I'm an Ilonggo in ethnicity and loved Sakurab when I first tasted it. I started to look aroud in our public market here in General Santos City and found a small Maranao community and was able to buy Sakurab and made myself a Palapa.
Sacorab(scallion), luya pageresun(ginger), luya tiduk(fresh cayyen pepper), with a few salt combine it to boyowa or mixer and that we called mailaw a Palapa (fresh palapa And when it cooked we added shreded coconut with small sugar in it that so delicious appetizer and a medecine food, the maranao food is heatiest food because their always a Kalawag(turmeric) and luya pagiresun(ginger) and the Sacorab(scallions) palapa is a secret medicine food of our ancestors maranao.

Amazing video of Jack fruit recipes. Looks so yummy. In my country of Guyana we do cook small Jack fruit curry with coconut milk. It's is yummy too but this one in the Philippines takes so long to cook. Enjoy Mark.

I've always been wanting to try Marawi since long time. This video is a great inspiration for me to try their cuisine and also try my own dishes using their fresh seafood, beef etc. The heaviest Tilapia I've ever tried in Manila was 1.750 KGs I've grilled Tilapia weighing more than 3 KGs, Bangus weighing 1.6KGs in Middle East ((imported from Taiwan)). Am still looking for fish dried using modern hygienic methods in Philippines. Someone said I should try Navotas. Bon Appetite Mark Wiens 🍻🍻 Just curious, is alcohol served in restaurants at Marawi??
