your skin! I found your videos last night & I've been binge-watching - great stuff!

    When you wear white I can really see your warm skin tone, this is also a good way to tell, testing white vs. off-white. When I had my color analysis, the lady doing it struggled with me a bit, because I’m only a little cooler than neutral, and very muted. Then, when she put an aqua (pale greenish-blue) drape on me, everyone said “wow”, it made my skin look like I had professional foundation, concealer, blush and powder on my bare skin. That was the clincher! I do like cool, soft colors best, but can wear a range of slightly warmer colors, if they’re not too bright or dark.

    This is the first time I’ve actually seen the difference between the cool and warm. I’ve watched a ton of these videos and usually I cannot see any change whatsoever. Well done Maria.

    Another trick I use when wearing my non-ideal colors near my face is to put a bright white collared shirt under it. For example, I love leopard, and I just got a beautiful cashmere pullover in the golden brown version of that print, but I’m wearing it today with my Eileen Fisher white cotton-knit button front collared shirt under it, it really helps my cool-toned skin look better in those warm colors. I also have a couple of white linen button front shirts in linen, one sleeveless, to do the same trick in warmer weather.

    Thank you for addressing this! I have medium to low personal contrast and warm skin. My hair is getting lighter now, and I feel the need to wear some softer colors, but cool colors don’t suit me. I’m wondering which pink I might possibly be able to wear, if any.

      A peach pink would work 👍

    Great video Maria - I’d love it if you could guide us on how to adapt the colours you wear as you embrace grey hair (which I love) when you are a warm skin tone. My previously dyed warm toned hair is just about gone and I am definitely ashy with a silver steak at the front and almost charcoal underneath at the back, being a deep warm toned brunette when I was young. My warm toned wardrobe and autumn colours are not so right any more. How to make the most of hazel eyes, warm skin and grey hair? Stay safe and well. 😘

      Hi Lesley, Thank you for this question. It takes a bit of adjustment to your colour palette but you still wouldn't want to put any cool colours in. I have written a post in Stylish@50 this week which gives ideas for all skin tones embracing grey - as we may not be able to get colour done for some time :) Thank you stay safe and well too xx

    Hi Maria, very helpful video, as usual. Choosing pinks is a great way of finding out if you've got a warm or a cool undertone. It's true that the shocking pink didn't look as good on you as the softer, warmer pink did, and I kept looking at the swatch and not your face!
    You also mentioned M&S and t-shirts, so I'm off to their site to see if they've got anything colourful in at the moment...

      Thank you Georgina, that's a good test, if the colour distracts you it's probably not your best choice :)

    I like this approach. I’ve been assessed as a soft summer and yet I have charcoal black eyebrows and lashes. I’ve never understood then why the analysts tell me I can’t wear”any” black, when it’s already on my face? Your approach seems much more balanced and not so contradictory. I’ve seen people get almost cultish about their colours. In the end they give it up completely.

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Inga, I agree about the almost cultish :) I have had clients tell me they are not "allowed" to wear black - says who! It's their body after all. I am going to do a video on wearing black soon which might help you too :)

      That's not true if you have dark features like dark eyes and hair, you NEED darker colors up against your face because dark colors match your features. You should wear clothes that imitate your features.

      You need deeper and, richer colors. Your colors can be medium to deep or dark color, but the color needs to be richer. For instance, if you're warm, you need colors like mustard or Dijon yellow, for reds, go for a wine, or beet red. If you're cool, you need colors like: navy, maroon, cool yellows, and blue tinged greens.

    So my veins are blue and my skin is very light but I have dark hair and eyes so I'm confused 😕

      It sounds like you might have a bit of contrast. Without seeing you I couldn’t say accurately but you could have a cool skin tone 🤔

    What colours work with silver/grey hair, medium to dark brown eyes? I checked my wrist veins and they appear blue. I had my colours analysed around 15 years ago when I had dark brown hair and was categorised as a Deep Autumn. Some of those colours from that palette no longer work for me. I am seriously considering doing your Online Colour Analysis. I tend to shop for lots of clothes, but quite often buy the wrong colour.:( Love your videos! :D

      Thank you Jenny. If you were a deep autumn the chances are that grey hair may have softened your look. It’s unlikely that if you have a warm skin tone which an autumn does, that you would move to the Cool dominant with grey hair which is what often confuses people and causes people to be Mia analysed. I hope that helps 😀

    What happens if you have natural undertones!

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your question Rebecca. If you don't see yourself as a warm or cool undertone it may be that you are nearer to the centre of the scale. In which case you can choose colours that are from either side without going too far one way. So rather than choosing a hot pink (cool) or bright coral (warm) you might choose a more pastel pink or peach. I hope that makes sense :)

    A lot of women agonize over whether they have a warm or cool undertone, I think it’s much easier to decide whether warm or cool colors look best next to your skin.

      Is it putting warm or cool tones next to your skin how are you find your undertone? Sorry still learning
