    Tama yong explanation mo kabayan. Sa stock Ka magconcentrate, you know how to invest your money. You think only mortgage ang iisipin mong babayaran sa bahay, marami pa like gardener, swimming pool maintenance, house insurance, car insurance, property insurance and tax. Tapos mayroon Ka pang Anak na pinagaaral, ikaw pang magbabayad ng insurance nila at car pag wala pang trabaho. Utilities pa bayad sa koryente at tubig at trash. My son and his wife are both nurse pero walang ipon tama Lang sa lahat ng expenses but they invest in stock 401k max. Dito sa CA yong kita mo May tax tapos kong may bibilhin ka another tax. My son have two kids 16 and 12 years old. Isa pang bayarin internet. Pag private school ang bata middle school almost 10T a year sakit ng ulo.

      You can buy whatever you want but you have to work for it. Kabayan is right, pag nagasawa na yong mga anak nya matatali sya sa pagbabayad ng mortgage sa house like 30 years, work and work until you are old, no more fun. Pag still young yong mga anak it’s okey to buy a house because it is under your care. Sa age ni kabayan no need to buy a house. My son when he bought a house he was only 23 years old, mura pang starter house noon 3 bedrooms. Now almost a million yong new house nya. Your decision is right kabayan, when you retire back and forth sa Pinas and more fun like traveling walang iisipin na mortgage.

    Buying a house in America is not for everyone unless you are wealthy. A family who only has the minimum wage and has children has no way they can afford to purchase a house. Filipinos need to understand that.

    Everything you discussed regarding your life in the US , makes so much sense. I randomly just bumped into your channel… Life in 🇺🇸 is really lonely. But, after more than 30 years here , I learned the art of entertaining myself.As long as you have your family around, YOU ARE GOOD!!! It’s not HEALTHY to compare your life in the Philippines… that’s when you hit depression. Embrace what God is blessing you.. and Uncle Sam!!

    We took 13 years before i buy our first house, and glad i wait for the right time.. We get away with high taxes and lenders fee.. As of now my house mortgage is only $1k within 4 yrs since i was able to educate my self on how housing market work.. My advice to you is don’t rush and educate your self on housing market before you jump into real estate.. Either it will be a blessing or a curse if you don’t do research enough due to too many high fees associated with it..

    Kahit anong justification png sabihin, the best pa rin ang home ownership. In the long run, lahat ng hinulog mo makukuha mo at tataas pa equity ng bahay. Mataas qng tingin ng mga tao sa may bahay because it is a big achievement. Lalo n nga kung pinoy ka.

    Ang bahay ay dapat ari mo, hindi ang bahay ang may ari sa yo. Weakness ng kapwa Pilipino, malaki and magarang bahay. Ang masama, di na sila magkita kita mag ka pamilya, tapos 3-5 hours lang and pahinga. Sabi nga sa Bible, 8 hours for our vocation/work, 8 hours for recreation and 8 hours for rest and relaxation. Do what you have to do to secure your future. You do not have to keep up with the Joneses. Best of luck to you and your family

    Irritating talaga ung old mentality ng pinoy na owning a house is a mark of success, hindi naman karera ang buhay eh, it will eventually come. Syempre you prioritize to cope to live in the moment to survive, un ang importante then everything follows. Nakakarelate ako sa situation mo sir pero kme 3 years palang kme dito siyempre nagbabalak parin kme ng sariling house pero hindi kme nagmamadali. Ineenjoy pa namin buhay namin kse malaking commitment din ang house.
    And. Malungkot ang buhay dito sa US? Para sakin ay somewhat pero napaka minor lang, siguro para sakin dahil wala dito mga solid na mga tropa mo and mga close close na magpipinsan, parents ko malayo sakin, pero naisip ko nalang ung time ng nasa pinas pa ako, mas nakakalungkot isipin na hindi mag tatrive ung profession natin sa pinas and puro daydream nalang hindi natutupad.

    Marami ring may mental health issues sa Pinas, hindi lang nada-diagnose. Kulang sa psychiatrist sa Pinas at may stigma pa rin kaya ayaw magpatingin ng mga tao sa psychiatrist. Mahal magpa-psychiatrist sa Pinas kaya dinadaan na lang ng may mental issues sa inom o droga para maka cope up. HINDI PORKE'T NGUMINGITI O TUMATAWA AY MASAYA NA, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT-you are a nurse bro. Mas maraming problemado at depressed sa Pinas dahil kulang sa pera at pagkain, tinatago lang nila sa likod ng mga ngiti at tawa. Subukan mong tumira sa Pinas at doon magtrabaho, ewan ko lang kung hindi ka ma-depress pag ubos na pera mo. First world problems are different than 3rd world problems

      I lived there for 5 years after being in America for over 20 years. 2014-2019 i worked at call center, i was happy actually, simple living, mahirap lang mag maintain sa standard of living ko bec in America i had almost everything. But i realized in the Philippines you didn’t need to have everything to be happy. I came back to America in 2019 bec my kids were still small and at that time they were with their dad. Now that theyre almost grown up i bought 2 condos there so i can retire in the Philippines and also come back to US few months a year to visit my children. My children love Philippines so they will also visit me every year.

