    Wow, your dog is so amazingly sweet! As a pro groomer, I have some comments, lol! But your interaction with your dog is so loving, you're doing great! My main comment is to work the coat with the clipper more systematically, meaning clipper a section in rows, brush/comb up, and then go over it again. It will make a huge difference, you'll see! And I do agree with the other comments about brushing out the matting, not cutting. But you're doing this at home! Without a whole proper professional setup! I say thumbs up for going for it!

      Thank you so much and I’ll try the recommendations. I’m not a professional at all lol! I just found with 7 I can’t afford a groomer and many of my puppies parents ask me to groom them and I can’t take on anymore so I refer to the video and tell them they can try it themselves as an amateur. I have the highest respect for groomers because it’s a very hard job.

    I just bought a clipper and guards. With us getting a second doodle, I wanted to start grooming myself and save some money. Can you do a video of maintaining your clippers and blades? I love your video! Gorgeous puppers!!

    I would really recommend using a slicker brush for slight matting, and a mat breaker for bad mats so you don’t have to shave it off

    groomer here! I would highly reccomend a slicker brush for the most of the brushing BEFORE you use a comb. A comb is for fine tuning where you need to go back with the slicker. youll pull the skin too much using only a comb

    Thank you SO MUCH!! I copied you and our Groodle Scout (Similar size to Evie but male) and he turned out even better than the grooms we've paid for. You're a legend!!

      Awe thank you so much! I’m not an expert by any means at all but I just find it’s possible to groom them yourselves and they may not look perfect but it’s helpful if you can’t find a good groomer or the cost is too high. I appreciate your kind compliment so much!

    Great job! I have a super Curley black f1b and I have to learn how to groom him! I paid 150 dollars last groom 😐 (he needs a shave about every 5 weeks)also your daughter reminds me of my 10 year old little girl!! I adore all that commentary she’s adding 😊 such a cutie!!

    Thank you very much for the grooming tips. We have a male that looks very much like your female doodle. He’s the sweetest guy. The past two times the groomer shaved him to the skin in his abdomen / groin area causing skin excoriation that is really bad. I’m planning to start grooming our two golden doodles myself. Thanks again for your informative video. Merry Christmas 🙂.

      Merry Christmas to you as well! Thank you so much for your kind words. I had bad experiences with groomers as well so started trying it on my own and found it’s not too hard but also never perfect lol! With 7 now to groom sometimes I wish I had a groomer 🤣🤣

    Also for the new bees if you put a comb underneath the scissor before you cut your finger so you make sure you don’t cut the dog on accident

    Do the trimmers get too hot ever? if so how can you tell when they're too hot and how long do you take a break for?

    • @CooleyDoodles
      @CooleyDoodles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine really don’t but I bought an expensive kind and I use the scissors a lot too on between.

    • @ronnimerwede3087
      @ronnimerwede3087 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes trimmers get hot. You have to buy a cooling spray. Its called Cool Care by Andis, among other brands, but I find this one to be the best!!

      It’s a wahl, km10 and the stainless steel guards are wahl too around 41 dollars on amazon.
      You can buy wahl guards individually on their website (I’ve been shopping for our doodles groom supplies but am not expert).

    does she shed hair? im convincing my dad to get a goldendoodle, but he doesn’t want a shedding dog

    • @huntersinclair961
      @huntersinclair961 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on the Goldendoodle, F1B Goldendoodles are least likely to shed and be hypoallergenic. My golden doodle sheds a little if I don't brush her

    • @eviem70
      @eviem70 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      None of my doodles shed but they can depending on how much of each breed they have in them.

    • @personanon2879
      @personanon2879 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes doodles shed. They ALL shed. The hair gets trapped in the coat and causes matting.
