    Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. I've struggled with this issue and you are the first person that has made sense for me. I've been trying to put a capsule wardrobe together and all the examples out there seems to be based all in blacks and greys. Which has made me hesitant because...I just don't look good in black, lol! Now I understand that's ok and I have other options that I should pursue!

      Thank you 😊 a capsule wardrobe does need some neutrals in it but there are so many more options than black and grey 😀

    I just got my colors done with the four season analysis. I am a winter. It changed my world. Since wearing my colors, people have given me so many compliments. I don't believe that I could wear a pumpkin color shirt and look good. I feel a lot of freedom now. I want to look my best everyday. It's so easy to pass on the muted colors at the thrift stores with hesitation. I use less makeup because in the right colors my face looks healthy. Cheers!

    Thank you for the video. Do you have any examples of women of color and the tonal color analysis?

    A very very interesting vlog ! Hope this will help many !! I disagree & agree !! I disagree that we don't always have to be licensed to be colour analysts to know colours really well !! Lol. But,I see & understand your frustrations !! I loved you said reg.boxing vs being more flexible !! To be very good at anything...either sports, arts ,music ,dancing ,or playing with colours ,you've gotta be out of the box to think or do it well ,but with the basic knowledge/ educations !! ( you can't totally ignore ! ) Life ! Life is what that's all about ,too !! You can't put yourself in a box to see or think ,feel ! We all have to be flexible to be productive !!! And advanced & more creative !! I totally agree ! And I've always loved about the ways of English people & Italians think more flexible & creative ,liberal about stuff !!!
    You're right ! I am Japanese & dislike people telling me I can't wear cool tones ,or pinkish make ups ! Lol. I look at my best in Turquouse blues & that is my No.1 fave colours ,then reds ( I love reds now ,but hated reds all of my life ! Lol.) & long time favourite since like 5 ,purple !! I argued with a sales person at a cosmetic counter as they told me I should had bought beige tone make up ( foundation) ,not neutral with pink undertone !! Lol. Because I was/ am yellow !! 😆LOL Btw.,yellow is not such a complimentary way to express someone's skin !! Lol. Yes ,I am Japanese, but I am on a paler side as an Asian ,even as a Japanese ,used to be a lot paler when I was young ,I turned to be more neutral when I got into my 40's ,now I am almost 56 ( on 21st of this month ) ,but yet I am not medium tone at all ! Light medium & a bit pinkish & yellowish ! My veins get green & blue ,depends !! Lol. My mom tells me no wonder how much I love turquoise blue as I really do rock it !! Lol. My perfect colour on me !!! And yes ,that's unusual for Asians perhaps !! Your vlog got me motivated more to learn more about colours !! I am pretty good ,though ! And I always give real good advises on others reg.hairstyle,hair coulours & fashions & colours to wear !! My mom & sis.& friends always ask me for it ! But , educations never hurt really ...sometimes ,it depends on the teachers & systems ! We can self taught ,self educate ourselves as I often do !! But, if we've get a great teacher / coach ,or institutions/ schools ,that'll get merrier !! Lol. And I can tell you're the good one ! I loved this vlog !!! And thank you so much for this video !! Hoping many will watch !! Btw.,I know some get colour therapy /lessons multiple times !! That's a clear sign for the colour therapists not doing their jobs well ,or the people got no clues ,a bit dumb ...sorry ! But, it really shouldn't be that confusing !! It's complicated ,not so simple ,but not that that complicated for people to keep going back to see multiple colour cordinators/ therapists !! Lol. 👍👍🎨👘👗🧦🧥🛍👜👡👡💖💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶💕💞

    I believe I’m maybe a soft and warm. I know pastels colors make me look washed out. I have an olive complexion. Creamy whites look really good on me but not stark whites.

