This video analyzes the sizes and impacts of various different nuclear devices, the history of nuclear weapons and what countries in the world are in possession of such devices.

Well, what else were they meant to do? they couldn't actually use them because Moscow had the codes and means to launch it. This video only covers blast radius, unfortunately. The bigger issue is fallout being swept up into the atmosphere and making its way across a much larger swath of terrain. I think nukemap also has modes to emulate this based on common air currents.

It's because of those TH-camrs (like this one) display Minecraft "TNT" and use it for measurements in their videos, it's far more annoying when their creation doesn't at least have any statistics to what it can do individually if it was in real life.
However, I see why they do it.
The majority of the viewers don't fully understand what are "joules" or "kilotons" really are. Meaning they would fail to know what these words mean when trying to relate to nuclear weapons. Also, if the measurements are in "ton('s) of TNT" (the "ton of TNT" may sound like a made-up thing, but it is legitimately a unit of energy
).
1 "ton of TNT" equals 4.184 gigajoules or 4184000000 joules.
That would be confusing. Especially to person's who don't understand joules.

You can create one joule in kinetic energy if you drop a small apple one metric meter above the ground.
Now, my hypothesis says that this video could be referring to a single gram of TNT for measurements (not really a unit of energy but has to typically be there). If it is true then I've wasted 10 minutes writing the top of my comment.
