Treasure trove never seen a car unboxing. The mystery trim looks like rear quarter extension molding. That blue thing that you said looks like a high beam switch is what I've been looking for. I dont know the technical term but it mounts to the Manifold and lets the carb linkage down easy. Wanna sell it? The trim at 14:20 is for the fender. The spring in the rad hose is to keep it from collapsing. The bent bolt that you thought was a battry tie down is to hold the spare tire to the trunk deck.
Yeah, I'm happy to sell it if you need it. Find me on Facebook (my profile picture is the same) and PM me there. Thank you for all the great info, it's so cool to learn about all this stuff. I had no idea there were so many different trim pieces, but it makes sense when you picture how much chrome is on the car!
@@oldsmobobby410 I don't use facebook but I'll see if my daughter will contact you for the part. After looking at my '70 today it looks like the trim I thought was for the quarter extension is actually for the trunk lid, which is funny because that is what I originally thought but I'm sure it's easy to figure out when you hold it up. Kinda fun trying to solve the puzzle.
Dude thats the best score ever!!! I dont know what you paid but probably worth it...not many 1 year only 1970 442s out there . The flapper in manifold is tied to the early egr system the spring setup on the intake manifold would heat up and it would open the flapper...if I remember correctly there was a cover and lever on driver side intake for most cars back then
The ''Eyebrow'' mouldings go on the bottom edge of the deck lid above the tail lamps, I've seen them more on Cutlass Supremes. There is a longer one that goes between the two of them and then short ones that go on the quarters or quarter extensions on Supremes.
sorry commenting as watching while being up way to late.. the seat belt score is awesome my 70 has the shoulder strap tied up in the headliner area no retractables on the shoulder side mine was the same green interior, but since mine isnt numbers matching engine I am doing more of a street beast Grand Touring type so int is black now...well when it is actually installed it will be