    Had my colours done a long time ago when the system was four seasons .
    I know what colours suit me so not had a colour consultant do them again .
    Before going grey I had honey blonde hair , had a lot of warm pigmentation.
    My skin is fair but warm under stones , wouldn’t say I have a lot of contrast .
    I wear bright and clear not soft colours .
    My most flattering colours are cobalt blue and white , which makes no sense .
    It’s interesting , thank you 😊

    Maria, Distinguishing between Warm and Muted vs Muted and Warm , based upon red tones in the hair is very helpful ! I have “ mousey brown/sand tones hair color “ with medium light skin and medium dark brown eyes with a clear warm sense, like your coloring, but a bit lighter . It has become clear to me that too dark , too bright, and too high contrast as well as too low contrast do not work for me ! I think that it’s as important to know what does not work for you as what does ! Personal coloring can be tricky to get right with what is the most flattering !

      Hi Sherry I am glad you found it helpful. Knowing what doesn't work makes it much easier to shop as you can discard a lot before you start honing in on what you want. :)

    I've always felt I can't wear red and have stuck by that rule but maybe I should consider some different shades of that color

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There will definitely be a red you can wear it depends on whether you have a warm or cool undertone and whether you look better in brighter or more muted shades. I do a virtual colour analysis if that would help 😊

    I have gray hair with naturally black eyebrows and dark brown eyes, rosy cheeks.
    I'm guessing my dominant is cool but unsure of my secondary trait.
    Could you please let me know?
    Thanks

  • @hevvybizzle5797
    @hevvybizzle5797 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! Love your videos. I just wanted to ask, I noticed that you go by hair colour as one of the dominant parts if your process, and wondered for your process in establishing skin undertones, do you consider only the natural hair colour?
    Also, I am interested in studying colour analysis and am more interested in the tonal approach. Can you tell me where you trained or a good place to look into training in the UK? Thank you!

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊 I use the combination of hair, skin tone and eyes. But hair colour can affect the dominant characteristic. Because it can change the balance because it might create more or less contrast. So when my hair was much darker My dominant was deep and when it is lighter I move to a soft dominant. I hope that makes sense. Re training I don’t really know any more. I trained with CMB but that was about 20 years ago and the company has changed hands since then so I can’t vouch for their training now and I have had quite a few clients come to me who have been Wrongly analysed by both CMB and House of colour consultants and so many websites giving wrong information. Since then I have adapted how I do colour with my own method. Maybe I should start running training courses 😀 sorry I can’t be more help 🙁

    Lots of Information! It would be great if you could show us examples on how to choose a colour. For example what kind of blue is best for bright and cool or warm and soft or cool and soft..... sorry if I do not explain it very well but English is not my native language.🙂

    Fascinating video but I’m still confused. I’m cool but I don’t know if I’m soft or bright although I assume I’m bright because jewel blues, greens and purples suit me. I agree there are problems with colour analysis. I’ve been told I’m winter with a secondary as autumn which all means nothing to me. I can wear black, navy And bright blues, greens and purples but some of the ‘traditional’ winter colours like red and white are all wrong for me. Pink used to suit me but now I have rosacea so I can’t wear it any more. I’ve never found a shade of white or cream that suits me and I’d love to be able to wear it but every time I try I have people asking me if I’m sick or telling me I look pale or sick. I’d love to know how I can successfully wear some pale colours. Just for reference, I am very pale with blue/grey eyes and (dyed) mousy brown/grey hair.

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Elly it's hard to make a definite analysis without seeing you. But, for me Winter with a secondary of Autumn makes no sense because a winter has a cool skin tone and an autumn has a warm skin tone, so it isn't surprising you are confused :) It sounds like you may have been either deep and cool before your hair went grey or bright and cool (more likely if you can wear jewel colours) and both can wear black. If your hair has gone grey it could move you into a Cool dominant. One way to tell if you are cool/soft or cool/bright is too put some bright colours under your chin and see if your eyes only see the colour rather than you. If your eyes focus on the colour it could be too bright. If you want to use my Colour Analysis service I can give you a definitive answer. You can use the code COLOUR to get 20% off the advertised price www.mariasadler.com/colour I hope that helps :)

    My favourite colours are pastels
    They do not suit me
    They wash me out
    I love love jacaranda purple but it makes the shadows on my face stand out
    Strong clear purple is my shade
    I love mint green
    Can’t wear it
    Clear bright greens are my shades and I hate them but I get compliments