    • @paengguin9381
      @paengguin9381 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Irissa07 you can do that while you are still young and strong. But once you are older, have grandkids and all of your kids have their own families, you will probably be back in US permanently. They will want you to be there. It is hard to live in the Philippines even if you have money. Who wants to be lonely and cooped up in a condo when their family is in US? Family is everything.

    • @Irissa07

      @ i have family too in the Philippines, my son is there he chose to be there. He is a dual citizen but chose to live in the Philippines. I love Philippines and so does my kids. My oldest son invested a house there it will be done soon. My sister also will be retiring there and her husband. My brother as well. We will all be neighbors and will travel back and forth. Im not completely happy being in America. I love the Philippines and so do my children. Im almost 50 so in 5 years im ready to retire together with my older sister and brother. Our parents are retired there also. They just left the USA last yr to retire. America is not for everyone. I will visit america every year but i cant stay permanently in america that would kill me with depression. Youre right family is everything since theyre all going to retire there and my sons invested there i should be with them. Why would i coop up in a house here in america where i dont have family anymore? I will be lonely. Plus my mortgage will be $4000 a month. You think i will afford to pay that with my ss paycheck? I will sell my house here and live happily WITH MY FAMILY in the Philippines. We will come here in california once a year to visit friends and medical check up.

    • @paengguin9381
      @paengguin9381 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Irissa07 good for you. All of my family, relatives and friends are in California so I retired here. None of us retired or will retire in Pinas because we all planned our retirement and won't be relying on SS alone. I retired debt-free with a paid off house and 2 cars. My wife and I have 4 inflation-adjusted monthly income streams for life now at 55 and 2 more checks when my wife and I claim SS at 62. We retired 17 years ago, we did not win the lotto. LOL. We worked doubly hard 6-7 days a week, saved and invested aggressively for 20 years. We did not want to retire in our 60s or 70s.
      We can easily afford to retire in California and travel anywhere. There are just more things to see and do in California without the stress, bad weather, traffic, corruption, pollution and inconveniences. Just my opinion. Merry Christmas and A Happy New Yeat to you and your family!

    • @Irissa07
      @Irissa07 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      My family plans to retire in the Philippines, and I want to be with them. My children are grown now, and they love it there-one of them has already moved back. The issues that some people face, like corruption or the heat, don’t affect me because I grew up in the Philippines. In fact, where I’m from-Camiguin and Cagayan de Oro-there’s not much pollution. I find it worse here in San Bernardino County, where we’re advised to stay indoors due to poor air quality and the constant smell of burning trees.
      I hardly encountered any real inconvenience in the Philippines. In fact, life there is more convenient for me. I have people who handle daily tasks like driving, cooking, and laundry, saving me a great deal of time. Much of my wealth also comes from the Philippines, and I didn’t have to work as hard in California, which might explain why my Social Security benefits are lower than expected. A significant portion of my income comes from the Philippines, where my employees send money back here, converting it into dollars.
      I don’t want to rely on my Philippine income for retirement in the U.S. We inherited businesses, farms, a ferry boat, and a taxi company from my grandparents, which provides us with a stable income there. I never planned to live in America, but my parents were involved in a car accident, and my brother was diagnosed with cancer, so we moved here to support them. I could retire now at 45, but I’m choosing to wait until my daughter graduates from college.

    Professionally speaking, dont get a lot and build a mobile home… mahina ang appreciation. Ang yaman ng mga tao dito lalo na sa California is directly tied sa real estate. Financial leverage ito para sa marami.

    Would you be interested in Columbia SC? Weather from Sep-June like Baguio/ Vancouver, Jul-Aug like lowlands in Philippines. Fall colors pero bihira ang snow, barely a few inches if ever. Muli na ku permanently. Dad is 80 in Jan, mom is 83 & wants to retire there. Columbia does not have fire issues like CA. Bought house as new construction & only one living here. Advice when buying is to get fixed rate 30 year mortgage to build equity. You can refinance to fixed 10 year when rates go down. Asking $375K, will leave furniture & major appliances so you can just move in. I’ll throw in 1998 Honda Accord Coupe but needs work since haven’t driven in years. 4 bedroom, 2 bath, approx 1800 sq ft, .21 acres in Lake Carolina. Brick front, one level w/ 4th room over 2-car garage. Lexington Med Hospital & rehab facility in 7 miles. Other care facilities within 20 miles, no need to drive on freeway. Not listed online yet since I don’t want to move until Feb.

      @@PinoyNomads Maligayang Pasko & God bless! Hope it helps if you or eventually your kids decide to buy, some more info but please always confirm if applicable locally - kahit bumili kayo sa Canada, baka magqualify kayo nang first time homebuyer program dito sa States. It might not reduce the rate pero down payment can be as low as 3% to 5% instead of 20%, altho less than 20% usually will require mortgage insurance. Once you've paid 20%, let the mortgage bank know to remove mortgage insurance from your monthly payments. Depende sa household income, first time homebuyer programs may provide funds. When you do your taxes, ask the accountant to try itemizing deductions since mortgage interest payments used to be tax deductible, $ for $, if itemized totals more than standard, baka makakuha pa kayo nang refund. In terms of type of mortgage, para sa akin, hindi advisable ang interest only mortgage kasi hindi mababawasan and principal. Hindi rin advisable ang fixed to variable (i.e. 5 yr fixed then adjustable) kasi baka tumaas ulit ang rates kung sumama ulit ang inflation. Mas maganda ang fixed para hindi nagbabago ang monthly payments so you can budget for it. Ask the bank to confirm na walang pre-payment penalty. Ask for the amortization schedule para makita ninyo kung magkano and napupunta sa principal and what goes against interest. Still would recommend 30 year fixed then refinance to 10 or 15 year fixed when rates go down. There might still be a benefit to buying, lalo na kung gaya sa Pilipinas, kasama pa rin and mga married na anak. I wish you could find one like my house, hiwahiwalay ang mga kwarto. Malaki yoong kwarto sa taas nang garahe, pwede ang double bed at crib. I don't know why I am dreaming for you pero if your daughter stays with you, makikita ninyong lumaki and apo ninyo and also help your daughter save on daycare. Pag elementary na ang apo ninyo, pwede siyang magattend sa elementary and middle schools within the larger community, they can take the bus that stops one house away so pwede ninyong makita na sumakay sa bus ang apo ninyo, or you can walk, bike or take a golf cart to school. The community is like John Hay in Baguio. At that point, maybe you will retire and your daughter can take over the mortgage. If you end up refinancing to a lower term and the house is fully paid sooner but she wants to buy a bigger house, it can become an asset for rent and they as a couple can manage it, or your son can live in it (I'm assuming here that your son will join his future wife). If not, maybe your daughter can buy out her brother's share of the house. You can then travel and make the house your home base, except you will move to one of the other rooms and your daughter will be in the primary. It's always an option to sell the house. Of course, this assumes that your entire family will move. University of South Carolina is a topnotch school, not to mention all the healthcare related facilities (MUSC, Lexington Med Ctr NE, Pruitt Health - last two w/in 8 miles). I had deleted the yahoo e.mail but restored it if you want to see photos of the area and house. name: pinoynomad@myyahoo.com | pw: LupangHinirang I'm sure you weren't expecting such a long response, I just think the house and subdivision would be a good fit if your daughter can see a future in SC. Cost of living is lower, gas is $2.70 today. No hail like the one you experienced in TX.

    Well explained kabayan., middle class mindset ang karamihan dito sa Amerika.
    You live your life in your own terms, you are a very open minded person, I been through a lot of experiences as far as homeownership, it has pros and cons, went from owning big and small houses, it all comes down to.. home ownership is overrated. Its a double edge sword “ you can own the house, or the house can own you”, being a house poor is no fun experience… tama ang sinabi mo you will loose a lot of time because its a vicious cycle. On flip side, if own a house and bought it at the right time and gained a lot of equity and sell it at the right time, and bought a smaller one then you are in a better position.! Owning the house outright is way better than paying mortgage, yun nga lang property tax is no escape, babayarin mo pa rin si Uncle Sam sa share nya! 🤣😂

      @@moto8642 maraming puro reklamo sa amerika na pinoy pero ayaw namang umuwi sa pinas. LOL. meron ding tamad, gusto easy job at easy money na di uubra sa US dahil walang ganun. Pinoys should just focus on working hard, saving, investing and counting their blessings. Mas super hirap sa Pinas kung hindi ka galing sa super yamang pamilya.

    Sapat na ba ang 4 na taon para magkabahay dito sa America? Maraming mga Pilipino at ibang lahi na minimum wage lang ang natatanggap o kaya part-time job lang tapos may social security money na tamang-tama lang para buhayin nila ang sarili nila. Kung walang social security income eh dalawa o tatlong trabaho ang ginagawa nila na minimum wage din. Ilusyon lamang ang 4 na taon ka na dito sa Amerika eh dapat may bahay ka na! Marami nga 20 years na sa US eh naka-apartment pa rin.

    4yrs ka lang pala dito totoy na totoy ka pa talaga di mo pa alam talaga ang reality buhay america. isipin mo di lang pinoy ang nakatira dito. kung bibili ka ng bahay kahit malaki paycheck mo di ka agad agad ma aprove dahil madami ka babayaran about sa bahay. kahit nga Mag Asawa na at malaki ng both paycheck di parin aprove. dahil sa mga taxes pa. isip isip din brad alam ko magkano per hour ng nurse dito. ang Bahay dito di magiging syo yan ang totoo bihira lang ma paid off ang bahay dahil ilan yrs mo babayaran tapos tax shelter mo pa. eto pa pag paid mo ang bahay mo yayariin ka naman sa tax shelter malaking pera yan.
